    People don't get ISFPs... ISFPs I believe are very light people, we don't ask a lot or we don't ask at all. Because we learn to understand and listen to other people's thoughts. And it is very hard for ISFPs to express themselves well especially for those introvert's percentage more than 60%. ISFPs don't take credits at all... It is really rare to see a video to say ISFPs are awesome. Thank you :)

    ISFP are usually the ones who:
    • Whose parents think they’re being lazy bums
    • Who are often misunderstood and unfairly get yelled at
    • Whose friends think they’ve achieved inner peace 🐢
    • Who probably has some artistic/musical skill
    • Who 90% listen during chatting
    • Who can also 90% talk if people let them
    • Who fall in love with people who care for them
    • Who won’t stand even breathing near something they don’t like (job, people, etc.)
    Please add more to this list 💚

    I'm an ISFP who grew up in a very unsupportive environment and have come to understand that if an ISFP grows up not being allowed to or being too scared to do what they want to do they are literally the most useless and worst types in existence, and it will take the undying guise of attention of someone like a gracious and patient INFP to get out of it.

      @@darrellsimon4462 If you want to interpret it that way. ISFPs are almost always thinking about how others will perceive them for doing a particular action. Overthinking and overanalyzing is our "superpower". If they grow up in a supportive environment ISFPs can be bold and outgoing and do great things but say you tell an ISFP "I don't want to hear you sing in this house, no one does" or "thanks for coming to the party but everyone thinks you're weird you should probably leave" or if you beat him with a wooden bat for drawing bloody samurais and girls in bikinis he may have trouble doing anything productive unless he's completely alone, ever again.

      @@darrellsimon4462 Yes we are a very past-oriented type. Always looking to the past to try and foresee the future, because we so desperately want to be correct and do the right thing to get the most favorable outcome. But because of our piss-poor extraverted Intuition, our attempts to look to the past usually backfires. We assume and get things wrong, we forget to be in the moment during conversations, and for many of us the past makes us freeze up in anxiety.

    I love isfps. As an infp, I find the two types that I get along with best are isfps and enfps. I also find they are very inclusive. They won't leave a person out and don't care if they are popular or not. I believe my grandmother was one and also one of my mentors is too. He is a musician, but is also very hands on too. Can learn almost anything, including construction and machanical and was also a paramedic for 10 years before getting into music full time. My grandmother was into poetry and photgraphy. I think it's interesting reading isfp poetry vs infp. They tend to be very visually descriptive I find and do it in a very that's very personal due to that Fi/Se combo. I write as well and it's much more metaphorical and symbolic but yet still quite Fi. I find it very interesting.

      My mom is INFP, but acts very much like an ISFP. She is very aesthetically sensitive, and gets easily bothered by any disharmony in her environment. She loves gardening, sports, painting, fashion, home decor, cooking. She can discern a "bad" person just from the way they look or their "vibe." Mastering her outer environment is what brings her the most joy and harmony on the inside. Where the N comes in, though, is she actually assigns REALLY DEEP MEANING to all of these things, to the point where it's ridiculous. Like if someone wears a purple belt, it represents something very deep and meaningful. She doesn't really understand that the majority of people don't pay that much attention to these things!

    I am an isfp who has been mistyped as infp and intp. What confused me a lot and made it hard to realise that I’m a sensor was the strong intuition i have, as it is our third function. I’m also pretty logical that’s why I thought I’m an intp but i also take decisions based on what is right or wrong. It was really confusing because I related a lot to the intp and the infp but i also didn’t. I’m more of a realist than these two types and i like the physical world more than what they do. I pick up on sports pretty quickly ( even though I don’t do any atm) and I’m really competitive (bad thing, i know). I’m not an artist though. I suck at painting/drawing but i like writing short stories from time to time or buy fancy clothes.

      As an isfp myself, I define art to be literally anything creative. Drawing, music, writing, crafts, interior design, fashion... They're all creative so they all count as art. Also, sports something that uses a lot of se too. As a kid I did every sport known to man, now as an adult I have more creative hobbies than I can count. Its all an expression of that se. I have mistyped as an infp before. The online tests have a strong intuitive bias. It wasn't until I learned about the cognitive functions and realized that using ne (trying to come up with multiple possibilities, or leaving multiple possibilities on the table for extended periods of time) is exhausting and overwhelming and anxiety provoking, that I decided I'm for sure an isfp. I was also raises by a very unhealthy, unbalanced estj, who only ever puts energy into te (they're own dominant function) in their own life, only ever resonates with other peoples te, and thinks everyone who doesn't lead with te is dumb and inferior and isn't afraid to tell you so. Growing up in this environment, my weaknesses have been emphasized way more than my strengths. I'm now 26. It wasn't until I was blessed with infp and enfp bosses in my current place of employment that I've really come out of my shell, discovered my strengths, and gained some semblance of self exceptance. The infp boss has now left the company, but we've kept in touch and become friends, and I've been spending a lot more time with the enfp at work now. 😊

    Hi, I was mistyped as INTJ on 16personalities website. I took the test twice 3 years ago with about a 6 six month of time gap. The description kinda fit me and even my best friend at the time believed I was an INTJ, most probably because I was cold on the outside and when things need to get done, I am quite blunt in articulating what I believe is right and passionate about it. And when I looked around the other types, the closer potential options didn't fit me as much as INTJ descriptions did so I was almost sure that it was my type. How I discovered my real type began with learning about cognitive functions a few days ago. The more I learned about the functions the more I started to understand how I function as well. And also INTJs and ISFPs actually use the same 4 funtions, just in different order. I think that's the reason why I was mistyped on that test I took. Now I'm learning about what ISFPs are about and how their functions appear in behaviours, I can easily see and can also relate to the art, sports and kinesthetic ''hands-on'' learning stereotypes. They are all my hobbies and things I really enjoy doing and maybe it's needed to say I'm quite gifted at doing those? :) What I think I don't fit is the ''unintelligent'' stereotype. I'm interested in philosophy, political systems and abstract ideas as much as an INTJ would be and I think about those things a lot. I have a wide range of interests and I seek knowledge in a lot of things that most people around me rarely care about. So in brief I'd like to thank you for bringing out that being Fi-dom doesn't necessarily make one unintelligent or only care about their own emotions and expressing them. No, it's not what I'm only about :)

    I typed on a couple of tests as INFP. I studied the types for a long time and INFJ seemed a much better fit than INFP. I came to the conclusion I was an XNFJ and definitely Ni intuition not Ne. I felt I must be an NF. One thing bothered me though and that was that my Ni didn't show up powerfully until in my 50s. In my 20s I was more of a Sensor. This drove me nuts until I finally saw that I'm an ISFP. In my younger years my Fi + Se were dominant but in my 50s my Ni + Fi have been very dominant, hence I was typing myself influenced by seeing my Ni. It was watching DaveSuperPowers YT video about the 'animals' that gave me my final light bulb moment in typing as an ISFP.
    I totally agree about not all ISFPs being artists, or having a strong connection to our own feelings, at least not consciously anyway. This stereotype ISFP of knowing our feelings, what we value etc really threw me off for ages. My Fi's are often dependent on how others feel, what they want from me, their needs and so on, so this made me assume I was Fe dominant.
    I'm so relieved to have finally worked it all out! It has been such an obsession. ISFP seems to be highly correlated to enneagram type 9w1. The following from thought catalog.com explains a lot!
    "Type 9 ISFPs
    Type 9 with an 8 wing: 24%
    Type 9 with a 1 wing: 76%
    The most common Enneagram type selected by ISFPs was 9. As the 9 type is highly correlated with the ISFP’s dominant function introverted feeling, this type pairing certainly fits.Type 9 ISFPs crave personal and interpersonal peace above all else - they are highly receptive to the energies that surround them and may have a tendency to take on others’ energies as their own - embodying many of the traits of an empath or a highly sensitive person.
    Type 9 ISFPs tend to be spiritual in nature - feeling as though their identity is, in some part, tied into a power that is greater than themselves (be this a religion, a spiritual practice or a strong belief in destiny). This type of ISFP tends to be quite in touch with their tertiary introverted intuition, using it support and understand better their dominant introverted feeling.
    At their core, type 9 ISFPs believe themselves to be worthy insofar as they are in tune with both the world and people around them and their own inner world. They are constantly moving away from feelings of loss or disconnection and toward a greater sense of unity and harmony. This type is most like their introverted counterpart the INFP, but may mistake themselves for INFJs in high frequency, due to their well-developed introverted intuition, and because the combination of introverted feeling and extroverted sensing mimics extroverted feeling in many ways.
    Type 4 ISFPs
    Type 4 with an 3 wing: 14%
    Type 4 with a 5 wing: 86%
    A significant number of ISFPs identified 4 as their Enneagram type. Since the 4 type is correlated with the ISFP’s dominant function introverted feeling, this type pairing certainly fits.
    Type 4s ISFPs are highly creative, individualistic and artistic in nature. They experience life on a deeply emotional level and are constantly searching for methods of expressing their experiences artistically and authentically. Many ISFP type 4s are talented artists, writers, musicians or other creative types. They see self-expression as their mission in life - believing it to be their purpose to share their gift of insight with others. These ISFPs may be particularly in tune with their auxiliary extroverted sensing as well as their introverted feeling, using a fusion of the two functions to create their art form of choice.
    At their core, type 4 ISFPs believe themselves to be worthy only insofar as they are creatively unique. They are constantly moving away from feelings of insignificance and toward feelings of individuality and creativity. They are most like their intuitive cousins, the INFPs.

    I initially typed as ISFP but I didn’t like it and didn’t relate to the theorical description mostly because I’m not really an artistic kind of guy. I retried the test by trying to think more to my answers and typed INFP. With another test, I typed ISFJ, and with another one ISTP. I watched a loooot of in depth video about all these types to find the truth. ISTP looked a lot like me, but INFP as well (this wasn’t making any sense, they are so different!). After even more videos I ended up realizing ISFP is finally who I am. The initial disappointment was gone after this long journey, it was kind of a relieve. Now that I know better the other types, I am happy to be ISFP because this is exactly me.
    Thank you to give us some credit! People don’t talk much about us. And I really enjoyed your chill attitude btw. Cool content! :)

      I'm INTP and my best friend is ISFP. We get along great almost all of the time. I might be a bit too "intellectual" and philosophical for her, so I try to tone it down a bit when I'm with her. And when she stands up for her values she does not give a crap what anyone else thinks. And her moodiness confuses me at times, has me thinking, "does she hate me now?". But after knowing her for 15 years, I know it's just her being her. She is a musical genius, super kind, super intuitive, great memory, quirky, funny, goofy, and loving.

    My most often asked question as a child was, “why do people have to be so mean?”. I somehow had this vision from deep within of a happy world, full of people who loved one another for the beautiful beings we are created as. I would stare at people from an artist’s perspective examining their features, focusing intently on them, looking past what some perceive as flaws, and focusing on their unique beauty. I would sometimes take that image and make a drawing, but could never do them justice & gave up. I tend to live in the moment, very spontaneous but hard to pin down for future activities & plans. I was very chill, easygoing, accepting & could empathize with both sides in divisions. I do have a very strong intuition, which I suppress or am forced to suppress by circumstances/consequences I’m not ready to face yet. It takes me a very long time to verify what my intuition tells me, which has never been wrong.
    I’ve had paranormal experiences i.e. OBE, Clairaudience, Visions & Lucid Dreams. I wonder if that has any connection with ISFP.

    I want to do art and become rather experienced in it out of obsession more than actual raw talent lol. If it's worth doing it's worth doing the best it could be done. I don't mean art like... Painting or music... Just in the sense that I have something I can perfect and hone my skills on... I spend so much time visualizing beautiful things and seeing nature and things through a morbid, but beautiful lense, that I'd like to share it with people so I feel connected I guess... But more often than not I prefer to just be in my own realm. Catch me looking out the window with the cat, thinking of what I should do next and writing poems, songs, drawing, writing in general, thinking about worldly and social and economic issues, being angry at people who destroy the world and the beauty I value. I also love dressing in this weird way I like. I didn't exactly get it from anywhere, I just love pretty intracate patterns and cloths that make me feel connected to my moments more.

    As an ISFP I can understand why in my early days I often got misunderstood by my parents and everybody around me by doing what I think is fun. I often wander around the woods and observe the surroundings and because of that I get scolded or get beat up by my parents, I often do not respect my parent's uneccesary strict rules and I really despite when I felt manipulated by others. The fact that I found my parents very manipulative is because they set standards to myself often comparing me to other sons/daughter's achievement. Now I can understand why being an ISFP is so exhausting because I realized the world is very manipulative 😢 so I think as ISFP our best strength is our independence, seeking attentions and validation is a big mistake, we should connect more with our selves, do what is necessary to do and be more attentive on the manipulation of your surroundings, trust me we are not wrong it's just the world want's us to put in a box and be their puppets. We are the Lone Wolves of society, the escapees of the matrix. I felt bad for some comments saying they felt bad for being ISFP. Don't feel bad for yourselves. "I say stop being perfect, let's evolve, let the chips fall where they may".

    Se in the SP type is not really passive and merely observing. Se is active--involved. IMO, the best description of Se I've found is actually Keirsey's description of SP types in his Please Understand Me II book. I know he doesn't believe in functions, etc. but his description of the type really gets to the essence of what Se is. Se is active and participatory. To the SP type, everything and anything is a tool to be manipulated. I do agree about the "artist" thing though. This is another area where Keirsey nailed it. He called us Artisans. It's not art -- or rather, life becomes art, or our work is our canvass, or our play, etc. (it ties into "tools") I do think that we tend to become musicians, though, especially in today's culture. The fine arts have morphed into an intuitive playground, and so SPs have moved to music. :-)
    One last comment on our inferior Te (50+ yr old ISFP writing this), and that is that our Te may be able to recognize flaws and shortcomings in systems, but it is really weak at implementing (which is what is really Te's strength). I used to work as a department head many years ago, and this was my Achilles heel. I quickly learned I needed to hire people who I could trust to help organize and implement things for me. It worked, apparently, as when I left, my "organization skills" were praised. ;-) (though it was my workers who actually were responsible, and who I made sure got the credit--one of them even taking my job)
    I have observed through the years a weird relationship between my two weaker functions. Te, as the inferior, really needs to be watched and "harnessed" as it can easily run rampant. Tertiary intuition, on the other hand, if I try to channel it or control it will almost always let me down, and inevitably lead me to an eruption of the inferior Te. However, if I let it work in the background, unconsciously, on a problem (like when sleeping, or doing other activities), it will frequently lead me to a solution or understanding I had failed to come to while concentrating on the problem. I know that's not the best way to describe it, but it's how I describe it.
    Thanks for the video.

    • @PsychologyandChillwMichi
      @PsychologyandChillwMichi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are very good points!! I try to stay away from saying things like that because I have met ISFPs who are not as active in their external world, but they are still very much Se. It's a hard line to watch because semantics make interpretations so individual.
      I do see what you mean about art becoming more "intuitive" in a way, it's more acceptable to be more out there and do things like Picasso or Dali.
      You are absolutely right about the implementation of your vision of the flaws. You can see them, but can't always implement them. That's impressive that they commended you for your organization skills -- people management is a huge part of that. If you have the right people helping you, that's really more important than handling every single detail yourself!
      Interesting observation about your Te and Ni. Ni (or your tertiary function) is often referred to as the child, bright eyed and optimistic. It does what it wants and can't be controlled much. That's awesome that you've learned to harness it by trusting it rather than controlling it!

    I Knopw exactly what my feelies are and what the catilisists. behind them... And I have a very cute sense of what drives me.. oy I sure am glad I can isolate and thus have the opportunity to take a few deep breaths as I digest my surroundings.. The biggest blessing in my life is to be able to isolate.. Be a rolling stone.. No Social requirements, Im Just a rubber necker in everybody else reality... Signed, Never burned a bridge that wasn't holding me back...

      That's great that you have such a strong connection to that. Are you into psychology studies? Have you ever been interested in MBTI?
      Isolation can be very rewarding. Social requirements are very wearing.

      Cant say Ive ever took a deep dive into any acronyms that might apply to who or what I am.. I do remember a turning point in 3rd grade when my mom took me up for some psych testing at the University of Oregon.. I think that was in 1966.. So.. The next week they separated me form the class and had me do art work all day.. After a few weeks of that lots of stuff changed. I was rejected by a lot of the kids so I started skipping school and had a very small social circle of a couple of kids my age on the block.. So.. It went on that way... Always isolated and Driven to be in a position where I couldn't be walked on.. So.. I managed a large wholesale bakery ,... Then Got strung out on meth (Early 80's) Got Born Again and became a leader .. Got Kicked of for showing signs of stress (Sought professional help.. They don't like that) Worked as a supervisor at a Cisco OEM in Austin.. Burned out... Ran out of pshcyotropics .. (7 years ago) Isolated myself.. And LIFE? Damn she be good.. Social requirements ARE very limiting.. Yeah.. So I like using my freedoms to freak folks out by sating some of the most HONEST things just to watch jaws drop.. Funny thing is my VERY closest friends are in the BIG LEAUGE public relations business of being publicists for a national treasure.. I Guess she likes me cuz I can chime in and ask some of the questions that she'd like to but doesn't have the freedom to do so... Its all about being cleaver and respectable and wanting NOTHING.. So Thats my life in that last sentence..

    • @PsychologyandChillwMichi
      @PsychologyandChillwMichi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bet that would be isolating at that age to be taken away for a while and then brought back. Kids are very fickle with that kind of stuff. Smaller social circles are probably better just in general.
      That's an impressive life you have lived! Sure, there were dips, but it seems like it's really help you become at peace with who you are and know what you want. And now, you are able to go out there and help people!

      @@PsychologyandChillwMichi 😀🤣😃😆😆🤔🤔 Help people🙄🙄 The way I help people is living the golden rule as I float through this bowl of granola we call realty...its pretty amazing to think about how diverse we as a people are despite all of the inbreeding going on in the southern states 😒 Psychology.. Labels.. acronyms.. Now here's a thought. Forensically psychoanalyze every single character in the bible along with the customary uses of cannabis and other psychoactive in their cultures.. But as with most things. I digress from the subject at hand.. Gotta admit this is more fun than group and there's no copay...

      lol yes, I have seen the same patterns in the bible. I mean... Moses, burning bush, come on. We are really diverse and it's really nice that society is trying to be more accepting of the diversity.

    • @zephdo2971

      I'm not really sure. Like an ISFP, I want to try to experience a lot of new things, but my mind is a huge jerk always filling me up with visions that all could go haywire when I do this and that.
      I also do not like being told what to do and not to, this results in "anger outbursts" specially when other people "spam" their command button.

    • @PsychologyandChillwMichi
      @PsychologyandChillwMichi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The not liking being told what to do sounds very Fi, so could be good either. As for wanting to experience, both like to do that as well. Maybe you should check out videos of my sister who is an ISFP who we used to think was an INFP

    Sometimes I've wondered if I might be one, otherwise I don't know of any personally that I can remember. Fairly certain it's just the Ni-Fi loop with emphasis on Fi for me.
    Though it's not the best show because of some content, Breaking Bad actually had a fairly good contrast of INTJ (Walter) and ISFP (Jesse), (although Walter often tried playing the role of an ISFJ without Fe or ISTJ at times, overall I think he's INTJ) and Jesse would make Ni predictions of things, while ignoring Ne possibilities otherwise, (more toward the end when the Pollos Hermanos guy was trying to divide them though). I still don't quite know enough to say for sure and my memories are fading from having watched that like a month or two ago, but I think that's the case anyhow.

    • @PsychologyandChillwMichi
      @PsychologyandChillwMichi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! I always thought of Jesse as an ESFP, but your description makes me think you may be right about the ISFP ness of him. Especially when it comes to Ne possibilities.
      Walter is 100% INTJ -- and he struggles with his Fi in the beginning a lot, remember how like.... sad/depressed, feeling lost and purposeless he was in the beginning of the first season? It wasn't until he had a purpose, getting money to pay for his chemo and using chemistry to forge the path, that he fully clicked into his strengths.

    • @PsiCorps85
      @PsiCorps85 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PsychologyandChillwMichi I could be wrong about Jesse. I can't recall specifics, but yeah there were a few times he seemed more like an ESFP. It's somewhat kinda sad how he was crying when he had to shoot the INTP guy in order to save Walter, like it was really going against his Fi but his Ni was like, it has to be done basically. IDK for sure though.
      Yeah, Walter feeling so lost at the beginning really resonated with me, and when his wife left him the first time. I know when I was abandoned I felt my entire reason for living walked out the door. It is funny though with him not putting up with that carwash owner's bullcrap in the beginning though, like with the owner being like "obey me, it's your duty!" And Walter being like, "I don't give a damn!" essentially, LOL.

    • @PsiCorps85
      @PsiCorps85 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PsychologyandChillwMichi maybe when Jesse was at the one recovery group thing, the last time he was there, and just was like scolding the ENFJ (my impression anyhow) leader guy about getting over what he did and such of that sort, he did seem more ESFP then, almost doing a Te-rebuke (as I call it anyway, rather than "b-slap" which I think just sounds bad needlessly) similar to how ENFPs do when they've had enough of something. IDK for certain though, it could be Fe-Nemesis and Fe-Critic behave similarly, being only one spot apart and both still being used, unlike Fe-PoLR which is also one spot away from Fe-Critic. Still more I need to learn, but your impression of him as ESFP could be correct, though my overall impression is that he's probably ISFP, IMO.

    • @PsychologyandChillwMichi
      @PsychologyandChillwMichi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walter's character is great. His progression throughout the show, his changes and adaptations are amazing. Granted, I wish he took a higher moral road, but *Shrug* that wouldn't make for as compelling of a show!
      I think you are actually right about him being an ISFP. He is always the one coming in with the "Yo, Mr. White, that ain't right" now I'm paraphrasing, but you know what I mean. he is actually more introverted than his friends and thinks more than they do (and not just because of Walter's influence, though that helped him develop more).
