      As someone who studied teaching, though I have limited practical experience, maybe you could try educational activities at home that involve more tactile and colorful cues? Some people just learn better when they can use their hands, while schools don't really teach to that type of learner. Some also learn better through activity and moving around (kinetic learning). I did do some general studies on the different learning styles based on MBTI, but it's been ages, so this is just a best guess from cloudy memories of what might be appealing. But this is part of the reason intuitive types are better at school than sensors the higher up you get in the grade levels.
      She's also not going to like learning for learning's sake (I know. What is wrong with other types, right? ;) ) But you can get her motivated to learn because she enjoys something. You just have to find the things she enjoys and find a job that fits her skills.
      Anyway, if you play with her, what kinds of games and activities engage her, and how can that be turned into learning activities that lead down a career path (even if it's a career you yourself wouldn't choose?).
      Good luck on finding an answer. :)

      I'm an ISFP engineer and artist..
      We ISFPs love feeling special and having creative freedom to solve problems and we can actually be really competitive.
      Definitely make sure to avoid anything related to memorizing things, our memories suck, especially if it's something that doesn't hit our emotions in any meaningful way. Go for exploration type activities where she is rewarded by discovering the solution all by herself, and then make sure you're giving her praise for doing so. If she makes a strong effort but fails, praise her creativity at the very least, but show her why it didn't work out.
      Sometimes all we need is a taste of success over our peers, and that can keep us going. But most often we just need to be given a problem to think about and the freedom to explore our own way of doing it ourselves. :)

    Writing down my (ISFP) perspective:
    As an ISFP, I hate being shoved into the same categories as INFPs. Just like you described it, their passive/imaginative approach can annoy the more action-oriented ISFPs from time to time.
    Personally, I perceive INFPs as way softer than ISFPs, and ISFPs as more intense (from my experience, the laid-back ISFP cliché isn't true at all, they can be quite determined, to the point of being obsessive)

    • @basic-decaf
      @basic-decaf ปีที่แล้ว +67

      Yeah we ISFPs are probably the hardest to stereotype because the Fi-Se makes us all go overboard on our uniqueness.. the stereotype that gets portrayed just never feels right.. 1) ENTJ: my ENTJ buds are very conscious of how I feel and are eager to make things right, even if they didn't do anything wrong. They're far from ignorant and oblivious, especially when it comes to my feelings. They're never condescending towards me. I appreciate them very much.
    2) ENTP: I love listening to them. They're very interesting and I find myself paying a lot more attention when they speak
    3) INFP: yes, most definitely yes 🥲
    4) ENFJ: 😆 Guilty as charged
    5) INTP: I feel like INTPs are actually a lot more colourful and engaging than what they're stereotyped to be.
    6) INTJ: Yes, I find their lack of Vitamin D disturbing. However, instead of being cold and intimidating, I find them to be warm, relaxed, and childlike towards me.

    INFJ here. The ISFP and INFJ relationship were quite true. I have been close to two ISFPs, one being a very long childhood friend that lives far away and one i lived in the same house with for 5 months. I don't have a very good understanding about what goes on in their heads. They seem like an enigma to me sometimes, because im blind to my own Fi and i'm quite out of touch with reality, and they do so elegantly make new and unique things all the time that seems to me like out of nowhere or random. But i feel quite connected to them, somehow. Even when they don't say anything, i can sometimes understand them. It's like a mutual understanding of let's retract into our creative spaces. ISFP's minds are amazingly quirky and they're always very fun to be around. I can learn a lot from their way of articulating their Fi into everything they do and their unique ways of improving what they are interested in.

Though too, another thing you have to remember about INFPs and ENFPs is that we have Te for our thinking function so that does lend a little edge of impatience with things that don’t get to a point/solution that I’m not sure XNTPs have.

      That's so fun! I'm an ISFP who seems to favor INFJ relationships, because as I've learned about MBTI, I've noticed that I am close with quite a few of you... I really believe there is strong potential for deep and long-term connection between our two types! I'm actually married to an INFJ. I also have several INFJ close friends. I don't find you to be a type who holds the initial judgment -- my husband is constantly reassessing his viewpoints on coworkers, and often comes to adore people he initially disliked...
      When we met, i think we took turns being the more outgoing one based on the situation. It was an instant connection that swiftly went deep, because the thing people often forget about ISFPs is that with Ni in 3rd slot, we enjoy tapping into our intuitive side, and an INFJ is a very ideal companion to do that with!! Trying to go theoretical with an Ne-user is much more of a stretch for me, but for those who use Ni, I feel right at home, albeut recognizing that I'll never be able to match the power of pro-Ni! I truly prefer to vacillate between sensory and virtual realms, but that may not be true for every ISFP, especially those who haven't had much opportunity or interest in developing their third function. Nonetheless, it led me to be mistyped as INFP for years (another type with which I find a wealth of potential for harmony, mostly based on our shared Fi and our Te-aversion). I now recognize that I am entirely too interested in the external sensory world and intensely tuned into aesthetics and details to ever be a true intuitive, but I appreciate the way that being an ISFP lets me dabble in that world from time to time, and connect with those who primarily spend their time there.

    As an INTJ, I must confess that I always keep a dark sheet clipped over my window, so there is always little to no sunlight in my room. That being said, the little 'inferior Se' angel on my shoulder is always nudging me to embrace the brightness and warmth of sunshine, and thus why I have a tropical island avatar for this TH-cam account.

    The ISTJ rendition of Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is" seemed oddly appropriate.
    There have been ISFPs I've (INTP) liked and ISFPs I haven't much cared for. The problem (again, from one INTP's perspective) is that they can be totally fine... and then you somehow set off some Fi-based insanity and they turn into rabid chipmunks. Some ISFPs get over it and some decide you're evil for the rest of your life. Then you either get to dance around the issue to keep from setting them off again, or tell them to grow the heck up, neither of which is generally conducive to a peaceful coexistence. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it doesn't.

    • @emilys3638
      @emilys3638 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      As an ISFP, there are other ISFPs I haven't cared for much as well! Some of them seem very touchy and standoffish, to the point where I've even questioned whether we share the same type. The best I can explain it is, there is the dog-version and cat-version of ISFP, haha! Some are outgoing and adventurous and loyal, and some are reserved and reclusive and independent. Not saying it's a bad thing, but it's really not *my* thing to be that way, if that makes sense. (And yes, I'm certain I'm not an extrovert who's mistyped...)

    • @jimclayson
      @jimclayson ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@emilys3638 Oh, I totally get that, and I think the dog vs cat comparison is a good one... and it's not like it's JUST ISFPs who can become suddenly triggered. High-Fi types are just typically the ones whose processing I have more trouble following, so the sudden shifts tend to catch me by surprise. It all seems very random to me most of the time.

    Hey youtube commenters! I just wanted to mention again that Kristin has a patreon goal that when she hits 500 patrons she's going to make "16 Personalities In A Musical." Let's make that happen!
    Even if you can't afford the lowest patreon tier, I'm sure a custom pledge of any size would help her achieve her goal of becoming a full time content creator. Even a dollar would help! So, if her content entertains you, or enriches your life in some way, please consider donating!

    I find it interesting how both INFPs and ISFPs "nightmare" type are not the "opposite type" (like stereotypes would indicate) but ENTJ and ESTJ, respectively 🤔 Not to say the relationship with the opposite type is easy but I think sharing the same functions makes it easier to understand each other. I remain clueless about ENTJs and being unable to empathize is a nightmare.

    It would be interesting to see "16 personalities when no one's looking" on your channel. Would be nice to see personalities oddly different from their stereotypes and it would give people another perspective about how INTJs are not always serious and robotic for example. Cuz enough.
