i've got to be the ̶b̶e̶s̶t̶ worst assassin i've ever seen
Lol
But we have seen you 👌
How is the story?
So it would seem..
Worst but best sound effects assassin
When you are dying of thirst a sip of water feels like a refreshing glass. That about sums up the reception to this game.
A sip of refreshing water after years of Mountain Dew is healthy for both body and mind
Fr. It has a lot of strong elements but it feels like there’s a lot to go to make it feel like a triple a series again like ac2 and 3 did when they came out.
The recent games have all felt overly padded until Mirage, but Mirage feels like it lacks the high quality cinematics, level design and pacing of some of the earlier games. Large maps don’t really impress in 2024c and Ubisoft seems to think that large barren maps that take a long time to travel across = better game but I’d much rather them have a medium or small ish map with a lot more detail, better ai and attention to detail. Some games really benefit from large maps, but walking around in ac isn’t fun, parkour and running through crowds is fun but those don’t require any of the big empty areas they keep spending so much of their effort on. Tears of the kingdom works well with large environments but that’s partially because they were able to completely fill out that world with meaningful content, random collectible items are like the korok seeds though and those alone don’t make empty areas worth exploring, TotK works because you come across a lot of random stories, shrines that are consistently super fun unlike botw and clever environmental puzzles that require you to use the mechanics in interesting ways.
The series needs much stronger AI, the stealth mechanics are good it’s just that the ai is some of the worst I’ve seen in a stealth focused game in over a decade.
Still one of the best in the series
@@jonathanpilcher337 Mirage one of the best? I'm curious which games do u think are better than Mirage?
@@MauroJesus100 I don't get too specific with what I like more or less. I know brotherhood, revelations, unity, origins, and mirage are my top 5 but not the exact order y'know
Hope ubisoft Boredeux handle some AC games after Mirage. Because they understand what old fans want with added elements from the RPG trilogy
Hope they stop pumping out a fucking game every year or 2. Those last few games and the next few are, and will be, absolutely boring and uninspired...
@@honorabletrap6420 They have 20,000 employees spread over 40 studios on 3 continents.
@@astronotics531and the rpg games aren’t that bad this is just plain hatred
@@astronotics531 imagine so much man power for the most generic gameplay, uninspired characters, empty open world. But hey at least you can throw out hundreds of $ for cosmetics and other in-game real money shop IN A FUCKING SINGLEPLAYER
@@oBlackIceo they are bad. As assassins creed games. They are horrible. They know they can't make an rpg without the assassins creed name to sell it. They tried. It failed.
I remember fondly that in ac 2, when your running and doing parkour, a random npc says something like “he looks like he is in a hurry, and she must be beautiful”.
“Its another way to get about i suppose” is pretty good too
"There goes another capering crusader..."
"He must be late" "And she must be beautiful."
That line of dialogue is literally better than most of the games in this franchise that came out after Assassin's Creed Revelations
True!@@AFanOfCinema
This was even funnier in AC1
Love the updates and the New Game+. The only thing I could ever ask for would be having new assassination contracts come out every once in a while. But yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Mirage. Ended up playing about 40 hours by the time I had finished the story and all of the side missions, but still haven't gotten 100% of the collectibles. I like to take my time and savor a game, and Mirage was great for that, imo. I would love nothing more than to have Ubisoft keep releasing these smaller, single-city, classic AC style games more frequently. I think Mirage actually did so well in terms of sales that Ubi may actually make more of these smaller games. That would be amazing for this OG AC fan!
It feels fun to play. Like genuinely having fun. There was clearly passion behind this game despite the limitations I hope this studio makes more assassisn creed with the time
Also what button on pc is back eject
Honestly, if it weren't for those limitations, they could make a killer AC game, I'm really really hoping, especially after how well this game sold unexpectedly, they make more of these smaller ac games or atleast make a fully fledged proper ac game with this studio. Might never happen, but one can dream.
@@qadi796 funny how at first we could not take yearly
Same assasins creed yet now after 10 years we what them back, we really dont know what we what do we
@gsst6389 I'd have to agree with you on that, reminds me of final fantasy, whenever a new one comes out, all the fans are divided, some like the new features, some hate em, some just want the nostalgic stuff, it's weird but what can they do when a franchise runs for this long, wonder how ac red will be, hopefully after the reveal of ac red we get a tender for ghost of tsushima 2, obviously they are both different games but would be nice to see how they compare
@@qadi796 i have a supesion is gonna be an “rpg” and if its like odessy then im out lol, fyi Odessay a good exploration game bot a good ac one,
One thing ubisoft always done well is their maps and art design they slap, whoever teams are in charge of them are god like, however whoever teams are in charge of gameplay, story plot , graphical and pyisics engine , Ai direction and and character design are all just Azz Fr
@gsst6389 apparently the game will have a more better engine and will be the start of the new gen, I don't believe any of that shit🤣 also yes it's rpg confirmed, and it will be the most rpg game put of any of the ac games. And then after the ac HEXE game will be the darkest AC game and won't be rpg, idk what route there taking these games but for the love of god is it that hard to ask for a ac game with good stealth amazing parkour and a storyline that isn't just, the first hour being really cool then when your in the open world it's just bland, and yes I agree the visuals are absolutely stellar in most ac games especially odyssey but man they need to really update the facial animation, and other stuff, apparently they will revamp the animations for ac red but time will tell, ubisoft has a big year now I hope they deliver because its been a rough time for em, ac mirage was a step in the right direction but idk we will see
i got the game last week, it's a blast after those big open worlds,it gives vibes of old ac games, amazing
You're one of the most underrated youtuber keep it up man
oh thanks man! i will :)
I was really on the fence before release but decided to grab it at launch. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying an Assassin’s Creed game again. Of course I wish more things from the originals made it in the game but this was a great step in the traditional direction for the series.
AC Mirage was one of my favorites its got OG AC vibes and i love that.
@@matthewwebster3143 should I buy it?
Watching you just casually playing some random games is so much entertaining
:) glad you're enjoying!
Be nice if they’d mod the combat a bit. Make it feel more weighty. I get it’s supposed to be stealthy based, but I like the odd rampage 😅
The way you described it in the end - as a viby AC to pull out whenever you feel like doing cool assassin stuff - is exactly how I feel about it. It is surely one of my top go to games to scratch that AC itch now.
I like Ubisfot games, they're not all great, or not even good, but I do find them quite fun in their own way
Same
Aside talking about Watch Dogs 1 which for was the only really buggy game at launch for me
Which is out the norm cause Unity wasn't really buggy for me like it was for everyone but Watch Dogs was
Anyways all their games to me are good. None are bad but not all are great or amazing. Some are.
All AC games have at least been fun and enjoyable
Also my favorite franchise since day 1
Since my time for gaming also has declined I only buy maybe one game a year but always buy and play through any new assassin's creed when it releases
Also love that Ubi devs do seem to like their projects and continue to update them and do so by listening for the most part to what that community is asking for.
I just started playing Mirage at the end of November, then i stopped b/c I've been backed up on on games. I didnt care for Mirage when i 1st started but now i really like it now. I've learned from some of the games I've played in 2023 (which is the most games I've ever played in a year) is to fight through the beginning when ur naked & having ur hand held...2023 introduced me to alot of games i usually wouldn't play so it's been fun & im looking forward to the games this year...I started of 2023 playing trying out Origins which was the 1st Assassin's Creed game ive played & it's 1 of my favorite games ever...It kinda gave me training wheels to more advanced rpg games, & really thats what i ended up playing the whole year
13:10 The man next to you said “He will break his fingers one by one if he kept doing that” in Arabic..and yeah glad to see my favourite TH-camr running in my original city Baghdad ❤
I had genuine fun in this game. Feels more like the AC I grew up with. The way it was set up meant I had to use the tools(and wanted to use the tools) to complete missions. A welcome change over just having to spam light attack to complete all missions like Valhalla.
The map was smaller and more deliberate rather than a large barren and boring map. Contracts were also so much better than the repetitive stuff in the larger map games imo. The minimal collectibles is also welcome since that’s the most boring part of any game to me.
Definitely not perfect but hopefully it’s the start of a positive trajectory in terms of what I enjoy.
Just started Mirage after receiving it for Christmas. Its really enjoyable so far. Excited for the future of the franchise😁
I’m loving this game maybe just bc AC is my favorite series but I promise you guys just stop looking for the bad in video games and just enjoy them get immersed and play like a real assassin if yu want the results the hype of games and ppl looking for the bad in games is what makes most game suck for a individual
No
This game is awful.
The game’s really fun, I just wish there were more to do after 100%. I feel like Odyssey got that right with repeatable radiant quests.
I think a big issue is that gamers aren’t able to temper expectations. They want games to all be a certain way, but some don’t understand that not every game needs XYZ and I think people should start judging the game based on what it’s doing rather than what it’s not.

Watching these games I realize how smart the enemy AI was in AC Origins.
I now playing AC Syndicate and that game locks better and parktur is better , plus combat is super fast and super fun.

@@jojowoolin7542 Nah, those templar from rogue were making sense but the other games? They’re corrupt and evil

Yea both unity and syndicate have better Parkour, animations & graphics than the rest of the AC games. Origins is tied with syndicate in terms of visuals.
@@fire-typhoon123facts.
Honestly, Unity was the mark refined here.
Syndicate ended up trying to expand more with parkour with a gadget but by doing so made parkour useless.
Wish this game was longer. It's pretty damn good
It's been 4 years since the last main AC game (I don't count Mirage as a main entry) and people don't seem to care, but everyone went crazy when there was a pause between Unity and Origins
i really miss how people added to the personality of the character when they parkour. Like in AC2 people used to say "She must be beautiful, and he must be late" when they saw ezio running if my memory serves right.
Bro i loved this game , the way they made baghdad was absolutely phenomenal, y'all gave it a bad rating cause it's made by ubisoft but me as an history buff is ABSOLUTELY STUNNED
There is not a single bad enviroment ever been made by Ubisoft imo
I just feel like every game after Unity has been worse. The world in the game felt so alive and I loved the parkour.
i'm very tired of people dick riding unity, that game was ass in so many ways i swear rogue was the better game that released that year.
Ubisoft marketing pretty much lied saying that Mirage was a return to form. It was not,
Unity and Syndicate are still the last real AC games.
You feel that way because it is. They literally cut out Unity's parkour and are now adding it back in piece by piece, game by game with no guarantee of getting as good or better.
@@Phelaidar Technically it is a return to form but not the way they marketed and not to the extent we had been told. It's a step towards that but little more than a step.
@@65fireredit is definitely not a return to form. nothing about it plays like older AC games.
I loved it and it links odyssey and Valhalla together so now it’s a trilogy just like the AC 2 brotherhood and revelations. Which makes it even better.
I swear. I love EVERYTHING about Mirage. The story, the stealth, the combat, the characters, the soundtrack is one of the best in the series, it’s all just so good.
"That's the Cost of Seeing me: Death." - Jayvee, Philosopher, in 2024
I just want better ai. It feels like the ai in assassins creed hasn’t improved in a significant way since ac2. Stealth isn’t as fun when you know that guards will notice a body and immediately go back to acting as if nothing happened, or that you don’t really need to hide bodies 90% of the time because their paths are scripted and not complex and schedule+ ai driven like mgsv or hitman. This shouldn’t be acceptable in 2023/4
...that's stupid, a stealth game doesn't need complex AI pathing to be good, AC2 isn't exactly the greatest in terms of stealth either Brotherhood and Revelations hold up far better in terms of stealth and the guards in Mirage DO react to dead bodies it's even explained as when such a thing happens their "stress level goes up"
You know, it's the kind of thing that many people want in theory, but in practice you don't want. AI will go and destroy you at every turn, it won’t be fun.
you clearly havent played origins or valhalla
@@alexricko3543 Valhalla wasn't really hard because the AI was good it was hard because the AI sucked donkey dick Origins is valid tho
The game is a lot better after the recent update it still needs a few more updates but other than that yeah it's not bad. With the size of the map they can easily add new places for us to explore.
I’m absolutely loving AC Mirage right now, the parkour feels so much smoother after the update. Loving the classic AC vibes in the game as well. 👌🏻
the game looks even better when you turn up sharpness in the options
2:35 I think it’s because Ubisoft didn’t really promise us crazy stuff. They basically said here’s the game it’s pretty cool but it’s not that big so we’ll only charge 49,99 for it. I thought that was cool. They kept the game and all the marketing pretty simple
Ubisoft should cut you a commission, because this video just sold me on this game. The last few ACs I couldn’t bring myself to buy and play until a year or two after release, because they always seemed like such a slog. This looks genuinely fun yet modestly/reasonably sized.
in terms of story i couldnt give a shit, but the music is some of the best in the series, i really enjoyed the stealth, i really liked Baghdad; i loved the history aspect, how you learn about it when finding historical places, that was great, with pictures included or art, and credited as well, that was one of the best things about it, and the gameplay felt just fun overall, to me it was always clear that this game was more like testing the waters, that's why they already had plans for more rpg ac games, it's clearly lower budget too, but if this one was a hit they might continue doing them so idk if it will happen, but i definitely enjoyed it, it's not the best in the series at all, in any aspect, but it's the first ac i've finished since ac 4. Oh, and the arabic dub was pretty good too
this game defo needs a DLC and also more fighting and killing animations .
This game was a DLC by design, doesn't need more content. We need a proper AC game instead, that's not made as a cash grab
@@PalaDave99dude this game had more passion then the last 2 games, Mirage is not a glorified dlc hell it's probably on par with alot of better entries in the series and it was made of the back of the viking game
@@wwalton I really want to aggree, but I just can't see where that passion went. Don't get me wrong, I played the game, I can feel it was a step in the right-ish direction, but it was designed to be DLC originally and for me it really feels just like that for most of the runtime
@@PalaDave99 it is a dlc game like Spider-Man Miles Morales and since it’s getting a lot more love I believe the next ac could be better
i liked ac mirage but in my opinion there’s just not a lot that you can do after the main and side missions, it’s gets boring after a while
What I hate the most in Mirage is teleport assassination abilty, Bare hands zip line, and no double assassination with assassination chain up to 4 enemies
When he said this game was well received a had a good laugh. Great video.
Even if Assassin's Creed Mirage was very much appreciated and also has a lot of faults, the total lack of budget and the fact that they are on the same engines as Valhalla, but I still really appreciate that, I see that the Ubisoft Bordeaux studio clearly loved working on it and that they love the license.
I really want to give them another AC to do but with more budget and time.
The carolingian coin heist was really fun had some unique mission aspects
still needs to be on steam
Great video thanks for sharing!
Although…if I was playing a drinking game & took a shot every time “back-eject” was said…I’d probably be dead 😆 🥃 💀
I didn't became a fan of Mirage, I've been with the saga since the beginning and actually enjoyed the change of pace that the most recent AC games took, while I recognize that not everyone agrees - but Mirage wasn't a good AC game in my opinion.
We have a backstory of this unlikable new villain that we are suppose to care? For the record this is not a game, this is what was originally set out to be, an AC Valhala DLC.
It's basically a marketing stunt to get the old timers like myself enjoying a game with some original elements (stealth, notoriety, the brotherhood) however it does this in such a superficial way that I really didn't care at all for anyone in this game.
As you would expect the landscapes and the exploration is top notch, you are transported back in time to 800s Baghdad which is of course always a treat to be able to see these world locations in their past, one of the main reasons that got me into AC in the first place, but that's about it...
Characters are boring and irrelevant, the protagonist is voided of any personality with a fake sense of duty that no one knows where it comes from, the parkour and fighting gameplay is sticky and not smooth at all, the plot is a copy paste from the original AC game, as much as I liked the set we already had a similar AC game in an approximate age and geography so might've been a better idea to just do a remake!
I am eager for the titles to come specially Code Red since it has been a long request from fans, an AC in Feudal Japan, but this was probably the most unnecessary and irrelevant game in all AC franchise and worst of all we are left with this Basim / Loki character for the foreseeable future which is terrible.... Really hoping Code Red does a good job of revamping this beloved franchise.
Now only if they applied this in a good AC title.
Back-A-Jak should be a cookie
I love watching people who enjoy Mirage like I do
One more slight improvement I think they could do is to increase the distance of long jumps as sometimes i try to jump to a building or rope & it looks & feels like I should absolutely be able to make that jump but Basim misses it by a few inches or by one foot? Whether or not they'll do this is doubtful cause I doubt Ubisoft Bordeaux will find this comment.
Jayvee selling me on this game. I was gonna drop the series entirelly but this is looking fun
ubi typically puts their games on deep discount shortly after launch, so if it isn't already you should be able to grab it for cheap!
I had a warning and those freaking people at the Bazaar freaking started calling me out and calling the guards. smh. LOL
Beautiful graphics.. story was fine too. My problem is that the game had alot of micro stutters on PC
Honestly. The update along with messing around with the controls to have run being tied to R1. Makes the games movement flow so much better
I still don't understand why people like this game so much....like it's good and goes back to the roots of parkour and promotes stealth again.....but it should not be the love letter to Ac fans as I believe we deserve way better.....I would love an AC game to introduce free flow parkour and by that I mean it should not hold our hands back in terms of experiment and mastering parkour should take the most amount of time so that it feels like a satisfying progression.....for example in Spiderman game we get assist on web swinging and if it is turned off it may not look as cool but it really needs time to master web swinging and it feels like a challenge and it is realistic and your input has more control in it than the assisted animations and speed previously.....I want a parkour focused Assassin's Creed game where when you jump from a roof top of one building to another there is no ledge stopping you and it is is so free flow you get a sense of scale and immersion...same goes for when you do leap of faith instead of an animation it would be a bitton prompt to do that dive and I want enemy AI to be a lot better it should be a topic of discussion alone in every Ubisoft game as their AI is somehow the worst like so unrealistic and why can't such s big company do something that was done way back in the days of MGS 3
Tbh I love the setting Baghdad as I feel the map is designed for parkour and given a lot of love and care and Ubisoft can make worlds but I want that immersion of being an Assassin in these games just like I felt in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora and that's the best quality of that game that there is a sense of immersion in Pandora
The problem is that the community is demanding and expects too much from new titles, Ubisoft is working on many AC titles at the same time, this game was given the dedication but they did not have enough time to give it more immersion as you say, It is also a very good game for me and a good path for the franchise to take.
@@Usuario05052I agree people complain to much and it’s toxic. When they released revelations people wanted a new assassin they gave them it and they moaned then they wanted open world again Ubisoft delivered and again they moaned. No matter what they complain. I loved this game.

No.
3:02 caught me off guard
This game is like that one section of Breaking Bad where Hank is trying to learn how to walk again after becoming crippled and gets really into minerals. No I wont elaborate.
That is suprisingly accurate
I’ve got maybe 10hours in this game as of today. This is to me, truly Quality over Quantity. The 10 hours I’ve spent in mirage is an absolute blast. I’ve got 100+ in odyssey and Valhalla and i can’t think of anything memorial besides Odysseys world. Odysseys world is truly 10/10.
Valhalla world was atrocious
It's funny if the NPC "is not blind" it might will get negative review by gamer. I remember sniper elite did that with real human response time and distance, make the game unbelieveably hard to beat.
Was stuck in the exact back ejection thing he did (2:05) but trying to sprint out of a pile of hay maybe 20 times into jumping straight off a roof when I broke free and into deleting the dog shit excuse of a game.
AC Mirage is one of the only games that makes me wanna use gadgets and tools and stuff.
That’s right! I’m here early for one of these 🙌🏻
I was criticized when this game was released saying it's very easy to defeat bosses but it isn't if u play with higher difficulty it's difficult to complete the missions.
ac mirage felt real good to play. i felt like a real ac game
I picked this game up a couple weeks ago. If parkour was worse than it is now before, I dread to think of what it was like
There's a lot about this game that I really enjoy, but I feel like it has the worst combat and parkour controls that I've seen from this series in a long time
But man I love the setting, I love this classic feeling of just running around and grabbing collectibles and getting all of the viewpoints synchronized. I spend all my time kind of immediately doing that which gets me used to the map and the controls. Then finally I start to tackle the story a bit
But it does give me a classic feeling that I got when I first played Assassin's Creed 2, and that's just an innate joy in running around the city causing trouble and getting in chases. If the last couple of Grand theft Auto games have my favorite car chases in all of gaming, Assassin's Creed has always had my favorite on foot chases.
They must fix sticky robe...just look at he's legs
Just imagine whole team couldn't make cloth phsyc
Excited to play mirage on permadeath mode
Haven't laugh in awhile and watching you accidentally messing up the contract of environmental kill cracks me up! Happy to have discovered this video! Cheers man!
They need to give bordeaux more freedom to make more ac games these guys nailed mirage
I still feel like current games are slower than the first ones but I could be wrong, haven't played them for a long time
I’m still waiting for them to put NG+ in Valhalla
i might acctually get the game now
My question is why does Ubisoft not make AC games co-op like far cry, I feel like it would actually do pretty good and be a cool feature, thoughts?
I just replayed the game post the new game plus update, i dunno but halfway into the game i got vsync tears and fps drops sometimes on the PS5 in performance mode....
All they did want made the parkour fast which is what y’all wanted so in reality the game was fine all along
Hold your stick up, to go up
Side ejects are even cooler
i love this game so much
Ghost of tsushima or this? I have a little time of work and trouble deciding which game to play😊. I loved all the classic assassins creed but am afraid of the new assassinations not looking as authentic as they used to.
Honestly in terms of straight up bang for buck Ghost of Tsushima both are great stealth games and are honestly pretty equal in that aspect and I consider Mirage to be up there in terms of AC games but it is very short, I got 40 hours out of it before I beat the game but normal people will probably beat it within the projected time but Ghost of Tsushima is to good to not recommend
@wwalton thanks! Well that suits me fine coz i dont have a lot of time to play anyway. I think im opting towards AC, cheers
Hey jayvee I'm really curious why you refuse to upload spiderman 2 gameplay, you mention you played it in October and I've been waiting to see a video but nothing.
I fkin hate that I ended the game before this update. Absolutely hated the parkour in launch build of this
I justnrefuse to play another Assassin's Creed after Unity.
I liked origins, odyssey,
and valhalla - but its not the same. So I'm just done untilnthey make anotherone like it, or atleast the parkour style.
I love ac and I'm happy that people like this game but I feel like we deserve better than this
i miss the side ejects from ac1 and ezio trilogy
i just bought this cuz the sale, and this game is so fire man🔥
Honestly, I didn't even know this was out...when is the japan one coming?
Its 40 bucks for all the packs and the game is it worth it?
literally beat the game a day before this update.
I still feel the game is clunky, often times I’m faster at responding to combat the game itself I find I’m trying to attack but I hit a invisible stamina drain in combat where both I and my enemies just freeze for a few seconds allowing them to get in a strike on me where I can’t perry it only block away. It’s pretty terrible
I want this game on steam... :(
Feels worse during combat you feel dead clunky and parkour for running up walls and climbing feels trash.
I am having a ton of fun playing mirage I am trying to play full stealth mode and its been fun. The combat feels a bit clunky to me n thats my only complain about this game.
I really wish they add different assassinations animations, the same ways get boring 😭
I just would like Basim to move a little faster
BAKI-JECT
i dont get why things that worked they made worst wtih every game... some idiots at ubisoft
Hopefully it feels less automatic and more like a platformer.
What about the fight gameplay ! It definitely needs an update too !
they should add more contracts
idk why tf they took out back ejects in the 1st place
It was there, but didn't reach higher heights - this started at Syndicate through Valhalla, and it was due to the lack of buildings and parkour routes in those games as well as large empty spaces.
