    I listen to a lot of podcasts. Medical experts, science, etc. This podcast is so real. Even if the experiences aren’t identical, Jeremy gets to the human connections and common struggles. This conversation resonates with everyone. Thank you.

    I did the medically supervised shakes as well as everything else. I went from obese to normal weight 3-4 times before I finally decided to have bariatic surgery. I was in a bad place and I knew I was going to keep going up.Whereas before when I got to a certain weight, I would lose it but because of so many repeated failures, I couldn't even lose the weight.
    I lost 115 lbs. and am now fit and healthy. I run, swim, bike, hike, do multiple boot camps, weight lifting, dancing....you name it...I do it! I am fully vegan and am doing well. While the surgery certainly helped, I credit most of my success with going fully vegan SOS free. I was actually plant based when I was obese but a junk food eater with few veggies.
    In my particular case, this was a life saver but after speaking to a nutritionist and hearing from other plant based doctors, the surgery has maybe a 30% success rate. I am almost 64 and I was very committed to investing myself in maintenance and lifestyle change. I actually paid more attention to that than I did the weight loss. I can't even begin to tell you how many people I've come across on forums and in real life that had the surgery and either didn't lose all the weight or if they lost it, gained it back.
    In other words, I am considered an anomaly. It worked for me and after considering everything, I would do it again BUT I wouldn't recommend it for the average person because unless you are willing to invest in a plant based lifestyle, preferably vegan, the chances of you being successful are slim. I was simply fortunate. A similar story to mine who you may have heard of is Chuck Carroll from the Exam Room.

    aw, it made me so sad to hear how his father made fun of him when he was exercising as a child. That is so terribly scarring. What a lovely gentleman; I'm so happy he's doing well now. Another terrific interview, thank you!

    Stumbled Across you about a month ago and then recently about 10 days ago . I really feel like a lot of your content resonates with the average person.I like your cooking videos I like your interviews and I hope you do very well because I certainly enjoy listening and watching you. The best part of watching your videos is knowing you appear to be like the every day person in the same situation.. I have lost 145 pounds and have kept it off for 12 years. I’ve been whole food plant-based for four years and would never trade it for the world. I wish you nothing but the best on your channel. It was another enjoyable Interview

    I resonate with Tony’s story. I love how real and personal this interview was. Thank you so much. I’ve lost 15 lbs so far on WFPB and walking with strength training. My goal is another 40 lbs.

    It’s nice to hear vegan success stories. I, myself, lost 80 lbs via low-carb and am now trying to build more muscle and not lose any more weight. Never hungry and choosing not to eat added sugar or grains which also rules out highly processed foods. I avoid all the keto junk foods as well. Only whole foods for me.

    I really appreciated Tony’s thoughtful approach. I often feel that weigh loss stories get hung up on just FOOD & EXERCISE
    but really it’s the brain! I think his experience with meditation and self awareness is so important. I could have listened to him speak for way longer.
    Thanks for a great interview.

    Exactly been plant base its grate , but people that is vegan means for animal rights, for ethical, and its not ok in that position everyone eats what they want becouse there are victims involve, thats why exist the activis for human an non human, all injustice must end when we untherstand we are hurting others.

    Hi, i love watching these videos . Did you guys ever weigh and measure food? Or were you really able to eat whatever quantities you wanted and still lose weight?

    • @pbwithjeremy
      @pbwithjeremy  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I calorie counted for longer than I'd like to admit when I first started - but I stopped myself from doing it once I had a solid grasp of the caloric value of most foods. Thanks for watching!

      I don't listen to as many health-based ones as I once did, but here's the podcasts I'm currently listening to:

      @pbwithjeremy Love my audible book membership. Listening to as many plant based books I can find. Currently listening to Dr William Li's "Eat to Beat Your Diet". Mastering Diabetes, Chef AJ's book, lots of youtubers (but i have to watch recipe videos when I'm at home which is rare). I eat mostly raw. 100% plants.
