LOVED this lady! Beautiful and inspiring 🥰 I’m 67 and went wfpb in August. Have autoimmune disorders and fibromyalgia and I have hope after hearing her story 🙏 Love you Chef AJ 💜
Yes I relate I did Pilates for bout 10 yrs, then got fibro, arthritis bladder pain syndrome, chronic fatigue to mention a few, it all seemed to come on at once, that was discouraging after yrs of excercise, but as you KNOW I'm sure, fibro makes u pretty sore with minimal exercise ..so u gotta be careful or in bed for days..i have back and neck problems also. But the depression going from 5 days a week of Pilates a hr a day, till getting disability for bladder and all pain, I do what I can THOU as far as stretching and moving, but with constant pain, and no pain meds from my dr, it's hard.
I'm 58 almost 59 and I worry it's too late for me. You really inspired me, Margie! I've been vegan for about a year and a half, but haven't been eating healthy enough. The new year is a great time to start! Thank you!
I actually cheered when she held up the forks over knives video! I am so happy for her! And so grateful to the person who directed her toward that video. It changed my life too!
relating to weight struggles, Margie's interview resonated with my own journey. Aspect Health played a role, offering personalized plans for a healthier lifestyle. Margie's inspiring shift to a plant-based diet echoes my own positive experience with dietary changes. her commitment and tips like carrying air-fried potatoes are relatable and empowering. grateful for real stories promoting health transformations.
My little grandson at 4 asked me the same thing and now that he is 5, and I decided to get healthy. This guest is such an Inspiration. I am 66 and have morbid obesity and Diabetes with CKD. I have been heavy my entire adult life. Grew up in Tx on Meat, and fried foods. I'm really struggling but I want to get off insulin. I just started listening to you on TH-cam. She is encouraging, especially when she says what I've known for years. It took a long time to get this way, and I need to be patient. I Struggle with standing and preparing meals. I use a crockpot a lot.
Great video and super for you for what you have archived. If you ever should get week and can't keep the weight off, check out the Carnivore Diet. If you do that for a month or so, you can get back on track very easily. You can certainly be proud of yourself. Keto diet is also good because it teaches you what foods to avoid not for weight loss per se, but for life long health.
@@Gesundheit888I agree wholeheartedly. Carnivore is so easy because you can eat until satiety and never feel hungry. I mostly do keto but a few times a year do Carnivore for 3-4 weeks at a time. I also mostly eat OMAD but occasionally want to eat more frequently, like during the holidays or on special occasions, and then I do 18/6 intermittent. I don't know why people think its so hard...make up your mind and just do it. It's will power more than hunger.
I love these interviews! You know all the right questions to ask and are so encouraging to all of us, AJ! You are a delight to listen to, as are your guests. Thank you so much! Louise J
This is such a wonderful interview. I know this works. Whether they believe it or not it WAS divine intervention. There are no coincidences. I am happy for you!
God bless you, Margie.♥️ Your story is a lot like mine. I'm also 72 and am now plant based. Sooo happy to feel better and be thinner and healthier. Thank you and AJ!
Hi, my name is Sharon Jackson and I lost 85 pounds and still working at it. I am diabetic, hypertension, and poio at the age of 4 years. It can be done, but you must be consistent and keep your head high!!
Saying no to food that harms you and a resounding 'YES' to yourself, your wellbeing which eminates out to all around you, blessing them with all the possibilities of a lighter and longer life. Thank you both, you both made me feel that I was 'around the table' with you. Love conquers all. From Nicola in Oxford
I gave up animal meat as a teenager and am 63 now. I did eat occasional fish, eggs and cheese and no dairy since forty - so 23 years. Now I think I will go back to total plant based after watching this. I have had the Calcium Heart Scan done twice now 10 years apart and both were ZERO - meaning NO cardiovascular plaque whatsoever. I am so very pleased. So hopefully in 10 years at 73 I will get ZERO again. This was a great story.
I was on the cover of Woman's World too and they did the same thing to me as they did with Margie about creating their own recipes and not using mine. I will always be bothered by that. Anyway, great story- what an amazing transformation!!
I am a little over a week being “back on the wagon”. I already feel better! I just felt drawn to watch this interview and now I know why. I have trigeminal neuralgia, headaches, migraines, diabetes, high blood pressure, overweight, the list goes on. In just a week, my blood pressure has gone down 20 points! And I lost a few pounds! I’m 60 years old. This interview gives me such hope that I can finally do it and stick with it! Thank you, Margie and Chef AJ! My new goal- just don’t quit!💚
Thank you AJ .That was such an inspiring show. I hope to see her back on with you and Dr. McDougal on New Years with her sister Helen and perhaps even her husband 🥔🥦🍎🍋🙌🏻
This interview was such a blessing! I suffer from many of the same issues she had. I went wfpb 10 months ago with Dr. G. And then found starch solution and forks over knives. My healing has been slow but I do feel better in my body. Hearing her daughter took 3 years to heal is encouraging to me! Thank you. Would love to hear from the rest of the family...daughter, sister ect. Thanks Chef AJ for all you do. Happy New Year ❤
Thankyou Margie for your inspirational story. Your pictures are going up on my vision board to let me see that women can lose substantial amounts of excess weight even over 60 years old. After lots of "fails" as other weight loss attempts have stopped working for me as I've gotten older I'm just getting everything together to start next Monday! "Chomping at the bit" to get started! I haven't felt this hopeful about fixing my weight in years!
I just loved this video! Margie Burton has inspired me so much. I've never seen such a radiant, glowing, feminine, poised, polished woman like Margie in her early 60s, let alone at 72. I wish The Starch Solution has been around sooner. My mother went through the Hell of the damned the way Margie did, with NO HELP but toxic prescriptions from idiot doctors. She suffered so much, and died at 72. This is a remarkable story of transformation and recovery. Thank you AJ and Margie, you two are saving lives every day. ❤
Wow. I’m not even 10 minutes into this and already things from her childhood sound so much like mine. I remember getting called thunder thighs too. I am looking forward to hearing the rest of her story. The before and after picture looked amazing.
I am 71 yrs old and have been plant based for 9 years and have never felt better. At the beginning I lost 29 lbs, so went down to 9 st 10 lbs. But, even though I am still plant based, I am now up to 11 st 2 lbs. The problem is I love chocolate and even though I only eat plant based chocolate, it isn’t healthy! So plant based foods can still be unhealthy, you just have to be careful. I can’t stand being overweight - I’m only 5’ 2” with a small frame and used to be a professional dancer so I now need to take control and get back to feeling ‘light’ again!! Thank you, your video is so motivational!! ❤
Omg! Great interview and very inspiring. I have fallen off the plant based wagon. I’ve gone from 165 lbs to 205 lbs over the past 2 years. I’m 5’7”. I love the tip about the air fried potatoes from when I get a craving.
My niece and nephews got me to quit smoking when I was in my 20s I thank them all the time. Look into acupuncture for the headaches. My Mom had migraines from age 11 to 76 until I convinced her to get accupuncture she hasn’t had a migraine since she finished the accupuncture series (10 visits), 5 years ago,.
The care she has taken of her sister is wonderful. Learning to care for yourself too is the hardest thing but we must all do this. ❤❤ Well done to you all.
I started dieting as it's given me knee issues back neck and hard to get up etc I'm exercising good but, still trying to eat right that's a struggle. I'm an emotional eater. I won't give up! You look great!
Still watching but want to say that in 1980 my Mom got Trigeminal neuralgia and a neurologist sent her to a hospital where either with electricity or alcohol injection (unsure) paralysed that nerve and she was pain free thereafter.
I was always a big girl and I was told i needed to loose weight. My sister and my aunt told me about intermittent fasting...well i was 247lb now im 215lb on the fasting...and im continued fasting for the rest of my life...i just stop eating at 7pm...exercise a little and stop eating junk food
Awww. Dr Goldner! 😢What a treasure she is. What an amazing woman and the strength she has in this deepest dark time.... she cares so much for people while dealing with loss. What a blessing to all. Congratulations on your success and the way you have touched so many others!❤
I really want my mother to try the WFPB lifestyle. She was slender all her life (even after 3 kid) until she went through perimenopause. She is 69 now and has gained weight through the middle and has at leasttripled her breast size. I am so concerned for her health and even breast cancer. I'm in my second year post menopause and have maintained my weight effortlessly on a WFPB diet. I switched from a vegetarian to a WFPB diet in 2019. I have mentioned the health benefits, but don't know how to get her to switch. She loves her sweets. She has always made me and my vegan daughter special dishes, but she still prepares the SAD ones for herself and everyone else. She always loves the food I make. My Mom and my daughter are my 2 best friends and I want to have her to be around and healthy for as long as possible.
This is such a wonderful interview AJ. Of course all your interview are fabulous, but this is one I'll watch more than once, and share for sure! It is irritating that the magazine kind of sabotaged the message a little by not asking for the BEST recipes from the person they were featuring.
What a beautiful person! Thank you for sharing such pearls of wisdom for health and longevity! Its so important to act before it’s too late! Every person has an expiry date- extend yours and live well!
I was a vegetarian for about 25 years Now vegan mostly plant based for nearly 6 years. When I was a vegan for about a year, I said to my husband I don't want to have dead animals in our house anymore. He said I had better join you which he has done. He doesn't have a problem with his weight but he did lose weight. The only thing he does like is bread and chocolate. Bit difficult for me because I love bread and chocolate. so do find it hard sometimes.
Oh my gosh Chef AJ. What a lovely woman. Loved her story. I wanted to hear more about her husband, how he likes eating this way, did he lose weight, what were his health benefits (if any). I believe she started to say, but you popped another question, and she got diverted. But I'm sure he's healthier than what he was, thanks to her. And wow, "why are you fat grandma?" Whoa! This video was such great timing. I'm one of those that has fallen off the wagon. I want so badly to get back on. Margie is such an inspiration, as is Janet, the Plant Powered Pedaler (love her too). 2024 has got to be my year. Wonderful video! Both Margie and Janet have achieved such great success. They are my heroes, as are you Chef AJ.
Start now, I did and reversed my pre diabetes and high cholesterol. Pre diabetes was 6.3. Now 5.4, high cholesterol was 136 LDL now 93. My doctor was elated. Said seems as if she has to hire me as a spokesperson. This was October to January 4, 2024.
@@gennisparry4352 WOW. You really got such great results! I'm taking the plunge. I signed up for the 30-day Reboot; starts Tues., Jan 16. I'm scared I won't like the food. I printed out the menus and recipes. They don't look too bad. My big culprits are the SOS buggers. So, it will be interesting to see how my taste buds neuroadapt without them. Wish me luck!
I have fibromyalgia and this is such an inspirational true story, I’m 58 and I’ve given up hope, so I’m now getting motivated by this inspirational lady to eat this way. Thank you Chef AJ for all the great guests you have on the show.
I have ordered my books and anxious to get started. I'm 65 and I keep thinking I need to just eat carnivore or keto and that will fix me but I'm a blood type A and according to the book Eat for Your Blood Type I'm a vegetarian at heart. I could live on potatoes I love them. May I ask what blood type you are Margie? If you ready this..
I love the two of you together and I really enjoyed the show where we got to meet Margie’s sister! I have an adult daughter who is also intellectually disabled and I’m praying that she gets the same results with her weight! 🙏
I like how the grandson asked her why she was so fat and from there it hit her big time about her Being over weight. It reminds me of when I overheard my daughter praying to God saying “ God please help my mummy to stop smoking. It has been 38 years since I’ve stopped. Great broadcast this was. Kind of scary however to think of the changes and education ahead.
Brilliant. Thanks, Margie, for sharing your story. Bravo. Chef AJ, you're a terrific interviewer! Plant-based all the way. I think many, many people have no idea how great they could feel. If they gave this kind of real food a chance, they'd never look back.
Real life stories like this are truly inspiring and beautiful. The world needs a story like Margie's to get more people to switch to WFPB diet for their own health and the health of the planet!
Margie's story is inspiring and relatable. I can relate as I started an SOS whole foods plant based diet at age 64 (this month is my 2 year anniversary). I have to admit that I slipped into the pleasure trap (did not have meat, but sugar and processed foods slipped in) over the holidays, but am now back to being committed to this way of eating! I live in the New York area and wish that I had as many options for connecting with plant based people and eating at vegan restaurants as you do out there. Many thanks for all you do. Your books, especially Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss, have been my guides.
Now 64 years old . I started the gym at 25 years old and have gone to the gym ever since. On no meds , feel great. Have had many challenges. Stress is the main thing that creates disease.
I liked her the way she was. I learned from experience that sometimes you need a bit of weight whenyou lose weight naturally from illness it’s not good to have no fat
Hi, I've just watched your video and found this lady very inspiring. She looks great. I was diagnosed last June with T2D and was given the option of lifestyle change or medication so I chose the liestyle change. I started following a man called Dr Ken Berry who advocates the keto diet. I illiminated all processed foods, sugar, diet sodas and alcohol from my diet and ate only meat and vegetables. By September I had lost 56 pounds and totally cured T2D. My husband also came on the same journey with me and he too came off his blood pressure meds and his liver function was completely in the healthy range. His Dr and my Dr actually called us to tell us how impressed they were with our recent blood work. I wish the two eating groups would have a meeting of minds as they actually agree on a lot of the same principles, i.e remove processed foods and sugar etc. I would like to try a plant based diet but it is definitely not he only way as myself and my husband have proved this beyond all reasonable doubt.
Chef AJ and Marggie what a comfort to hear your stories...loved the teeth one as i am facing this conumdrum now and feeling sneaky about hiding it! so honesty is now my goal xxx love the mask idea too LOL xx n
How inspiring this truly is. You look great. I'm going to try and change myself. I am 61 and want to drop that muffin top. My question is, when you eat out... what do you eat? Also, when you dropped weight, what happened to the skin? Did you have to have surgery to remove it? I'm so glad this caught my eye. Keep up the good work, and I hope cheif will do a follow up. Thanks
Thank you Chef AJ, I really appreciated this video! I at one time was doing plant based & had lost some weight, but I have since go off just plant based & have added back some animal products dairy, fish and even a little chicken. I have gained back my weight. 😟 My husband & I both try to eat mostly plant based , but obviously its not enough as we both are not loosing. I am really trying to get back into the plant based way of eating. It is Very hard when all of your friends eat the way you are trying to avoid. I will try bring something healthy & be more prepared and have something on hand 👍
I do vertical reality workouts (With oculus headset). They are amazing and low impact since I’ve had 2 hip surgeries. Supernatural work out is the best program (I’m addicted to all the workouts) I am vegetarian some Vegan (thanks to my daughter). But I’m moving to all vegan. Bread is my bad device. Thank you both this has pushed me to get totally Vegan! 😅
What a beautiful lady you can tell she’s have Jesus God continue blessing us 🙏 thanks you chef AJ for everything you do you are amazing ❤when you coming to Cape Coral 🪸 area please 🙏♥️😘
I find that if I go 3 or 4 days without eating meat, I feel sick and shaky. Are there some people that cannot have a plant based diet due to their physiology? Its very confusing to hear some experts saying that protein is essential for weightloss, and others saying a plant based diet is essential. And by the way, I have no need or desire to live to 120 years old. I just want to be fairly pain free and self sufficient without drugs.
As a nearly 50 year vegan who has interviewer over 1,000 doctors I have never heard that. Feel free to watch live on Monday and ask this questions to Dr. McDougall as he doesn't read the comments.
But plant base does not mean little protein. Everything that is alive has protein. A cup of lentils has as much protein as a 3 oz steak. Maybe you’re feeling sick and shaky without meat because your body is going through withdrawal from all the toxins in meat. Just a theory.
Agree, maybe ask Dr. McDougall on one of chef AJs McDougall Monday interviews. He has a lot of useful information. There’s a lot of conflicting information, but he’s a doctor that has seen actual patients. He has some great insights.
Yes, you could need meat in your diet. Vegans will never admit that people have different digestive systems and some of us cannot digest plant foods as well as others. There's a reason so many vegans are finding that when they switch from a vegan diet to carnivore, they're healing their health issues. Try carnivore for 30 days and see how you feel. I'm on the precipice of switching from SAD diet to keto and if that hasn't fully healed my issues and I'm not losing weight then I'll be going full carnivore to see if that works. Veganism is a great thing but unfortunately it isn't great for everyone and you may be one of those people. I wish you luck in your health journey. ❤
❤❤❤❤❤ solanine sensitive or something can't eat regular potatoes without feeling arthritic after a few weeks. I've tried numerous times. Sweet potato is the alternative. Autoimmune issues.
Im sorry you can’t eat them yet. Can you eat oats or beans? I’m not diagnosed as I don’t pursue MD help anymore but if I eat potato my bladder won’t release fully and I have lots of retention. Like a constricting in my urethra or something it’s weird. I hope one day it will be gone.
@@cornstar1253we do hope you outgrow the stubborn thinking & enjoy life so much from deciding to become healthier that you choose to encourage others instead of playing silly games. Free choice - choose wisely & take care. Really..you'll feel better & be happier leaving the animals alone & eating the plants. Challenge yourself- you can do it!
Sweet potatoes/yams are great! Many ways to enjoy them. Over time you may be able to reintroduce them. A thought..you do cut out the potato eyes, don't eat if green, etc. right? as that is toxic to the body..some people don't do that surprisingly. Keep patience as you make changes & you will heal up!

She has always made me and my vegan daughter special dishes, but she still prepares the SAD ones for herself and everyone else. She always loves the food I make. My Mom and my daughter are my 2 best friends and I want to have her to be around and healthy for as long as possible.
She is a gem. I love how she cares for her sister.
Back in those days we were a much, much thinner society. Look at today’s children compared to back when we were children and it was a vast difference.
@@happycook6737 Oh my gosh - thank you so much.
Very inspiring story, thank you Margie and Chef AJ.
Loved this interview. So inspiring. Glad Ms Margie got a new lease on life.
Could Margie Burton also make all the regular recipes she uses as a staple available and share them through your channel, please?
Sweet . So inspiring. Loved that her and her husband are healthier together. You look terrific. ❤❤
Beautiful lady with a wonderful smile. Thank you for sharing your story.
Agreed! How wonderful her husband supported her in that way. The doctor as well! I love lovely people!
I like this story! Gives me hope. I'm 47 and weights up and in perimenopause. It sucks!
Forks over knives is fantastic!
If you ready this..
addicted to the same foods lifetime change is so HARD but it should be done....food addiction is not handled well by society
What a wonderful story. Margie is gracious, a true gem, genuine inspiration. Great interview!
UNBELIEVABLE congratulations
I love the two of you together and I really enjoyed the show where we got to meet Margie’s sister!
I have an adult daughter who is also intellectually disabled and I’m praying that she gets the same results with her weight! 🙏
I like how the grandson asked her why she was so fat and from there it hit her big time about her Being over weight.
It reminds me of when I overheard my daughter praying to God saying “ God please help my mummy to stop smoking.
It has been 38 years since I’ve stopped. Great broadcast this was. Kind of scary however to think of the changes and education ahead.
This was a fabulous interview, what a beautiful guest . Thankyou 🥰
Brilliant. Thanks, Margie, for sharing your story. Bravo. Chef AJ, you're a terrific interviewer!
Plant-based all the way. I think many, many people have no idea how great they could feel. If they gave this kind of real food a chance, they'd never look back.
What a positive, lovely lady! Thank you.
Thank you both for this delightful interview❣
Love your story! I am my own worst enemy and just need to follow through. Thank you for the encouragement ❤
Real life stories like this are truly inspiring and beautiful. The world needs a story like Margie's to get more people to switch to WFPB diet for their own health and the health of the planet!
She seems to have LESS LOOSE SKIN than most people who lost 100 pound...
Is it the green smoothies and all the nutrition???
Margie's story is inspiring and relatable. I can relate as I started an SOS whole foods plant based diet at age 64 (this month is my 2 year anniversary). I have to admit that I slipped into the pleasure trap (did not have meat, but sugar and processed foods slipped in) over the holidays, but am now back to being committed to this way of eating! I live in the New York area and wish that I had as many options for connecting with plant based people and eating at vegan restaurants as you do out there. Many thanks for all you do. Your books, especially Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss, have been my guides.
Wow, what a great story. I hope she got to meet Dr. McDougall. I would love her potato soup recipe! I love potato soup.
Replay❤. Loved re-watching this so much.
I’m putting tatars in my purse now! Thank you!!!
Now 64 years old . I started the gym at 25 years old and have gone to the gym ever since. On no meds , feel great. Have had many challenges. Stress is the main thing that creates disease.
I am certainly proof of your stress comment
True though food is the cause of most diseases
Such an inspiring story from a lovely lady. Much love from Spain ❤️
I liked her the way she was. I learned from experience that sometimes you need a bit of weight whenyou lose weight naturally from illness it’s not good to have no fat
You are so very wrong - excess weight is the cause of the very worst health problems
She was on 18 medications, in continual pain, and struggling with very poor health. You said you like her that way?
I'd love all the recipes for the food discussed tonight. I feel closer to changing my eating habits.
Just try it Leslie- you will be amazed!
What an incredible interview! So much great information! I needed this! Thank you Margie and thank you Chef AJ!
This is the video that I NEEDED to see. Thank you xx
Great transformation, and great body positivity movement, gain the health back, eat right plant food, not eat life
Chef AJ and Marggie what a comfort to hear your stories...loved the teeth one as i am facing this conumdrum now and feeling sneaky about hiding it! so honesty is now my goal xxx love the mask idea too LOL xx n
Thanks
Thank you Margie now I know it's not to late ❤
Supernatural work out is the best program (I’m addicted to all the workouts)
I am vegetarian some Vegan (thanks to my daughter). But I’m moving to all vegan. Bread is my bad device.
Thank you both this has pushed me to get totally Vegan! 😅
How did she get rid of the loose skin on arms, legs and belly?
What a beautiful lady you can tell she’s have Jesus God continue blessing us 🙏 thanks you chef AJ for everything you do you are amazing ❤when you coming to Cape Coral 🪸 area please 🙏♥️😘
Fantastic story
Perhaps it was detox.
Forks Over Knives changed my life, too 🙏
He "kind of" made a difference for her sister?! 90 lbs gone and diabetes decimated?! Miracles!!!
I just watched. What a sweet and inspiring lady. I'm trying to start this way of eating. I've got the book the starch solution.
Thank you what an inspiration. Wonderful.
She is an inspiration. So frustrating that her son is a doctor, but too skeptical for his own good, as well as that of his patients.
Carnivore worked for me!
I'm glad you found your way.
Such a fine interview and a really fine Way to introduce the why and how to make the transition to a low fat whole food plant Based diet - 🎵🍀🎶💚🙏😀
One of your best interviews! So inspiring! I’ve been following you Chef AJ for several years!!
@@CalmVibesVee plants and grass seed are for starvation prevention. Meat is to thrive.
@@DoyuLoveMeMay you be blessed for your encouragement. TY
I hope to be able to have swt potato soon Lord willing.
Another great transformation story!
Fabulous interview! Margie is lovely and so inspiring 😊!
Wow! Her figure is amazing. And she is a beautiful woman. Even when she was fat her face was pretty. Well done Margie.
