If LA is known for burger contributions, it is the chili cheeseburger from Tommys. The region also started using Russian dressing as a burger sauce. Martins are a East coast thing, you can't even buy Martin's potato rolls on the West coast.
From your review I think 6.7 is generous really. Given how much you rave about the good places I was shocked it was over a 5. Congratulations Callum and Mrs Callum. Number 1 dad tip- enjoy your time while they're growing up and savour every moment. When they ask to play/do something together... Always say yes. You will never get that time back! Kids are amazing.... Be that cool dad that gets involved.
Lads, I’ve owned popup restaurants in pubs for 7 years now. It sounds like the fella who actually owns the concept gives a shit, that’s why he’s imported the buns from LA or wherever. The training with the chef is obviously lacking, every question you ask him he’s like a rabbit in headlights, hasn’t got a scooby. It’s looks like weekday lunch time - only one chef in there cooking and serving. Trust, I’ve been in that situation where my staff have let me down loads of times. Boss man needs to step on the neck of his staff a little more.
I'm not sure where the LA reference came from? Martin's potato rolls are made 17 miles away from me in Chambersburg PA. I think if they had put lettuce, tomato and onions on that burger it might have offset the salt. I've had Wendy's burgers sans salad and they sometimes are really salty. It looked like a great pub but for 30 quid, I'd have complained. I like wings but I've never been a fan of the buffalo type with bleu cheese as I hate blue cheese. Congrats to Callum. I was in the hospital when my ex had a c section to deliver my lad. Having never dealt with a newborn, I was presented to him and had to carry him to the next room. As a long retired keeper, that was the hardest I ever tried to hold onto him. I pretty much fed and cleaned him for the next 4 days as my ex was recovering. One piece of advise, believe in yourself and it will happen naturally as it's preprogrammed into you. Best of luck!
Had a cracking burger at a place called Cafe at the end of the Universe in Warrington market last weekend. Highly recommend. Two burgers, loaded fries and boneless wings came to £32.50 which was incredible value in my opinion 👍🏻
Matt I’ve been watching for years now and you still have a cold and the sniffles. Unless it’s a nervous/habit thing? Makes the videos difficult to watch
I honestly thought you never gave a bad review but the fact you were honest in this one proves that all the places you usually go to are amazing! Respect bro
Looks like its bin run over weres the crisping and caramelised edges your supposed to get on a smashed burger looks the part but you think it tasted like a wet fart😂
Isn't the point of a proper smash burger to get the thin, almost see through crispy lacing along it so you can have 2 or 3 of them for that texture to compliment what's in the burger. That burger looks like he's just set a heavy pan on it and the temp wasn't hot enough.
Love this review lads , like any reviewers yous wanted the burger to be so good, But unfortunately just too much salt in the end , Il be honest lads this is a fantastically well reveiwed review 😀
That server knew fuck all 😂
Felt abit sorry for him tho think the nerves hit him

Matt had to pay for a meal 😂 Bad Review…. Honesty is the best policy

I think your spot on, the chef needs training on how to use this great ingredients and I think they will be on to a winner 👌
Love how you kept it real. Not like the other review people who seem to love every place they go to 🙄

I too recommend here - cracking food and great value 😎
Love the honesty
Constructive, and fair enough not giving them a high score just because.

Some chefs do over season if they are worried about the taste I’ve found
It's a well known fact that chefs have a much higher tolerance to salt which generally leads to sometimes food being over salted
We need a Food Review of smashed placenta soon.
My number one tip is, if you are going to have a 2nd or 3rd child, do it whilst you are still young! It gets bloody tiring!😀
I haven't found a London pub that does a good burger, yet.
*Gorilla + Lamb* looks to be decent.
Give "The Bluecoats" Pub a try Tottenham High Road N17
