Thank you for all your videos...I’m definitely a fan. My husband and I are a senior couple in our 60s. We’ve never had any indoor pets before, but now that we’re empty nesters (after raising 6 sons) we’re ready to love a new kind of baby! We’re getting our little havi boy in two weeks! Yay! I really love to nurture by cooking and baking for those I love, so I am interested in cooking for my pup, (if I can get the ingredients to give him the nutrition he needs). I’m totally open to commercial food though, if that’s a better option. There is so much conflicting information out there in cyber land, so I’m interested in your opinion on puppy/dog nutrition, and also more about the supplements you are always recommending. Thanks again for sharing your expertise! ❤️
Home cooked food is a great option as long as it’s a balanced meal! But we live purina pro plan wet and dry food with water.

Great video! I'm paralyzed in one arm after a stroke. Do you think it is possible to brush a havanese coat using only one hand? If I take my pup to the groomer frequently and keep it in a puppy cut? Fingers crossed :) xx

Love your videos. I have a couple of Havi girls that I keep in a puppy cut and I’m about to the point I’ve been working toward which is my first grooming with them. It’s only been 3 weeks since they saw the groomer and I decided to try doing it myself. I’ve invested in all of the tools needed. I thought to begin with we’ll just do short sessions like the feet so they know what to look forward to. My puppy has only been to the groomer twice but my 18 month old has been going since she was a puppy and I also wash their faces at least once a week so they’re used to me handling them. Thanks for sharing all your tips!
+msluvtodraw2 that’s a great place to begin! Just remember to go easy on yourself if it’s not perfect! The more you do it the easier it will be for both parties. 🐾
Wittle Havanese thanks! Today I did their eyebrows, nails (I used a little grinder and it worked great!) and used the clippers on their bottoms. They were very good. I’m an animal portrait artist so I think it helped me to get the right angles and lengths.

Yes you want to use a dog safe spray. Some human products aren’t safe for dogs.
I would give them a quick brush. Just to make life easier. But not a big deal if you forget either. 💜

Can you do a video on how to brush their teeth? I just found out they have a high probability for dental problems and in fact, I'm afraid she might have already lost a tooth. I have never brushed her teeth and had no idea we were supposed to do so. The dogs I grew up with never had their teeth brushed. I'm so confused and afraid. The Vet wants $250.00 to clean her teeth and they put them to sleep for this. That terrifies me. Help..
+Lisa Gordon yes I can do one! If your dogs teeth are in a good need of teeth cleaning I suggest a vet cleaning. I take mine in when I see a lot of build up. Brushing definitely helps slow it down but they are like humans too. We eventually all need a good dental cleaning too.
They also have really cool teeth cleaning toys that the dog can just gnaw on to brush their own teeth without knowing it. And dental chews too. Have you ever seen these?

+Lor thanks! The brush and tool are linked in the description. The brush is a furminator. And I would recommended using a pet safe one. Or a homemade one with coconut oil and water.

What kind of detangling solution did you use ?
In this I use a product called coat tamer. It’s made by pet facets. 🙂🐾
I ordered the Furminator dual brush after seeing you use it in your videos. 😊 However mine seems a bit smaller and has a gray handle. The metal side also has the covered tips, unlike a regular pin brush. Is there a difference between the version you use and the updated?
They updated the version I use. But that’s the same as mine. I don’t use a slicker brush.
How do you make a detangling spray?
It’s just a conditioner mixed with water.
What hair brushes do you use for pups?
I use a dual sided furminator.

How do get you dog to stay put? My dog hates to be brushed she takes off.
You can do a grooming table or chair. The lead helps a lot.
My 5 month old puppys mustache gets so matted at times and I have no idea how to handle. Any suggestions?
Do you have a small de matting comb? And also a shorter hair cut May help if that’s an option.

My havanese pup (4months) wouldn't stay still for this. It's so tiring so I just leave her hair tangled.

Breaks are for them but for the human as well. You can do it. And also check out the how to brush your Havanese on my channel as well if you have some difficult tangles. 🐾
