Elaine Sampaga for this particular video you’d do based on pads and sanitary hair growth. You want to do it to keep it short. Typically it’s going to be around 5-6 weeks.
Brush brush brush. Before bathing. And bathing we do once a month with grooming or clean up. Unless they got into something and need an extra bath. You don’t want to over bathe because you can dry out their skin. And just pay dry. Don’t scrub dry like I mentioned briefly in this video.

I feel like I prepared my pup to be groomed like you said. He SCREAMED bloody murder and squirmed for the first 5 minutes. So stressful. Hopefully next time he will do better.

I use an adjustable clipper.
Do you cut the belly any different with a boy?
Maureen Daley if the hair is growing too close to the exit area then I shave down the hair there. So instead of shaving the legs like I did on this little girl I do that on the belly. Does that make sense?

Any advice on taking care of havanese ear care? I’m getting mix messages, some day pull the hair out inside the ear
Depends on the dog. With Willow she doesn’t have a lot of ear hair. So I just shave it short even with the outside of her ear. Shya has smaller ears and a lot more hair in her. So I pull her ear hair occasionally if I see tangles or her scratching her ears. Think of it like humans. If the nose or ear hair is bothersome it’s pulled or cut. If it’s not causing problems no one messes with it usually.
Wittle Havanese my puppy def has a lot Hair’s inside. He itches it and sometimes I hear him whining due to him getting I’m tired of itching. Thanks for the advice, I’ll do that. Thank you!
Banx make sure you dry his ears with an ear solution or alcohol on a cotton ball. Especially with a lot of hair they can develop yeast and keeping it dry will prevent that.

How early can I groom my Havanese? The breeder insisted that my baby come home at 7 weeks old. His pads are over grown and he’s having a hard time walking
Oh my goodness. That’s not good. Puppy should stay passed 8 weeks. But you can groom the hair on the pads now.
