      Phew!! That’s what happened that Jacob talked about on his Instagram yesterday. Not being able to walk for a few days and the pain you’re having sounds awful but his Instagram post kinda made it sound like a life-changing event had happened. My mind was running amok lol. I’m glad you’ll recover. Hope it’s soon. This dish looks amazing!!

      If you want to spice it up, add dried/fresh chilis and/or black pepper or Szechuan peppercorn for some wonderful numbness when you are frying the garlic. Also you can garnish with spring onions or cilantro or basil. And if you want to veg it up a bit, adding halved cherry tomatoes or julienned zucchini when you add the oyster sauce. You can also reheat some leftover bbq pork or other meats (fully cooked meats, so you are just reheating them in the butter) or a fried egg.
      I also like to sometimes sweeten it a bit with palm sugar or brown sugar.
      Such a versatile dish, so much stuff goes with garlic, just go wild. This is my go to cheat food when I just really want come carbs.

    Hi Seonkyoung! Very interessting idea to combine Italian kitchen with asian elements! I've got an idea for something you might wanna try out! Have you ever heard of Bottarga? It's an ingredient mostly used in Sicily and Sardinia (Italy); cured fish roe, typically of the grey mullet. They grate (almost like how you grate parmesan) it in oil/butter in a heated pan togheter with the garlic, some chefs add wine and than stir the pasta trough. Than comes the best part: they top it with some more fresh butter and grated bottarga! It would be an awesome fusion kitchen element to work with in asian cuisine! Like on stirred rice or a noodlesalad, or even on pork... I hope you like my idea and you get better soon! Lots of love!

    One of my first recipe books was Joy of Cooking. Besides being a good cookbook, the title just set the right mood. You are the video version of that title, making me smile and hungry to try what you are cooking. I especially appreciate your suggestions on substitutions or ingredients which can be omitted. Many thanks and stay safe.

    Great Video! Similar to a very traditional Italian pasta dish, Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (Spaghetti with Garlic and Oil). I use anchovies in that, but must try your recipe with oyster sauce. Thanks

I was already making Korean bbq style short ribs and I saw the video and decided to make it as a side dish, it honestly became the main dish it was so rich and flavourful. parsia1363 ive never had oyster sauce but id have the stir fry sauce she had. is the oyster sauce really sea foody taste?

    • @parsia1363
      @parsia1363 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Megan K , I was worried about it too honestly but it wasn't too fishy or sea foody at all, try using just a little in the beginning.
      You can mix it half/half with the sauce you have that way you can play it safe . It definitely gives it a nice umami flavour. Have fun making it my friend

    • @vitelot
      @vitelot 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not quite. In our traditional recipe we use oil and not butter. We also add chilli pepper. If you like a fishy taste you can use anchovies. Moreover, if there is fish with pasta we refrain of adding parmesan cheese. And may be most important, we use spaghetti or vermicelli or spaghetti alla chitarra (the square ones), never bucatini in this kind of recipes with garlic. Said that this recipe looks tasty and I'll try it -- but with no cheese :)
