Not to mention the production quality of their videos. The recipes, as always, look delicious. Keep going Aaron and Claire! These videos are fantastic, some of my favorite FoodTube content.

    Welp, made this just now and it was awesome! The tweaks I did to make it LA-style were to include a seeded/minced serrano chile with the aromatics, served with lime wedges instead of black vinegar, and also fresh cilantro with the tops of the green onions. And the Taiwanese knife-cut noodles were a great recommendation, which I was able to find at H-Mart. This is going on the rotation!

    I made this for dinner tonight and it was great! It was similar to another recipe I use, but this version was both easier and more delicious. The bok choy really brings it together. Now I'm going to make this all the time.
    I added some dark soy sauce for color (just .5 tbsp), mirin instead of wine, a sliced green chili pepper for some extra spiciness, and I used pappardelle noodles. Yum.

    I made this today and it was amazing!! I added crispy tofu instead of pork for a vegetarian twist! But here’s a warning… if you use common crushed red pepper, use WAY less than he uses. I didn’t realize how much spicier they are compared to Korean chili flakes. I used 1tbs and it was still reallllllllyyyy spicy. I would suggest going down to 1tsp of chili pepper for it to be more enjoyable.

      Yes! I was going to comment that. Gochugaru is not very spicy at all. Most other chili powders would only need a fraction of the amount

  • @1920s
    @1920s ปีที่แล้ว

    I just made this. It was excellent! It was certainly spicy, but I wouldn’t consider it hot. The sugar gives a balance to the spicy, and the oyster sauce, and Gochugaru flakes gives it a unique “Asian” flavor that makes it stand out from your typical western chili noodles. I was so excited I forgot to give it a splash of black vinegar. Thanks, Aaron!

    I made these tonight (without the pork) and they are truly delicious. I bought the knife noodles and I will be buying them in bulk. If you are in the Uk, I got mine from sous chef as they were cheaper than Amazon

    Made this today, but with beef (no pork in the firdge today) but keeping the ginger. It's a banger!
    Fragrant, savoury, absolutely delicious! And that addition of Laoganma on the end, giving an extra kick!
    Thanks Aaron!

    As an Asian all of this stuff is already in my cabinet, these are extremely common sauces and spices for us.
    I got lazy and started not doing the whole meat portion, just noodles and sauce. Still really good ngl

    This recipe is amazing! I just made it and my mind is blown! I changed it slightly with what was in my fridge. I used some chopped beef instead of pork, some tomato paste, and lemon juice. For a slight more tang and sauciness. Would an extra table spoon of the Korean red pepper flakes make it spicier? It’s so good, but feel like a little more heat would be nice.

    • @AaronandClaire
      @AaronandClaire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Korean chili pepper flakes (gochugaru) will definitely make it spicier. (If you’re interested in getting one, please check out the description.) 😁👍

    The first time i´ve tried this i wasn´t blown away BUT that might be because i used ginger (which i hate xD) and my garlic got burned . Now i gave it a second try and made it without the ginger and with a LOT of attention to the garlic (saddl only 5 gloves because that was everything i´ve had) . And i added a red chili pepper as well since it was in the fridge. Yup, it taste SO much better. really delicious and SO easy .
    And btw, i really love all the ingredients substitution, it´s a really rare thing for cooking videos , reall appreciate it :D
