  • JohnyBoy here using EasyJoint to join up patio. I would of preferred to do this before the grass was laid however the client wanted the grass down for their young children but I have managed to work my way around doing it in a clean and tidy way using plenty of water to was away any residue so there was no mess left for the clients.

    I use the same technique as you, pushing the compound into the joints so it is fully compacted, not just washing and brushing it in. Great product, dry's very hard with brilliant results. Used all the colours with no problems. Great video.

    Easyjoint doesn't like bleach ... gonna pull mine up and repoint with sand cement, do you have a preferable mix? Would you bother with a small amount of lime ???

    This video has been helpful. I need to do my patio (cant afford a professional and this looks fairly straight forward) however, there are pebbles between the paving slabs. I take it I would need to clear those out first? Also, the gap between the slabs varies, some gaps are as big as 6cm. Would Easyjoint be ok for that? thanks

    The mushroom colour also works really well with black slate flags, but I would avoid the jet black colour, I used it on reclaimed cobblestone and it didn't look right, I ended up power washing it out before it set.

    Good video. I’m not a fan of this stuff I have used it many many times. It tends to loose its colour after a couple years and it also sinks after a couple years of jet washing and people walking on it. I only used sand sharp sand and cement now. Keep up the good work

    The guys that did our garden in indian stone used easy joint, but it seems to be coming out in a lot of places. I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be a very deep gap in the joints. Less than 10mm in parts. Is this why its coming out?

    • @GreentopLandscapes
      @GreentopLandscapes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe, If I use it I pack it well down nice and tight.

    • @naamangeist7843
      @naamangeist7843 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The product instructions say 25mm minimum depth and 3mm minimum width on all joints. So yeah, that's likely the reason it's pulling out.

I was going to replace for a riven buff slab just wondering if you would recommend this and what would you use for the joints as it will be washed down almost twice daily. An6 advice would be grand

      Hiya Jon.. nice vid. Cheers. Mortar betw crazy pavers largely crumbled (donkeys years old); weed city!. Plan: keep existing pavers, clear out old mortar and repoint with EJ as per vid. That means no membrane. Does it fly. Like to stay weed free for as long as. .. roughly how long weed free u think i got with current plan. Bar ripping pavers up any ideas re. stayin weed free. Its more a tidy up than a redo .. dont mind spending on better mixes/products if u suggest. Unless i got it wrong, yur vid suggested i cld spruce old patio up for not alot of time. Full redo planned in couple years .. corona permitting. Gd health 2u and fam. Many thanks in adv. Gary
