Hi Jon, I'm the guy denying the goon his commission in the first video. My neighbour is also legally licence free, I didn't realise until the next day that he also visited them and they shut the door on him as well so that's £40 he missed out on in total! Might explain why he looked so dejected!

Many thanks Jon,you just saved me 159 pound a year mate,I cancelled DD,and filled in form tv licence not needed,got confirmation cancellation and 39 pound refund!,tv licence states I may or may not get a visit,but I shall refuse to let them in or engage in conversation,unless a warrant ,which will be a waste of there time as we don’t watch ANY LIVE PROGRAMMES,got Netflix prime and Disney,no Ariel sat dish or digital box,SORTED,THANKYOU.

TikTokkers will not only do zero research , they will usually put out at best pointless, at worst wrong, misleading or downright dangerous advice (especially in DIY / tools etc ) just for clicks and views they will get from people correcting them or yelling at them.

How can the goons prove you are watching BBC iPlayer?
They probably grab your IP address. It’s a lot easier to track someone directly using a service than someone tuning in to a nation-wide scattershot broadcast.
Iplayer works like an app, you have to sign in with email n password, and everytime you watch something it picks up the data. Like when your phones on and signed into Google it picks up your location and saves it.

Even if you're watching TV and a TV licence goon sees through the window, they still have to provide the necessary evidence that you were indeed watching it. Unless they film it, which is illegal to film through someone's window without their consent. It's their word against yours and proves nothing, since the tv licence goon could look up a tv programme that was on at that time and say you was watching it when you wasn't.

Seven years since I pulled the plug. I genuinely dont watch it. I have a cheap pc plugged into the TV, with bluetooth keyboard & mouse on the coffee table. Watch what I want, when I want, and it doesnt include any of the bilge spewed out by the main stream media, either live or recorded. I registered with Crapita, the goons employed to persecute poor people, went through the 20 questions and cancelled it. So far over £1100 saved

I've not had a licence for years now. I get sent a letter every 2 years asking, do I now require a licence? I call them and say I don't need one thanks. I've never had a goon turn up at my door 😀

If Netflix was ever in financial difficulties that it would sell up, the big US broadcasters would snap it up. The BBC wouldn't be able to match them financially or raise the money elsewhere to compete.

Got a reminder to renew "no license needed" as had let it expire. Was surprise as there was a fair size section about just renewing the no license declaration. If a bit missing covered most points

I haven't paid for a telly licence in nearly 20 years, I don't watch television, sport doesn't interest me, nor does reality tv rubbish, cooking programmes, repeats. The irony for me is when I decided to dump the licence I was basically considered a bit strange by my social contacts, workmates, simply because I had no idea who some soap actor is, heres the irony, 20 years on and all those same people dont pay for a telly licence and claim not to watch the bilge that is on television.

What happens if you have a computer streaming iPlayer but have no monitor or speakers attached? From what I can gather (without going into the small print) it's only an offence to "watch or record" live TV. B@stards would probably class buffering as recording.

So do you need a TV licence if you dont use the channels or services but have the capability to get them? I dont use them but i have a smart TV and a PS5, both of which CAN get BBC but DON'T. I think its purposefully confusing and if i was challenged and someone saw my TV it would be pretty hard to argue the point.

People who spout the nonsense that detector vans are an urban myth is frustrating. I’ve been in one (many years ago). I don’t doubt the tech couldn’t be even remotely specific, but they DID exist (once upon a time).
If there is no signed contract with the BBC and they send a bill (fine) , then they have committed fraud ! You must have a contract with a person in order to bill them. Under contract law , a contract carries no force or affect without the consent of both parties. Another thing, you cannot force a contract on someone against their will. They are taking advantage of peoples ignorance of the law and their rights.
The BBC should become a subscription service, sorted…!

I have just cancelled mine and i got a refund on my license. i am confussed though as i heard the barristor man say you could not watch on demand, could you clarify if you can or not, as i will believe you more than him?

@@SJPDurham depending on where they are standing. If it's a public footpath and it's visible, then that is okay. If they enter your private land to do it, then they shouldn't be allowed to use it against you. But they will try to, and the court would probably allow it. They would open themselves up to a civil tresspass claim by doing so.
@@WeAreThePeople1690 If you haven't removed their implied right of access and they would have to have stepped off the designated route to the front door in order to see through a window, you may have a case for civil trespass, but like you say, the court would probably accept the evidence, even if it was obtained by trespassing. You would have to bring your own civil trespass case to prove the evidence used to convict was obtained illegally.
Not sure but the difference with the license fee might be due to the fact that you pay more when you pay monthly by direct debit than when you pay in one lump sum ( ho and don’t pay up till the second week of the month or you could end up losing a month a year over time happened to me when I first started paying for my first telly in for Christmas so the first one was in December two years later they were asking for The renewal in October because my wife payed on the first of the month till I spotted what was happening )

just had a 2nd visit this morning, checked doorbell camera and there was actually 2 goons there not one, i didnt answer the door at all, is this a new tactic? 2 goons instead of 1 ? i noted too they didnt press the video doorbell either they used the door knocker.
