You need to sign in to their service which means they can check if you've paid for it. Watching live BBC has no real-time checks. Eff the BBC, but very easy to commit the offence without them knowing.

Just remember to not engage with any goon that visits. " No thank you" and shut the door If you continue to watch non live TV, then make sure your aerial lead is removed so you have a solid alibi. Ignore any letters they send. My mother in law died last August. We notified TV licencing of this and that a licence was no longer required as the house was empty. Yet they still send letters. Plus a note put through the door saying they had visited " to check". Disgusting behaviour. It's all a lie. Back in the eighties I had two of them at my back door. One was drunk and smelled of whisky, and I turned on the television for them to see,in the full knowledge that a licence was in force at the time. He had the audacity to read me my rights as a criminal and told me he was from the Home Office. I knew that he had no authority to do so because of my job at the time. Upon leaving the drunken bastard turned left instead of right and almost fell over the wall into next door's garden. I wrote up a report and submitted it to TV Licencing. I received a two page apology from them and understand that he was dismissed immediately. He obviously had a big ego and was claiming powers beyond his position. He'd picked on the wrong bloke without realising that I had a responsible job that included law enforcement and court appearances to present evidence. Making such claims as he did is a very serious matter, and I doubt that he was employable after that incident. Don't be afraid of these goons, they have no power because they work in a for-profit corporation.
I had no license for around 8 years, and the goons came to my door. I invited them in, and they spent over half and hour trying to find the cable in the room, from the aerial to connect to the TV. At the time only a DVD player was connect to the TV via scart lead. They got angrier and angrier. Then they tried, using the remote to get broadcast TV on my TV and utterly failed. After giving the an amazing anti-TV rant, and refusing to let them leave. I followed them out and showed them my chimney - no aerial. Every other chimney on the street had an aerial. After this , they were literally in a rage and screamed at me. It's now been 24 years at this address and they have never been back. I believe the BBC have got a red flag against my address!!
I don’t understand I thought the licence was to watch BBC? Therefore, we can watch ITV CHANNEL 4 nd 5 but don’t need a licence? So we can have Ariel’s connected?
I've ripped up probably 20 letters in the last 6yrs and had probably 2 inspectors to my door and answered the door to then and shut the door in their face mid sentence without saying a word besides the initial hello.
You are absolutely RIGHT to keep putting this message out! Thank you! We have not had a Licence for years. We don't break any law. More importantly, we don't support the likes of Hew Edwards or Jimmy Saville. Why would anyone with children/anyone who is not a paedophile pay the Licence fee?!!
All very well, but the only reason you don't have a licence, is because you never watch anything that you are not supposed to watch. Or perhaps you don't even have a TV. Which is it?
Licence enforcement like that is likely due to incompetence and poor training and obviously needs to be challenged and changed. I can't help but wonder if the state it's in is deliberate to make it easy for the politicians to get rid of the BBC. After all, it's basically the government that appoints the BBC board of directors, especially the King-in-Council, the BBC Board, and the UK Secretary of State. I've been on this Earth for 60 years and I've had many periods where I've needed a licence and lengthy periods where I haven't. I currently don't need one and have filled out a no licence needed form, and I've never had a visit like that. It's also very clear that any power of entry is only valid with a search warrant from a magistrate. Does that Birmingham Live story mention that or is it tactically omitted in this news piece so that it generates outrage and thus more clicks for profit? What we shouldn't be advocating for however it for the BBC to be scrapped, otherwise all we'll have left is a media landscape consisting only of billionaire-owned news outfits pushing their own private agenda and peddling outrage. At that point we no longer have news, we have noise. At least the BBC is an outfit owned by the public and as such is easier to fix bias and bad reporting and for it to be held to account. Frankly, calls for the abolishment of billionaire-owned rags such as those in the Murdoch Group should be FAR louder than calls for the BBC to go.
@@gweilospur5877 You are rather presumptious, aren't you? I haven't watched tv for about six years now and therefore I do not need a licence. TV licence salesmen have zero, absolutely no, authority whatsoever to gain entry into a private property. In Scotland they need a Sherrif Warrant with a wet signature. Even then only a Police officer, not the salesman, can enter. These warrants are pretty much never issued. Do not open the door, if you do say nothing, or ask them to leave immediately. They've no authority in any way shape or form.

Why do you want them to come to your door? You’re making things worse. Just confirm you still don’t need a licence, job done. Do things as politely and properly otherwise you are giving them cause to escalate the situation. If they knock on your door either don’t answer it, or just open it, see who it is and close the door without saying anything at all. Don’t be the aggressor. You’re letting yourself down.
@@MoonSpinners no no no. They will still visit just to check. ChiliJon confirmed that in a vid some time ago. "no Thanks" close the door. That's the only way to stop them.
Nothing allows them to; they just do it. It might be better to write them a letter saying you withdraw the implied right of entry to your property of their employees and agents. Then if someone turns up, you can use physical force to escort them off your property. Netflix do check on you, every time you log on to view any of their stuff.

If it's an enforcement officer, I will ask for their ID and then report them to Trading Standards because they are going against the sticker. The sticker explicitly removes their implied right of access, so therefore if they knock they are trespassing. Job done.
My first experience with a TV licence enforcer was negative. He knocked on my door and when I refused to let him enter and just I was about to close the door he wedged his foot in the doorway preventing me from closing it. We had a small scuffle and he left warning me he'd back with a warrant. It was complete rubbish and i never saw him again.
Doesn't that TV licensing advert on the BBC make you sick? It does me. It's the one where there is a white man and a black man, and the white is worried because the black man is shredding the TV license. The white man is made to look an absolute fool because he is unaware that you don't need a printed copy of your TV license. I bet they wouldn't have done that the other way round. What's more, if you're daft enough to still pay a TV license, you're doing the BBC favour for going paperless. It saves them money, so they can pay Lineker, Ball and the likes even more.
Adverts showing the 'superiority' of black over white have existed for years. Witness the ad where a bloke who vaguely resembles Einstein is unable to dunk biscuits, whilst his coloured companion accomplishes the task with ease !
I don't trust these paperless documents, about 5 years ago I was stopped for being uninsured, luckily I had bank statements in the car because I had an appointment later and need them and the bank statements showed my registration number as a reference next to the direct debit. Then last year I found out by accident that my bike wasn't mot'd despite having nearly 6 months left and me having the paper copy. The DVLA wouldn't listen and I had to get a fresh mot, the garage even confirmed that it had loads of test left but the government DVLA website shows a gap between the tests.
Thank you for this, even the Police can't enter your property unless they meet very specific criteria, anyone else can do one (even if they have legal access) unless they turn up with the police

They will and never have taken anyone to court for obstruction of a search warrant. Here is why, someone committed perjury and lied to obtain a warrant. You have the right to question that person as a witness in court. They will have to substantiate the facts on that warrant as true, just like they signed to. When its exposed as lies, they perjure themselves in court. No way on this earth will they put anyone up for that. To obstruct, you need to do an act of obstruction. Not answering the door is not doing anything. They can not force entry without any entry warrant.

I am foreigner who has lived in the UK since i was 6. My parents came here for better education and for majority of my life i have witnessed my parents be scared to extreme levels of these thugs most of their time living here. They thought or left to believe just owning a TV even without using it they needed to pay this fee which these people take advantage of their lack of knowledge and we as a household have lost so much money over these peoples threat letters and even during times we got rid of our tv completely until recently we purchased a TV for games and youtube along with a license but i started digging heavily and found out that as long as you don’t watch their propaganda or live TV you don’t need to pay a dime. It took 20 years for me to wake myself and my parents up and we finally proudly cancelled that atrocity with confidence months ago. I am well equipped with knowledge and can’t wait for them to show up or send threatening letters.
my friend recently received a letter saying that they knew he didnt have a license, the usual "we are investigating" stuff etc. At the very end of it, it said "we do not need your permission to gain entry to your property, day or night, we WILL enter if it suits us." They showed up on Monday, this burley bloke, northern accent. Put his foot in the door. My mate just whistled to his two Doberman dogs, they came running through the hall, barking with teeth out and went for the guy. Full view of the camera my mate has on his door porch, HIT one with his pad and ran off. Police were contacted and they are "investigating" the goon for animal cruelty.

Next year the same thing happened . They eventually stopped . Not sure if they called round was I was not in . I advise you to send in the form , which seems to satisfy them . If they ever tried that in australia/new zealand a scuffle would be the least bit of trouble they'd earn.
Doesn't that TV licensing advert on the BBC make you sick?
It does me. It's the one where there is a white man and a
black man, and the white is worried because the black man
is shredding the TV license. The white man is made to look
an absolute fool because he is unaware that you don't need
a printed copy of your TV license. I bet they wouldn't have done
that the other way round. What's more, if you're daft enough
to still pay a TV license, you're doing the BBC favour for
going paperless. It saves them money, so they can pay Lineker,
Ball and the likes even more.
Adverts showing the 'superiority' of black over white have existed for years. Witness the ad where a bloke who vaguely resembles Einstein is unable to dunk biscuits, whilst his coloured companion accomplishes the task with ease !
And there's have been many adverts where it's the other way around... Get over yourself chalkie
What are you doing watching the BBC? 🤣🤣
I don't watch the BBC so have never seen this nonsense.

When its exposed as lies, they perjure themselves in court.
