    I went from 220lbs to 140lbs solely from beans, veg and rice in about 2 years. Occasional red meat and chicken as needed

      I started the year at 225lbs and am down to 191lbs after adding about a cup of pinto beans a day to my diet and going for a 30min walk after lunch and after dinner. I've been making my own qdoba bowls for my lunches during the week and bean dip to eat as a snack.

    I'm 81 years old and probably 80 pounds overweight and finally realized that if I don't get rid of my excess blubber, it will get rid of me. So, I have started eating beans every day and eliminated meat from my diet. I just hope the pounds start to come off.

      @@hussein8496 - Lousy! I think part of the problem is the medication (Metoprolol) I am taking that is making it difficult to lose weight. Doctors tell you to lose weight and then they prescribe a medication that makes it near impossible to do it. Anyway, I started eating just two meals a day. Breakfast at 9:00 A.M. and dinner at 9:00 P.M.

    My Grandma used to buy a 15 dry bean mix and make Grandma's Super Soup every time my mom brought my sister and I over and I used to love it. I would put croutons in it for extra crunch and flavor but it was great on its own and I probably didn't even need the croutons.
    Now I just started eating beans again after excluding them from my diet in adulthood for too long and just eat them straight out of the can already prepared. But I will always remember Grandma's Super Soup🥲🍲.

    I eat legumes regularly. Black beans are my favorite. So many ways to prepare, to pair with other foods, and to flavor. I love the earthiness quality of lentils- smells so good while cooking for some reason. I like other types as well.

    I am looking on TH-cam to see if there is such a thing as a bean diet. I have gone so many years without eating any beans because of gas, but yesterday I was really craved them, so I soaked a 15 bean soup for 24 hours and cooked it for 3 hours and it came with cajun seasonings, so it was salty. It was so so so good that I ate 2 very large servings, and then today I had another 2 very large servings and I was so full. I do I.F., so I only eat 1 time a day and then fast for 23 hours. Normally I think about food all day long, but now I realize that I don't. This is cheap, easy and delicious, so if it would only help me to loose weight, I'd be excited!

      I used to do a one day try to eat all the beans I cooked in the family size slow cooker. I was getting bean trauma. I failed to add salt in it too as is. I was in the hospital and was better portions of food there. I liked how I felt eating less then. So, I started eating two scoops a night of beans mixed with garlic for sleep and strength. Less trauma and more strength when I apply it. That's when I'm not fighting sleep.

    I love cooked beans and i can eat lots of lentils *as long as ive tons of vinegar available* to give em that flavor they lack, but still i always have the same limited amount of energy during the day (ive no vitamin D problem and i do take vitamin D) and still get lethargic after meals or after a specific amount of hours

      Is your dietician overweight? Mine was. I took her advice with a grain of salt. She gave me a diet plan that included sugary syrup filled dole fruit cups, saltine crackers, and chocolate pudding. Like weird sad hospital food type of stuff.

    Lost a bulk load of weight following the beans diet but I stopped for a long while cause I started the OMAD diet and eventually graduated into anorexia, I fully recovered and I currently weigh 47kg at 160cm(height). I've decided to eat more nutritious foods and include beans in my daily diet again...but do you think I can lose fat and gain more muscle mass again... I feel better but I haven't fully seen any obvious changes in my physique

      if you want to, every food has its specific benefits. In terms of fiber, yeah, beans and legumes can be a good replacement of fruits and veggies, but them also has specific properties you shouldn't want to avoid.

      I absolutely disagree with that. Yes, most people who do note consume much meat often consume legumes, but that's not always true. Additionally, those who do consume meats have reduced health issues if they consume beans or lentils as well.

    Haauy, what about if you have to limit your lectin consumption?? Beans and legumes are the highest in lectin. Not good

      Lectins are easily destroyed through soaking, sprouting and boiling in water.

    Beans have a lot of protein but, they are not a complete source of complete protein. If they were a good source of protein, body builders, power lifters, football players would be eating them to build muscle. What is a good source of protein is meat. Meat is a complete protein

      Geez. All you gotta do is combine any bean/lentil with bulgur, quinoa or brown rice. Then it's a complete protein.🤦‍♀️
