I watched your blogs because your family seems authentic and interesting. I like that while you do show the children, you aren't exploiting your children. With as many children as y'all have, I think trying to blog everyday might be a teeny weeny unrealistic. Just do your thing

THANK YOU for always putting your children and their safety first. While the majority of viewers are probably the sweetest folks, I think we all know there are real creepos out there too, and you're absolutely right -- there is just no need to feed them personal information about your littles or the layout of your home. I know several TH-camrs who have had stalkers and uninvited 'guests' because they did just that. Your children are super blessed to have parents who take their security and privacy seriously. Great job! Love your videos...

I have to tell you I have struggled with infertility for the last 7 years and every time I have a conversation with someone they say “well you can always adopt” I appreciate you saying what you said. I know people mean well but I sometimes feel like it diminishes my heartache by mourning the loss of my pregnancy. I also feel guilty when I feel that way because I feel like I am diminishing the heroism of adopting. Thanks for your authenticity!

As a bio and foster/ in the process of adopting mom, you explained that last bit so well! My husband and I always knew we would adopt. We had 2 boys biologically right away, had 4 miscarriages, had a little girl biologically, and now we have 3 foster kids two 14 year olds and a boy just 8 months older than our oldest bio. After our losses and unexpected rainbow, we knew we had to deal with our trauma before we adopted. Adoption is not a fix for loss or infertility or any other trauma; adoption is a sheltered path through the child's trauma! Adoption is meant to provide for a child; not a parent. I can feel your heart when you speak, especially about adoption, and I hope noone misunderstands that.

18:34 Amen!! I'm a first-time homeschooler this year & the amount of FREEDOM I've felt in not having to sit in carlines, fill out endless forms, deal with the public school arena, & take my child's education into my own hands - it's been a dream realized that I didn't even really know I had, if that makes sense. I had no clue how much that was affecting my own strengths & capacity as a mom. And I've had the same thoughts about you (Angie) getting it all done, but when you are staying at home, you have those freedoms to make your own agenda, instead of the corporate world making that agenda for you.

Angela is right about adoption, especially adopting through foster care. There is a lot of emotion and complexity that is inherent in children that come from adoption and foster care even when they are adopted as infants. Potential adoptive families just need to understand that this is the reality and be prepared for it.

As a mom who had fertility struggles and three kids adopted from foster care, thank you for the great explanation at the end. We tried to do foster to adopt and fertility treatments at the same time and it was like being thrown into concrete over and over again. We are definitely in a good (enough) place 8 years later, but those first couple of years were so tough. And we were very informed and from adoptive families. Trauma information is so important. My one son is now in trauma specific counseling and I do sessions with his counselor separate from him to learn how to best help him and deflect his trauma from my own self.

They day-to-day-ness of life on the farm is what's interesting! I like the fact that you're genuine. I'm currently re-watching your recent organization videos because you inspired me! And you're perfectly right about adoption. To tell someone struggling with infertility that she can JUST adopt is insensitive on so many levels. Even if we haven't suffered from infertility ourselves, most of us have a relative or close friend who has, and we understand how tragic it can be.

I have watched your channel for a couple of years and really enjoy it! I wanted to thank you for what you said regarding adoption. I struggled with infertility and my ex-husband and I ended up domestically adopting a newborn child. I suffered with depression, guilt, insecurities all of the emotions almost from the day we brought him home. As parents who read this who had children naturally would say probably the same things about their child when they brought them home from the hospital. I was worried about the birth mother and what she was going through and tried to do everything right for her son. The adoption for infertile couples can be overwhelming, challenging and most people go into it with their eyes wide shut. The child that we adopted had issues from the moment of birth onward. No, he was not considered disabled but he had many many challenges. What people do not realize when they adopt an infant is that nature will always override nurture. Today, he is a disaster he is homeless and he also is a very dangerous person. He lacks the intelligence an average person and can be very malicious. Neither my ex-husband or myself are like this, but I do know some of his background and it does fall in line with some things. For anyone out there he was considering adoption due to infertility realize that the birth mothers and fathers are not in happy places. They are stressed. A lot of them drank or did drugs during the early parts of conception and this child is not being born to a mother or father who are in a good headspace or physically trying to maintain for the sake of the child. They are usually fighting just to be able to survive themselves and make no mistake you will bring home those problems with you. Angie, I thank you for bringing forward what you did about the differences between natural born children do yourselves and whenever you adopt. Thank you!

That's my winter project making photo albums! I go to our local thrift store and find brand new albums for like a dollar or two,no more! It's great because I have literally thousands of pictures and five grandchild. My oldest granddaughter graduates from highschool,so I want to have all her albums through the years ready! She was the first one so we virtually took a zillion pictures! I can work on it while rewatching The Downton Abbey series! Fun afternoon work!

To the new mama having twins in April - Congrats! Such a fun time, I'm expecting my first baby in the next few weeks :) My mom's first two children were twins and the best advise she ever received was to wake both twins up every single time when it came to night feeding - it regulated their sleeping schedule and my mom and dad were able to get rest a few weeks into having the twins.

You are so blessed with having the ability to live this lifestyle. You and CR made it happen! Most people think about how wonderful it would be…but think….they couldn’t accomplish it. You go girl! I envy you. We raised 8 children and 2 grandchildren, biological and adopted. I would have done what you are doing if I had seen all of the opportunities. I missed it 😢, however, I’m very happy with all of their successes. We have a wonderful family, as you do.

So true re: motivations vs. expectations when it comes to adoption. As a women with infertility, not secondary, I was shocked when I began to feel retraumatized about my infertility as I go through the domestic infant process, and had to meet all of its expectations and demands as well as experienced it’s highs and lows. It was like someone ripped off a bandage covering my wound. Sorry but that was true to my experience. In reality, even if you go into the process with eyes wide open, it still is a painful reminder. I don’t expect adoption to heal my feeling of loss regarding infertility, and I don't want it too, because it is not honoring my loss. I won’t however put it on any child I potentially adopt. Adoption is it's own thing. Our why is everything.

I would watch and share an authentic conversation about navigating post adoption. I believe you still have much to say on the topic of adoption. Thank you for the last answer. I found out at a young age I would never be able to have kids. I wasn't going to adopt to fill a void. I spent 3 decades grieving this loss. Then God worked in amazing ways and now at age 51 I am a mom to a beautiful adopted 5 yr old daughter. Blessings to you and your family

I believe that “everyone “ can’t “love” someone else’s child. We all have gifts and they are different for each of us. This is one of those gifts. It took me a long time to learn this and I agree with you, adoption is an option but not for everyone.
