This is just a drain plug. There is no filler plug in the front differential. The oil is poured into the mechanism through the removed driveshaft.
So you had the correct amount of oil, and by pouring oil through the drain plug only to the level of the drain plug, you now have a low oil level.

So just like for the transfer case you need to remove the driveshaft? To reach the fill plig

    All of my Mercedes-Benz diesels are late 1970's through mid 1980's SD300's but I have 2 gas wagons a 2004 and a 2006. The 2004 is the 4MATIC and I have a leak I can't locate. Still, I love my wagons :-)

Always full of details and very entertaining, one suggestion why dont you use your evacuator to fill back in and also you can use small cameras to see if there's anything left inside I bought some cameras at Plumbing store to inspect the plumbing and they're perfectly working fine for the state spots

Thanks for sharing....this evacuator only evacuates, no filling...

In this video it looked like the drive shaft rubber boot was torn. Is that true? Great series of videos!

Wonderful video....like all your other videos :)
Is the transmission work properly now? Or still some trouble?
How about resealing the breather covers? :D

after all that maintenance, it didn't improve....breather cover has to wait for a while....I need a real scanner....both iCarsoft MB II and Maxidas DS808 didn't connect to SRS or provided me with live data from transmission....

Half shaft inner boot is torn, this indicates the motor mounts are bad, I'm in the same boat. Do the motor/trans mounts at 80K and save the axles. DON'T BUY MB AXLES
