Picking out a backpack and also physical therapy.

  • After much research, I chose the Durston Kakwa 55 backpack, however since it was an online order, I wasn’t able to try it on ahead of time. I ordered the medium, but I should’ve ordered the small. I was really wanting this backpack, but besides it being too big, it wasn’t comfortable in certain spots. I decided it was best to go to REI and get fitted with the proper backpack, whether it was my old one, the Durston or one available there. After trying on 3-4 backpacks, besides the 2 I brought, I ultimately chose the Osprey Aja 58. I love that my head doesn’t bump the pack like my old one and it’s actually pretty comfortable with 30lbs.
I also went to my first physical therapy appointment to take care of knee and heal pain. Luckily I have about a year to deal with that. I would be devastated if my knee is what takes me off trail.
