Nice video brother . Spent some time in Newton N C in 1989 loved it. I agree with you on supporting small businesses . I live in Holland Michigan and try to do business with local family owned places . Mocksville looks like a nice town.

It is nice And supporting mom and pop businesses is great way to have variety in your hometown.
      Thanks for watching 👍

I grew up in Mocksville but now I live in the Philippines. Haven't been back to NC since 2003. Thx so much for this chance to visit my hometown again!

Allow me to point out the four saplings planted in the corners of the main town square. Until 2015-2017 the square was dominated by 4 massive oak trees where the saplings are now planted. The large oaks were planted in 1934, and in 2015 two of them died due to a fungal disease and removed. In 2017 the remaining two started dying and were also removed. For people who have lived here a while, downtown looks strangely empty without them. Hopefully the new saplings will continue to do well and once again fill the square.

I hope they do well too.
And thank you for sharing the history of those four oak trees. Old oaks are my favorite.

Hi, I'm an 11 y/o living here and I'd personally like to thank you for posting this video! The past is so interesting and I wish I was alive earlier, however videos like these and even those from before will show the future generations (if Gen Z doesn't kill the world, I'm saying that as a Gen Z...) what life was like

Don't need lectures on how we should live.
