Love your ground level views of an area. I just wish you would enter some buildings so we can see what it's like inside and maybe even talk to some of the locos.

This is something I plan on doing in another series. For this series of videos, however, I have decided not to do it for the sake of time, as I am going into my 4th year of filming this series, and while I love going in to talk with people, it does take quite a bit of time, and most people I do talk to on my travels do not want to be on camera.
In the new series, however, time will not be an issue, and I can call ahead and let business owners prepare for the visit.
Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching 👍

Happy Father's Day, Timothy! Manteo, NC! Now that's a very nice town center, very nice!
Timothy, in answer to your question: John White and Manteo were unable to return to Roanoke for three years due to French pirate attacks on England's shores, England's war with Spain, and White's inability to secure a ship to return to Roanoke. However, finally, in August 1590, White and Manteo were able to return to Roanoke Island. FYI - Manteo was born into the Croatan tribe, a small Native American group who lived in the coastal areas of what is now North Carolina. The lost colony of Roanoke's people may have allied with them, especially since the words "Croatoan" were carved into a fort's gatepost and "Cro" etched into a tree. Only GOD knows what really happened to them.
Timothy, do you know why Sir Walter Raleigh named the state of Virginia in honor of Queen Elizabeth I? Answer: Because she was also officially known as the Virgin Queen, and the name Virgin-ia pays homage to that fact.
