- Today I decided to take a walk around historic Mocksville NC. North Main Street in Mocksville North Carolina has tons of very old and even some abandoned houses. My favorite abandoned home is 900 N Main Street Mocksville NC in Davie county NC.

The courtyard of the library was the original entrance. That other part is new. Those statues have been there since I was a kid in the early 70s at least.

The building behind Bird & Co is Deanos BBQ and is still open to this day. Great food & great staff. The park area beside the police station use to be open grass where people parked for the car shows. Bird & Co is a woman's clothing store btw. I love the house beside the Methodist church. The road by York's Exxon was the original Main St. Also, Shorty York passed not to long ago so his son Aaron York is now the owner of York's Exxon.

I'm at the 4:40 mark. That's the First United Methodist Church. They have a few candlelight services around Christmas (pre-Covid). You had to get there early thought as it gets packed fast. Anyone can attend. There maybe videos of it non TH-cam.

You need. To go to the old house a the night time no body live they but something happen when you pass in the road.
Someone bought the 2 houses and apparently their fixing them up right now. You can see that the lights are on and everything.
It was actually an office and it's not as old as you think. The original owner sold shoes and that's where he worked in his office.

What a beautiful town! I love going with you on these sdventures. The picnic area was so pretty. I hope you have a part 2 & show the other historic homes that are there. I wonder what kind of work the people did who built those houses. Did there used to be textile mills in the area? Can you imagine horse :& buggy days? Wow!
There is an old white house off of I-40 that they've turned into a reception hall. That's where I lived until 1972. It had a fireplace in every room except the back bedroom. I love old houses, especially after living in that one.
Love old homes like these but it's so sad to see them abandoned and unused and just to sit there left to rot away. Thanks for taking us along.

The smaller house reminds me of a cottage I once lived in back in the late 80's. That house is way far gone as far as repair, its caving in and it's so sad. I would love an old victorian house on at least 1 acre. I can move anywhere but it has to be somewhat livable for my mom. I can live in anything but I won't let her. Mold or any smell of mildew is a bad sign.But don't say you never could afford to fix or get something I bet you just never know. Don''t want you putting that on yourself, think positive and say you will and perhaps you will. I always try and turn a negative into a positive. It's a shame to see these old pieces of history and our past just not be preserved better. Italianate and Victorian, Greek Revival, old Sears and Roebuck homes...so cool! Not sure if anyone has already recommended this to you but I would love to see you and Hubby do a vid on trying out the Randonautica ap! I have not yet tried it but have watched several videos on it. I was informed that the VOID option is best and also not to speak your intent outloud but write it down or plan between the two of you before hand. I think you would have fun with it as long as you always play it safe! Love your new channel ; ))
