  • Assassin's Creed, who is the smartest Templar antagonist/protagonist in the series. In this video I talk about the main Templars of the Assassin's Creed series, compare and rate their intelligence and choose who I personally think the smartest Templar in Assassin's Creed is. Obviously this is all my opinion, so feel free to leave who you think the smartest Templar is and why in the comments. If you enjoyed this video I've made a lot of Assassin's Creed videos like this including who the deadliest Templar is and who the smartest Assassin is (links below). If you're new here I'd appreciate if you considered subscribing to the channel it really helps me out as we're almost at that silver play button!!! But other than that thanks for watching and have a great day assassins!

I can’t stop thinking about a AC with Shay as the main villain.
Maybe connect AC3, AC Unity and AC Rogue, since they play in same time period, Connor and Arno would be a perfect dynamic duo, and Shay a perfect villian.
Shay The Templar Grandmaster, who knows, maybe he has a son, 2 Years younger than Arno.

Why villain? There is nothing bad about Shay. It would be you being a playable villain if you wanted to kill him. Or he would have to randomly start killing innocence for the hell of it to become one - which would ruin him as a character.

In Haytham's final fight with Connor, you can hear him say that America would eventually end up fighting amongst themselves. I believe this was supposed to be foreshadowing the civil war, so I'm giving Haytham a few extra points.

I personally think that Haytham is the smartest templar here. First of all he manages to assassinate Miko at the Opera house without arousing any suspicion. He was only given the order to kill Miko once he was at the Opera house already, he planned the assassination in like a matter of seconds, this is not something that even some assassins can do. Haytham also assassinated the british templar grand master Reginald Birch at his own mansion!!! Not even the best assassins can pull off an assassination like this.
After going to Colonal America, Haytham was able to build up the Colonal templar brotherhood from the ground up. The colonal brothehood is one of the most powerful brotherhood ever, There were high ranking members on both side of the war. Haytham also planned take down the assassin brotherhood with Shay Cormac. Haytham basically created all the plans that allowed Shay to take down the assassin brotherhood. I would argue that the colonal templars were more like the assassins than the achilles's brotherhood. Achilles literally just wanted power, he did'nt care about the innocents he continued to search for the pieces of Eden even after knowing that they caused earthquakes. He twisted the assassin's rules to suite his own will. Because Haytham's father is Edward Kenway, Haytham knew about the ideas of the assassin better than many assassins. Later he shows to Connor that the assassins are Naive for wanting peace in a world where people were free to do as they pleased.
The reason that Haytham lost to Connor was because he let Connor kill him, this is proven in the book "Forsaken", Haytham wanted to allow Charles Lee escape, while being a good dad and keeping his son alive. He knew that the only way both of these could happen was to sacrifice himself.
Overalll Haytham is one of the best characters in all of assassin's creed, he is a very well created character and is also very charming. The only thing I don't like about him is how cold blooded he is, always killing his interrogation targets, but again he is able to justify this by saying that, they are not useful anymore, and might become a future threat to him if he kept them alive.
While Rodrigo Borgia is also extremely Smart, I don't think he was as smart as Haytham. The only reason he was this powerful and managed to hide from Ezio is because he had powerful allys that defended him, and was the Pope. He also only became the pope by bribing various people. I don't think he was as smart and powerful as Haytham Kenway, the only thing that really makes him powerful is the fact that he's a Pope
btw that really took me a long time to write

Rodrigo was like a turd that wouldn't flush, but that's also what made him a good antagonist. Because he was such a scheming and plotting type of character you really did feel like he was a threat on a level the others didn't. He was the type of character that made you wonder if by doing anything you weren't really doing what he wanted you to do.

I would have to say Haytham. Just because of how well he was able to build an entire order from the ground up. Not to mention how articulate he was. Haytham was a very well spoken character and had a certain charm that made him very likable. And like you said he had both book smarts and street smarts, which wasn't very common in those days.
As for Rodrigo. While he was able evade Ezio for as long as he did, that doesn't necessarily make him the smartest in my case. If you think about it, the only reason why he was able to hide so well is because he had powerful allies to hide behind. I don't think it was solely because he was smart enough to outplay Ezio. In my opinion, Rodrigo's intelligence ends at his ability to rule.

I always felt like Rodrigo died too easily... Ceasare takes him down pretty much effortlessly, but I remember him as the templar grandmaster who held his own against Ezio and basically all the major assassins of the day at once when they ambushed him in Venice... and got away anyway. He was clearly the toughest fight of that game for Ezio by far and took ages to bring down. Even with the extra age, I feel like he probably could've (should've) been able to defend himself a bit more seriously when his son came at him. Age and a bit of extra weight, even with rust, doesn't erase decades of training and experience.

Massively underselling Germain here. Man was so ingenious in his reformation of the order, the assassins literally started killing themselves. Germain set the groundwork for not just Napoleon, not just the hundred years of peace in Europe, but the entire modern Templar Order. And on top of that, he effectively shamed Arno so badly that he stayed silent through the Napoleonic war.

The closest competitor would be Rodrigo and sure he hid from Ezio for over 2 decades but Ezio is more of a planner than a detective. That said, I hated that Rodrigo's death was stupid and how he screams he is the prophet.

I have to give it to Haythem. If only because the Templars were a well established organization by the time Rodrico Borgia came into power. Haythem literally built his own powerbase from the ground up and we know from the game how successful they stayed even after his death.

In my opinion Starrick has to be genius (not comparing to the others, I just love Syndicate, So I comment about it), but the game shows him as someone who have everything and at start just do nothing, because Fryes are not enough strong to just even think about fighting them and than just surrender, cry for his dead allies, shoot "innocent" templars and leave the falling empire to Jacob and Evie...

Idk I think starrick is pretty smart, he’s got monopolies on many industries and businesses in the game, had influence in the banking system, politics and even held control or at least shared control of londons biggest gang and I think even in the opening cutscene described his intelligence and influence over not only many industries and influence in london but in many other parts of the world

If Connor wasnt Haythams son then Haytham would have died a lot sooner quite simply.I have already explained in a big comment why Connor is superior but primarily,he was trained to kill him by a man that actually faced him in his prime and wouldnt be sent to do so until his mentor knew he was ready and in every confronation except the very end when Connor has taken too much damage at that point by the cannonballs,he had the advantage.
Successfully repelled Haytham when they first met, blitzing him and pushing his hiddne blade aside and overpowering him in a contest of strength,if you zoom in on Haythams face he looked shocked and scared.

Totally Agree with Rodrigo being the smartest, not only because he once has the piece of Eden, but also because he's the Pope, because he could just convince many people that the Assassins are bad if he want to.
Haytham, is Smart but not the smartest, and also Deadly but not the deadliest either, which makes him the most skilled one (but i feel like Haytham can do most things that Shay do, like killing every Assassin of the Colonial brotherhood)
Shay, definitely the Deadliest, because we play as him in AC Rogue and we see how he destroyed the Colonial Brotherhood (the only reason why Shay can defeat the Assassins easier, is because he once an Assassin of Colonial Brotherhood, so he knows they're working, unlike Haytham)

To defend Haytham's case more, his plans were almost equally as intelligent as Rodrigo, with better intentions. He wanted to replace Washington with Lee (who he believed was a better General). He sought to purchase land from tribes so the new Government couldn't seize it. He had guys on both sides (Charles Lee & John Pitcairn) to help him end the war quickly and peacefully. Mualim and Borgia wanted power, Haytham sought real control and order.

  • @emanueldaneshvar3234
    @emanueldaneshvar3234 ปีที่แล้ว

I’d say Haytham primarily because of the time period. Haytham and Rodrigo are both geniuses when it comes to leadership and battles/fighting, and just in that sense it could go either way. But if you think about it, Haytham is around in the 1700s and Rodrigo in the 1400s, meaning Haytham has 200 years worth of overall knowledge on Rodrigo. Also I think it worth mentioning that almost every big thing Haytham did, he did himself, unlike Rodrigo. Rodrigo would have other people do a lot of things for him or speak for him while Haytham did the talking and fighting and more himself. Lastly, Haytham was a powerful Templar for a large portion of his life like Rodrigo was. Although Rodrigo clearly did this thing of evading the assassins while executing his master plan better than Haytham, Haytham did it very well too. If anything Haytham executed his plan while actively engaging the Assassins to some degree which could be considered more impressive.

He stayed prominent I'm every plan while never appearing as enough of a threat to become a target until he plotted his way to the top. A less intelligent man would've ended up becoming a target much earlier

Little bit of a side rant here, but I think Connor was still in the right about how to bring about peace, Haytham was just more well versed in the art of arguing. You can't force peace, that's just subjugation. That being said, Haytham is still VERY smart and won most of his arguments because he knew what he was talking about more than his opposition. Connor came to the right conclusion, but wasn't as knowledgeable as his dad do he couldn't argue adequately.
