  • Who is the Deadliest Templar in the Assassin's Creed Series. In this video I do what I did for the Assassins except this time for the Templars. I analyze and compare many of the major antagonists and protagonists of the Assassin's Creed series who were Templars and identify who the deadliest Templar is. If you enjoyed this video I make a lot of Assassin's Creed related content on my channel so consider subscribing for more in the future and checking out my previous videos. Thanks for watching and have a great rest of your day assassins (or...templars).

In the assassin’s creed 3 book called forsaken it’s revealed that haytham let Connor kill him with the hidden blade because he loved Connor and didn’t want to kill him

Connor literally said he wasnt even in condition to fight the guards.
People take that he let him win shit too seriously,Connor is shown better than him in every comparison(except social matters lmao)and Achilles who fought Haytham wouldnt let Connor go after him until he was ready.Connor also didnt want to kill him except the very end when he was getting choked, shit he was actually less willing to fight him and was ambused and still got the upper hand and the not wanting to kill him argument doesnt make sense with just punches.
As for the fight the novel describes them similar, and Connor is implied to be getting the edge even though he is very injured from the start, even Haytham said Connor was being the one to triumpth until the cannon, the novel also says he stabbed him before he could even react when he decided to kill him
Connor was literally trained to kill Haytham, thats all you need to know.
And yeah i know people will shit on my comment and dickride yours due to Haytham being way more popular but idgaf,i just say the facts and let people do what they want with them.

Shay Patrick Cormac is easily the deadliest, without question. He pretty much spearheaded the near-extinction of the Colonial Brotherhood during the French-Indian War, being skilled enough to take down opponents who not only knew the same combative methods as him, but are also the ones who taught him those very methods in the first place. He is what the TH-camr 3TopicsGamer called the Darth Vader of Assassin's Creed, and it definitely shows. That earns the title of deadliest Templar in my book.

Taking all of his skills and tools into account, there is no other Templar as dangerous. He is THE Assassin Hunter. He even has an outfit described as Assassin Killer. And I think the mentality plays a role too. Shay loved his former brothers like Haytham loved Connor, but he still did what had to be done.
Also, his assassination of Charles Dorian might be the best in the series. No witnesses, no noise, disappeared like a ghost and no one knew it was him even years later. The air is still, and I am a Hunter

Haytham is definitely the deadliest, he just kills everyone in his way as for hostages like he killed 2 templars serving Church while Connor kept them as hostages. He also killed so many british prisoners and massacred so many rioters. I wouldn't wonder if it was him who sent the guards after Revere, Connor and the rioters on Tee party. Including Haytham and Shay in these discussions is cheating to me cause their core methods in how they kill is full Assassin. They have an advantage in training none of the other Templars had. Just how lethal would the others have been if they received the same training? It's easy to be deadly when you're fully trained to kill a person in 500 different ways.
Templars always have been more political compared to the assassins. They rather have others do their dirty work even though they have no issue to stick the knife in if they have to do it themselves. To me the most deadliest Templar in that aspect is Rodrigo Borgia. Man is a master manipulator and swindled his way into becoming pope despite not being Christian which is as close to being undisputed king in Italy in those days.

I'm pretty sure there are a few or alot of assassin hunters who are templars in AC like when you unlock the templar from AC 4 it's a little bit similar to shay's outfit with the big collar to prevent assassinations or hidden blade stabs, I wish ubisoft stuck with shay's hood for his main templar outfit and other templar outfits especially the assassin killer one. Remember Duncan wolpole, he was an rogue assassin. There are countless assassin's who became rogue in AC lore and same goes with templars but probably less for templars. Probably the reason why assassin hunters aren't that well known is that never had been successful as shay, even then history forgot about shay because shay was a hitman like ghost, just look on how nobody even notices shay when he assassinates charles dorian.

  • @DeathMessenger1988
    @DeathMessenger1988 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Okay, let me break this down.
    - Robert de Sable is our introduction to the Templar antagonists, so he obviously would be outshined by future villains. Sure, he's an OG Knight Templar and a seasoned warrior, but he is barely in the game and both we and Altair struggle to understand what's really going on through most of the missions. Most of his danger and intimidation comes from the "I have a Deus Vult Army" factor. But let's remember that Templar Knights fought in heavy armor and chain mail using longswords, and Robert was agile enough to grab Altair by the arm and throat in their first meeting. He's a strong fighter, but not very fast or flexible.
-Like you said, Rodrigo Borgia is only deadly outside combat. He's this hooded, shadowy figure that's manipulating the Pazzi and Barbarigo, throwing Italy into chaos through plots and his position in the Vatican, and everyone who knows their history will fear him as history's most dangerous pope. He's basically a Mob Boss who looks like a Sith Lord and controls the Church. He may have some sword training, but is a middle-aged fatso that wears no armor with those fancy clothes and uses a common weak sword. Twice he fought Ezio, and twice he failed.
    - Cesare's main problem is that Ubisoft and Machiavelli propped him up as the greatest threat Ezio would face, but ultimately turned him into a cutscene pushover. This guy was supposed to be Machiavelli' "The Prince" inspiration, so he was supposed to be cunning, deadly and dangerous, a worthy opponent for Ezio in every wat! Imagine if they actually made him like he was on The Borgias series, especially leading the Roman Templars as they were before everything fell apart (i.e. the Templar Agents that became the Abstergo Animus Multiplayer Avatars). Let's be sincere, Ubisoft did Cesare AND Micheletto dirty. Cesare was a skilled sword fighter (but not "the best who ever lived" for sure) with a Roman Longsword and a wheellock pistol, and only wore chest and neck armor (though admittedly good ones, given how many times Ezio has to slice them).
    - Let's give Ahmet some small credit: Dude was falling to his death out the side of a mountain cliff, and didn't hesitate to pull his dagger to try and kill Ezio mid-fall. However, most of his deadliness comes from controlling the Byzantine Templars from the shadows. Like Rodrigo, he's a shadow player. While he probably had some military training as Ottoman Prince, that didn't show through (especially since everyone and their grandma keeps saying his bloodthirsty brother will make a better Sultan). And like Cesare, he's relegated to being the leader of a powerful faction that still got killed off completely right under him.
    - I'd also say Shay is a tad more deadly, mainly because he was directly trained by the Assassins and has access to more weapons. Haytham has many Assassin traits, but he's mainly a military officer type of character. Both Haytham and Charles are military officers, with training and discipline, but not very flexible in their combat training. Haytham is more disciplined and coolheaded, while Charles is temperamental and headstrong, and both have always focused more on managing the Colonial Templars' plots and strategies. All three fight using sabers/cutlasses and flintlock pistols, but Shay dual wields both as well as carrying his air rifle, rope darts, knives and smoke bombs.
    - So, let's address Saint Germain. While he's not the deadliest Templar in combat, this guy is fearsome for two reasons: First, he's a Sage of Aita, so he's got Isu knowledge and memories just like Black Bartholomew in AC Black Flag. But we never see him fight with any weapons other than the Sword of Eden. Aita was a scientist and politician, not a warrior.
-Starrick was the inevitable modernization of the Templar Order. His power comes from controlling industry and commerce, and he's from an era where physical combat is no longer the main aspect of war. While he probably has some boxing training (as you do as highborn educated Victorian British aristocrat XD), he is only deadly in real combat if he has a revolver.
So, if you put them all in a Battle Royale (no Pieces of Eden or teamups allowed):
Robert de Sable vs. Rodrigo Borgia (not as Pope with the Staff of Eden, but hooded and with a sword fighting Ezio in Venice) vs. Cesare Borgia (final duel with Ezio) vs. Prince Ahmet (same) vs. Shay Cormac (fully armed as in Rogue) vs. Haytham Kenway (fully armed as in AC III first missions) vs. Charles Lee (as he is fighting alongside Haytham in first missions) vs. Saint Germain (no Sword of Eden) vs. Crawford Starrick (only a pistol, no
1 = Ahmet would probably be the first to go. He's only ever seen wielding a dagger, while all the others have armor, swords and/or firearms. Even if you gave him an Kilik, Shamshir or Scimitar, I don't think he'd be able to do much. He might charge at the more Modern Templars and get shot, or try dueling Cesare/Robert and get cut down.
2 = St. Germain would be the second. He has no weapons, no known combat training and his manipulative charisma or inhuman intelligence won't help him here. Even if he tried to hide and wait for an opportunity to strike, almost all his other opponents are too clever or resilient to fall for that.
3 = Rodrigo would probably fall third. If he's not shot by Haytham, Shay, Charles, Cesare or Starrick, he'll be shot by the very same or stabbed by them sans Starrick plus Robert. Even if Ahmet briefly tries fighting either Robert or Cesare, he'll be left fighting a soldier that has far more strength, skill and youth than him.
4 - It's a hard tie between Robert and Cesare. Robert has the best armor, but it would also make him slow. Cesare is less protected, but is more agile and has his wheellock pistol. However, I'd bet on Cesare because he is far more arrogant than the seasoned Robert, and his sword not piercing enough to get through his armor or chain mail. His wheellock pistol is his best advantage, but he only has one shot (with a round, blunt bullet), wheellock pistols aren't very accurate or powerful and most of Robert's vital spots are covered with armor. And he's far more exposed to firearms than Robert, so any of the more modern Templars will easily gun him down with their superior guns.
5 - Robert would be next. It's a medieval knight vs. 4 guys using pistols, one of which is Starrick with a revolver (which has more penetrating bullets than flintlocks) and another being Shay who has a _goddamn proto-grenade launcher._ Robert also wouldn't know what those pistols are (unless Cesare used his on him before dying) nor would be fast enough to try and run even if he did know. He would try to charge them and would die before reaching any of them. It's be El Tiburon all over again.
6 - Starrick would be next. While he has the superior pistol, he has no sword or military training and little combat skills. Haytham, Charles and/or Shay are fast and agile, and could close distance quickly enough to stab him.
7 - Charles would die next. Haytham and Shay both are better fighters and more cool-headed. Since this is a battle royale, Haytham and Charles wouldn't be teaming up.
8 - It'd be hard-fought, but I think Haytham would be the last one to fall. Haytham is good, but Shay literally killed/defeated the entire Colonial Assassin Brotherhood for him.
Winner is Shay Cormac. He has more weapons and more training as an Assassin. While Haytham is a very skilled fighter, it'd akin to a fight between Declan Harp vs Chesterfield (both from Frontier). You have a decorated, disciplined officer fighting against an assassin-hunter trained in the woods to be very agile and relentless. While Haytham is obviously superior to Chesterfield, the result would still be the same.

Haytham's not an anti-hero, he's an anti-villain. I think the term anti-villain doesn't get used often enough. An anti-hero is someone who you know is technically doing the right hting, but you have less sympathy for them and know that they're going to do it in the wrong way (Walter White is a perfect example). And Anti-Villain is someone you don't want to see succeed but you at least have some sympathy for them and understand where they're coming from like the MCU version of Thanos, on in this case Haytham.

It has to be Shay as he took down the entire Creed of his era and his history as an Assassin gives the templars a massive advantage. He's an interesting protagonist because he was ultimately wronged by the creed. I really need to play Rouge don't know why I slept on it possibly due to the navel combat but the idea really intrigued me. Haytham is runner up he's a total badass "i'll feed you your teeth" what an iconic line. He has the knowledge of both and the cunning to match.
I think he definitely let Connor kill him as he couldn't end his son and he may have realised he was in the wrong although he does say proud of him in a way while also noting that he should have killed Connor long ago, implying that emotions and some sense of fatherhood had stayed his blade against his usual judgement.

Shay wins for sure amongst the Templars and probably also the Assassins, as he had all the Assassin/Templar skills and equipment, plus the same kind of Native American hunter/stealth skills as Connor seeing as he was trained by Kesegowaase, and like Connor he is obviously very strong and able to fight bears by himself, so strong he survived a very deadly fall even after being shot, plus two earthquakes, was skilled in seamanship and naval combat, could detect assassin stalkers, he was basically an assassin honed to perfection. His coolness in Versailles in the way he killed Charles Dorian shows how confidently he knows he is the top predator. Even Pierre Bellec who was a deadly master assassin with a bloodthirst for Templars still fled America like the remaining Assassins fled from Shay, and he mentions to Arno that no one knows who killed Charles Dorian. Clearly trying to catch Shay is like trying to catch smoke and anyone getting close would probably be dead before they knew it.

I'd put Haytham over Shay for a few narrative and gameplay reasons. First, the strongest Assassin that Shay kills in a fight is Chevalier (maybe) but even with him it's not clear if they canonically clashed blades. If not Chevalier then Le Chassuer, who may have been an Assassin affiliate (Eivor was too so that shouldn't count against him), but in both cases Shay took no damage. Kesegowasse died by puckle gun, Adewale by sneak attack, Hope by chase, and Liam by fall/luck. Haytham meanwhile fought, bested, and crippled Achilles-the Mentor-and old Haytham barely beat concussion Connor but couldn't finish his son.
By gameplay Haytham is clearly stronger. It's kinda like Connor vs Edward. While it's hard to 1-to-1 compare enemy types between games, the Jagers from 3 seem equivalent to the land hunters in Rogue. Assuming equivalence, Haytham fares much better blade to blade. Shay needs his greater tool kit to stand a chance and even then can't win head on like Haytham can.

Antihero is the best term for Haytham, honestly. He does things his own way, but he isn’t heartless like other Templars. He even helps people when he can.

Same here. Haytham was the first Templar that I actually appreciated after I read Forsaken. When Rogue came out, and I played it that day, I immediately appreciated Shay.

Tbf to Robert, Altaïr is one of the greatest swordsmen the Assassins have ever seen. Even if he is a very skilled Knight, he was the one who was batting up to Altaïr, not the opposite

As main templar antagonists go its got to be shay. But if you look at the side templars id go with Julien du casse. He was like shay where he would hunt down assassins and collect their hidden blades.

I agree that Rodrigo Borgia is probably the smartest templar and that Shay Cormack is the deadliest, but truth be told... Hathaway Kenway is definitely the pinnacle and ideal templar over all, and it's not even close. This of course is all in my opinion.

Shay. He's a man on a mission, didn't let a loved one stop him from completing it unlike haytham.
He's pretty much the sharpest tool in the shed. As he is a man of principle.

Shay didn't let his best friend stop him from completing the mission while Haytham didn't kill his son? Shay didn't think about a "mission" when he left the Creed. He did it cuz it was right. He got to the mission after he met the templars, while Haytham was raised by them
