When Americans think of Asia it seems that they only think of East Asian countries such as China, Japan, Korea etc. When in fact the name 'Asia' originally referred to Western Asia, places like Anatolia, the middle east and India. The word came from what the ancient Greeks referred to those places as.

When Americans think of Asia it seems that they only think of East Asian countries such as China, Japan, Korea etc. When in fact the name 'Asia' originally referred to Western Asia, places like Anatolia, the middle east and India. And they did not ask any from the Middle East, although there's plenty of Southwestern Asian countries, which segregates them more.

Decisions between US-backed military, instable "democraty"/"royality" and communism. every election is a fight between the religious, monarchic, the US supported and the vietnam communistic party. every election is followed by rebelish actions against the fraud victory by the loser.
the economical situation is not really different by the political influence and rise, because the anti-communistic trade embargos were droped since ~1995. the difference is the distributation of money. the monarchic faction would give more money to sacral buildings and temples, the democraties to economical trade areas/some few cities and the communists have a similar position like the democrats, but have traditional support in rural areas. the farmers in cambodia are communistic, poor and need help and at least some support is given by the communists in a show to get this support.
it is similar to italian communistic party after WW2, who was extremly for poor farmers and against conservative land owners and the church. i would suspect, that the vietnam communists killed some rebels/oposition too, but their claim to do it to prevent a second civilwar is not just a lie and their party is basicly the only garanty for at least some social support in the rural area with nearly 60% of the population in these areas. other parties dont care about these regions. every street, hospital, kindergarden, bridge and school in these areas were build by communists. i think some americans should watch the old italian show "don camillo and pepone". communism is like christianity not allways bad. some populations should use it. it is more reasonable, explicit as a poor farmer in a small state.
