On a serious note, I believe that the shields on Anubis's ship may actually have been sufficient to hold back the Death Star's planet-destroying beam, but even if they weren't, Anubis's supergun (with the eyes of Tiamat, which he would have had at the time of Jackson's intervention) may have been able to destroy the Death Star (or at least render it unpopulated) before the Death Star beam can fire -- less loading time.
Very nice and funny too. But don't forget that Daniel & Anubis are energy beings and could easily walk away from that.Even with Anubis being only half Ascended.
