    Might this be the inspiration for Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ? If you've been to Disneyland out in California, there is a place along your cool and dark boat ride where you pass underneath a brick over- hang. Perched up upon the brickwork is the talking skeletal head of a long dead pirate. As you pass underneath him, you can see and hear the bones warn: "Dead Men Tell No Tales" in a low echoing warning.

    its so sad that its deemed racist....if anything, its the absolutely opposite of racist, its a superb movie from the 1940's, by clearly a progressive and non racist writers. (when i say progressive i mean in the right way..not the modern equivalent of self entitled cancel culture 'liberal' woke crybabies) . The movie is mocking the stupidity of segregation. Through the eyes of the young white boy in the film, he has no preconceptions, judgement, hate, fear, for black people. He's a vehicle for what culture should be, fully embracing people of any race. Bear in mind this was made in the 40's, before the civil rights movement. Despite his regressive parents attitude portrayed in the film, the boy is the opposite, he clearly holds uncle Remus in high esteem, with much respect and love....and the tar baby....people who deem this racist are absolutely missing the point....on so many levels. its satire, mocking the ridiculousness of racism...it blows my mind how people miss the point so entirely. This movie would no doubt of had a very positive influence on the young generation in the 40's and 50's who watched this and turn away from a regressive racial attitude towards the black community that the older generation would have at the time, to a far more inclusive one....people who deem this movie wrong now....are simply incorrect. they are looking at it from an inverted lens.

    The real story. Involves fox. Trying to. Hang and then drown And burn and another way which escapes my mines. And he can’t find rope or a pond etc. And rabbit begs to be throw. Into the thorns. After each one knowing he’ll get the tar or tar baby off of him. Tell the damn story as written. And that original Ending is way better. I don’t understand cutting it out.

    Thanks for narrating in this racist, stereotypical accent - which proves why the ride at Disney is being completely dismantled and re-worked. It should be because its based on a racist book, record, and movie. And yes, I too remember it as a child. I saw the movie in the theaters and actually had the record / LP. But my mother was smart enough to tell me the truth about its racist origins and underpinnings. The fact that a global corporation like Disney thought this whole concept was a good idea, even back then, and is just now acknowledging that the ride is problematic, is utterly amazing to me!

    • @sheshotjfk8375
      @sheshotjfk8375 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not. People who think it is are idiots. Uncle Remus is a collection of old southern folk tales created by black folk. They were originally passed down orally until one guy compiled them into a book. To say that these stories are racist is to imply that southern black folk were creating racist stories about themselves. That is just the DUMBEST thing I can think of. The whole controversy surrounding these stories just shows how incredibly stupid and misinformed liberals actually are. Now let me ask you this. Who is the racist? The person who appreciates and wants to share the folk tales of another culture or the one who wants to ban the folk tales of another culture because they are different?
