1. How to tell how bad or good the motor is by tasting the oil
2. You don't need to have the best of the best of equipment to get stuff done
3. You absolutely do not have to act grown up to have fun!

I remember back in the day when I would stop by my grandpa's farm, and we would on cars and trucks, and then his eyes would glaze over, and he would go into a dead toned monologue in an attempt to get me to buy the specific brand of soylent his overlords were telling him to infect me with. The good ole days for sure.

Great seeing the kids playing in the car. My uncles farm had a old Mustang parked there that I used to go sit in it and shift and make care noises, squealing tires, etc. Neat seeing that.

Just a quick thank you. My going to town rig is a 75 Camaro. I was having trouble with the HEI ignition. I've never had a car with HEI. On one of your vids you worked on a car with the same ignition system and I was able fix mine by learning from watching you. So Thank you.

Holy christ the hours I spent as a kid playing behind the wheel of old junk cars, or whatever cars were around, or pieces of cars, or even cars that were mine that I was old enough to drive but still likes to just sit and drink it in and imagine the possibilities... who am I kidding. I'll gladly play around in a car in my 30s.

A guy is watching a guy at 3:30 a.m. take out an engine by himself and a guy is going to be exhausted all day Saturday but it's well worth it. Derek, I have to say thank you, for all of the work you do. You continually bring solid content to the car community, the kind that doesn’t leave us hanging. I’ve been a car guy all my life and there’s a lot I’ve had to learn alone. It’s been refreshing being able to find content that covers every aspect of whatever you’re trying to learn, in such a simple way that seems to really resonate with others. And to turn education into inspiration is absolutely the pinnacle of what a great teacher could be. You truly are a hero
learning alone is half the fun. My car buddy moved to FLA and up and died on us. His ticker was bad. He had a pacemaker as it was Whatever made him think moving away was going to do for him didn't pan out.
Great to see the little humans growing up and helping you in the shop. You are doing the dad thing right and they will remember these days as they grow up into the adults you are molding them into!
I could watch Derek 24/7.

The boys are growing like weeds! It's great that you include them in the work because they are learning invaluable lessons for life. They are going to be better prepared for life than a lot of these kids who play video games or watch TV or Tik Tok all day. Really enjoy seeing you teach them like my dad taught me.

Its a freeze warning and winter storm watch in central texas , nothing better than watching VGG .
Derek’s boys are gonna be some of the best mechanics around by the time they’re able to drive. 😂 I ❤️ love it that he does things with his kids. Little Grip Garage is awesome too. I like working with my boys. In my last video I had 2 of my boys rebuild 2 Mikuni Carburetors. 😊 It was fun.
Best part of the video was in the Timelapse where you showed Bradley how the blower worked. Brought some memories back for sure.

That was a lot of work. Yeah, I used to play in all of Grandpa's old cars too when I was a kid. Traveled the world in those old cars that didn't move.
I've been drinking AG1 for the past three months. I almost immediately felt the difference in my gut. It's not cheap, but it works, and that is what matters.

My dream car is a 1973 Monte Carlo. No one seems to pay attention to those on car channels. Or anywhere else for that matter. I know this is a 74 but it's close enough to enjoy every video you've made on it.

Good job so far with the monte. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I always wanted that year model because my first car was an 82 with the little 305. Even still the single tire burnouts and donuts were epic.
