    Dear Gary the mere desire of wanting to not be prejudice, it a victory in itself. That is one step, now you must ask our creator to reach down inside you and pluck out by the root all that is not his love his kindness and his blessings to every living thing. Then just keep up with that desire to rise above that thing..........

    Why can't they flood the media with videos like this that promote peace and harmony instead of the "hate" speech, "divisive" speech, and "us versus them" rhetoric that we see everywhere in the media today?

    One more thing......when a white person looks at a person of different skin color, think, how would I want my daughter treated, my granddaughter, the answer is always the same, like a respected cherished fairy princess, period.

      Anne N ..Miss Anne ..what the hell do you mean..how would u want my daughter treated..so are you saying that any person of colour mistress their women or girls...and white people don't. .surely your intelligence level is better than that. ..

      i dont think he meant that at all. i think hes saying when you look at a person of colour treat them, as you would your own daughter....

      Anne N Of course. People need to see people, of the same looking and different looking, as what they are. People. They have a family, friends, dreams, fears, etc, etc. Just as yourself. Respect and love for everyone is what is needed.

    What I saw was half the story. I am white and I like all kinds of women. From what I have went thru every race is racist. I really liked this girl and because I am white. It could not go anywhere. Her family did not approve of their daughter with any white guy. I was told if I had any black in my family history I would of been alright. I can't do almost all that she told him to do. I would get hurt.

    • @Divinefavour01
      @Divinefavour01 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You are right that racism exists in every race, but i think it will be a mistake to think that just because one family was not accepting because of your race that all families will be so. The same way that just because a white person have those views does not mean that all whites are like that. As you said you like all kinds of women so the issue of race isn't a stumbling block for you therefore you do not need to go through those suggested steps. The issue is with the other person and so you need to just keep being you.

    It's true, there aren't enough of those conversations. I saw a quote somewhere, attributed to Mark Twain I think, that said, "Travel is the enemy of all prejudice." This is what it means, in some ways. Not necessarily geographical travel, but travel into those worlds from which we've closed ourselves off, as a culture. Or better, a mix of cultures. I don't think I'm prejudiced and definitely not racist, for the most part. Though I'm sure that there's some kind of sub-level uneasiness that comes with just not knowing enough varieties of people. And I know a LOT of different kinds of people, having lived in big cities for the last 30 or so years. I want more though. In fact, I'd say the problem for me is to find a way not to seem TOO eager to get to know the "other" in this world. I feel a strong desire to ask too many questions, to want to talk about it too much, to get to the other side of the issue. I worry about becoming that over-eager white guy, at risk of sounding sycophantic or over-justifying. But hey, maybe that goes away with a lot more interaction too. Anyway, yes to this video. Reaching out is a big idea. Worth pursuing.

    My opinion is try hugging a black person or touch them without flinching. If you can go through that and realise you are actually hugging a human being who is just like you without being negatively affected by their skin colour then it becomes easier to get to know them just by having a conversation and asking each other questions. Personally if a person from a different race starts talking to me I give them the attention, smile and it becomes easy to have a conversation. I start conversations with people from different races too and most of the time people are friendly. I also think if you have peace in your life it's easier to interact with other races because you will see them as human beings without being affected by the colour of their skin. It's just the skin colour which is different, and the rest is basically the same .............😏☺️😊🤷‍♀️

    White man & black woman marriages increased some 30% from 2012 to 2017. (from 9% to 12%). Population growth during same period in US was just 4%. Black marriages didn't grow at all.

    As a 67 year old black woman, born and reared in the deep south, a direct heir of the american slave. I, nor my parents, never felt the need to have a conversation about race. I cannot ever remember having negative thoughts about whites. I never felt the need to treat them or any race different than myself. Of course there is the history of racial injustice in america . My family ended up owning the very land on which they had been slaves and they where separated from whites for over 50 years after the civil war. The notion handed down was treat white people with respect........thats it.

    interesting we are expected to have compassion, empathy and grace for our terrorrizers.
    Gary did sound like he was trying to be a decent person though.
    2:00 what she said! just because racialized people are advancing, doesn't mean it is coming at your expense or the expense of anyone else. however, amerikkka was built at the expense of abducted Afrikans, their ancestors, Indigenous Peoples and their ancestors.

    Prejudice is a learned behavior - and it can be unlearned if people are willing. I've raised my children to never speak of a person by their skin color - if they see a person male or female - they'll say I saw this lady or man etc never by their race. It might seem silly but we need to see people and not our built-in insecurities .
