I wish my dad was there for me as a child. He cared more about drinking and we hardly had any money. At times we'd sit in the house with hardly any food in the fridge and no electricity and gas.My mum tried her best to raise us right, I'm really close to her, but I just wish I had a loving dad. I get so jealous seeing all these children having great father figures in their life that loves them and guides them, but then I think 'Where was mine?'. I'm 18 now and our relationship as father and daughter isn't that great and we always seem to argue. I just wanted a good dad, not someone who cared about himself too much. Was that too hard to ask for? Anyway about the video, I agree that men should be celebrated as fathers. Why can't men do the same tasks a mother does or stay at home to be a house husband if they wanted to, so they can care for their chidren? I really hope I find someone in the future who's going to be a great dad to our children. I've always wanted to be a mum, I just want to give my child/children love. I want them to know I'm there for them no matter what and I want them to be able to come to me for advice and not feel afraid to tell me things and how they're feeling.

Why celebrate something a man is supposed to do? Because men aren't men if they are cowards, but are men if they are worthy of their goals, and doing a daughters hair, fighting through discrimination, is something to celebrate, if their goal was doing just that.
I get so tired of people being surprised that I cook dinner for my family every night, or having the school call my wife first about EVERYTHING even though my kids and our instructions say to call me first, or the hair dresser asking my kids if they think their mom will approve of the cut I've ordered for them. My wife is a great mom, but in our family, those are some of my roles. It's not the guys who are surprised either, it's almost entirely women (of any age) who can't seem to believe that a guy is doing these things. We do stuff like this all the time. Maybe it's television, where dads are either morons or brutes and moms are super human do-it-all wonder machines, and every time a dad does something right in a commercial, the mom has to come in behind him to double check and be surprised that he didn't screw it up? Sorry for the venting, but this just gets so old.
