All the more reason to avoid having to disclose your criminal history. Mandatory minimums, 3 strike rules, and this prison industrial complex continues to disenfranchise the disenfranchised. Great story. I heard about this bakery on NPR.

There are plenty of places of work that could do this with little problem with good supervision, ex drug dealers are not monsters just people who made really bad choices in their lives.

Without you supplying context I will assume you are just a crazy person.

This story of why he did what he did and it's cost to his life is very moving. I'm happy for this man, whom I will never meet or get to know. My son also has a felony charge, unlike his it is due to drug use and robbery w/o a weapon. I need to say that those who have jail or prison time doesn't necessarily mean that when released they are "upstanding citizens" they can go either way, a choice made while incarcerated as well a choice after release. This man tried to turn his life around and was met with rejection which shouldn't be, just because you have a record for making the wrong choice in your life doesn't mean you didn't choose to change. Greysons policy on hiring those w/a felony record and this mans story should be all over the media for other companies and those who have been convicted can be given hope that they can have a future despite their past. More Companies need to be willing to change their hiring policies for all those who are released and want to be a better person than the one they were before. I wish this man and his family the best. Very touching and brought a tear to my eye out of happiness for him. As a whole collective we need to help each other and learn to trust again in those who have made serious mistakes. Extremely uplifting. Thank You Upworthy for showing this story. Grt. Choice indeed.

I apologize for the misspelling of the Company name in my previous comment. It should be Greyston not Greyson.
