I'm primarily a PVE player and don't enjoy a lot of things about Destiny's take on PvP. But Solstice challenges required hand cannon kills, PvP kills, and super kills. So I loaded up mayhem and ran Sunshot. I'd never used it in PvP before. I had a surprising amount of success with it, even in the midst of the chaos caused by constant supers. There's a lot of value in the clean-up potential of that explosive shot. I'm not at all surprised you pushed it to S-Tier.
That's so interesting to hear! It really is strong and you're dead on, the clean up potential and being able to make use of the explosive shot is powerful. I think hawmoon is definitely S tier depending on your playstyle. I don't think aggressive shotgunners are going to get as much mileage out of it, if I'm in the mix with my opponents of course I want to land precision shots but I'm really just focusing on getting as much damage in as possible in a short window so I won't be taking full advantage of paracausal shots. If I'm playing passive or playing against a team that's very passive however I have an amazing dueling handcannon with top of the line stats in almost every single category and if I'm patient drawn out fights can almost always set up with a two tap or one tap that my enemies won't have available to them. In drawn out engagements hawkmoon will easily decide who the winner is in my experience.
I would agree with you here fully. In the right hands Hawkmoon is easily S Tier to a player who knows how to get the most out of it and play to it's strengths. Has a learning curve and punishes bad habits, only reason I placed in A+.

I'm currently using my Timelost Fatebringer on my Warlock & actually trying out different loadouts on my Hunter & Titan (Hunter has a Legendary HC in the Secondary Slot) when it comes to Exotic Hand Cannons? There's only two for me with an honourable mention for a third. 1. Thorn, paired with Necrotic Grips on my Warlock! Usually I run a Disruption Break GL for maximum carnage! 2. Hawkmoon, I currently have three. Two that I use regularly & one that pretty much stays in my Vault. The Rangefinder Roll Xur sold a week or two ago & a Fluted Barrel, Opening Shot, Heavy Grip Roll I've had since the Exotic Mission was available. The third has Hipfire Grip so doesn't see much use really. Honourable Mention: Sunshot! Whilst I'm genuinely annoyed it doesn't spread Scorch with the Solar 3.0 update!!! It still fits into Solar Builds very nicely & who doesn't love massive explosions!?

I feel like the Ace of Spades is a *little* overrated as it’s the first every exotic I unlocked, and the first item I got an ornament for, but that doesn’t stop it from being my favorite gun it D2, the face gun of the game, and possibly the one everyone refers to other than hawkmoon.
I find it criminal to have crimson not S tier aahahha its by far my fav hand cannon for pvp. Easy to hit heads. Easy recoil. Heal and mag refill on precision kills.
I find the recoil animation of sun shot throws my aims off. It just seems to almost fling out of your hands everytime you shoot blocking your line of sight.
It does kick pretty hard and if you spam shots at all it can be hard to control. Taking just the slightest moment to line up the shot helps a lot I found. But even body shots with it will flinch the hell out of your target.
Eriana's is awesome 100%, but it being a special weapon just didn't fit it with my main goal, which was to discuss AE on some of these and how they stack up as primary weapons. I'll try and include it next time, the ammo boost does help it.

Ace is really good in PVE too (at least for me) I typically focus on Ad clearing as I’m not good with DPS but if you can get a headshot on early spawns it’ll wipe out everything with firefly and the memento mori will help you take down bigger enemies faster too. Plus the reload speed is often overlooked, if you get a precision kill then reload it’s a LOT faster and that really helps

I wanted people to know it was up to date for pvp this season, apologies if that was misleading. Yeah hand cannons are not typically seen as the best pve weapons, especially when there are no champion mods for them currently.
I recently got malfeasance and honestly using it in the crucible its prity fun I managed to destroy the enemy team in elimination quite a bit of times with it also I think it should get a catalyst perhaps it could change the exotic perks having to stick 5 onto the enemy to like 3 or something?.
I think that would be great. I really did like the way malfeasance felt, just doesn't offer as much as some legendary 180s do. I hope it gets a really good catalyst eventually!
With rangefinder nerf coming, slot of weapons that are dependent on that perk are about to fall from glory. Anyways Cantata-57 and Fatebringer will always be s tier in my opinion cuz they don't rely on metah shifts to be good
I hear you there. My Dire Promise will continue to be good which is nice. Rangefinder + Opening Shot offsets the aim assist falloff nerf that Rangefinder is getting. Can never go wrong with what's consistent for you.
Crimson A-? I’ve never lost to an ace of spades or any other hand cannon on the list with it. With radiance it’s a 2 round burst to kill. Obviously you’re just not very experienced with it. Heck I even drop peeps running adept horrors least and peace of mind all night tonight in trials. The only thing I lose to is fusions, shottys, and freaking bow users.
I can 100% say it is not my most used weapon! I absolutely see why it's good and why a lot of people could love it. Once I got the catalyst it felt great and I'm sure if I used it more I might feel different. Genuinely curious, do you play mnk or controller with it? I did not use it on controller.
@@GreyGamingGG I play console only. I know most people that I’ve talked to about it says it sucks for mnk so that could be why. On controller though you’re either good with it, or suck with it. There’s usually no in between a for this weapon and I think it’s do to how it kicks back different than other weapons and can be a distraction. However once you’ve mastered it, it’s a force to be reckoned with.
@@XxSylasxX theres an interesting reason why crimson "sucks" on mnk, and thats because the sight is bugged at 105 fov! Dropping fov to 90 makes the sight visible and makes the gun much much better :D
Ive mained Thorn since week 1 on Destiny 1! I got really lucky getting an exotic quest. None of my friends had any idea what we were getting into, it was my first exotic and my only love. Really hoping some day it gets a buff here at some point, maybe even returned to 150 RPM

It sure is, but sunshot doesn’t need head shots for ad clear. Ace is a great gun, I would know, but for pve its gapped by sun shot.

Correction: Lumina grants remnants on every kill not just precision
Even if they just bumped thorn up to 60 range it would be A+ it's really a needed catalyst now that jade exists

Ace of Spades has been my favorite above all since it dropped. I haven’t broken down the one from the quest and have 25k kills with it in pve🫠
