  • If you are live streaming you are more than likely streaming in high definition and that makes a lot of sense. If you are streaming in 4K you are going to need a higher bandwidth and you would also hope that your audience are going to take advantage of that. With the release of Wirecast 15 you can now capture and stream in 4K.
If you have a 4K capture card why capture in 4K? Well that allows you to zoom in without having to zoom on the camera and not lose any resolution on your output. You should be able to zoom in 200% without noticing. This is great if you want to have a static camera, start with a wide angle and then zoom in. I find this useful for when there are multiple presenters and they are different heights. I set it for the tallest and can then make other shots for the other presenters. It is also useful if you have an interview or panel and can set shots to pan.
I still record in 4K, I always record in 4K as a backup and it is good for archiving too.
Here I am showing you how this works with Wirecast but if you want to see how it works in OBS then click on this link, • Capturing 4K with OBS ... , by the way, Wirecast does a much nicer job of the zooming.
Click on this link Telestream where you will find Wirecast telestream.8bx...
