After seeing your video I dropped everything and flew back. Thankfully it was still there. It is now mine. Thank you for your knowledge. I have learned so much from you! 🙏🙏🙏
Laura, great finds! I am originally from Bavaria and that beer stein you found is a tremendous find and would cost quite a bit. It is a limited edition and hand-made (Handarbeit). I would have snatched that up in a heartbeat. The lion is the symbol for Bavaria and he is holding the crest with the Bavarian flag.

Seriously??? Do we just keep and use things longer, here in the midwest? Is that why we're always chiming in with what 1950s thing she's bought is used for....because we still have one ourselves? My friend's parents still have their 1950s refrigerator. They won't get a new one because, well, that one is still running. Maybe that's it. I don't know. Doesn't explain why our dollar trees don't have what's shown on TH-cam either. It's really frustrating.
@@annehenry6243 or people just hang on to things longer. Or sell them at auctions or garage sales. I’ve never seen the abundance of nice things at goodwills around here like she has found.
I think the copper thingy with 4 circular depressions could be an Advent "wreath", especially since there are leaf prints around the perimeter. You would put 3 purple candles and one pink one for the 4 weeks of Advent before Christmas.

Congrats to both of the hand winners!! When I read through the comments, these were two of my favorite. Thanks Laura for taking me along on your thrifting, I love going with you, I get my thrifting "fix" & don't have to spend any money 😆🙂. Hugs & blessings from Texas 💖🦋
Nice purchase, Laura ! The beer stein at 11:51 is a typical tourist item from Bavaria, Germany, and shows the Bavarian arms: lion and what we call "Rautenmuster". Not very old, perhaps from the 70s or 80s, but nevertheless a handpainted item. Greets from GER, U.
Love, love, love! Your vlogs on thrift shopping! Love your style! The wooden plant holder and the two wooden sconces/ pockets go together. It's a set of 3.
*Haha yes!* And it's funny u said that cuz I just came across a mirror at an estate sale that kinda reminded me of the clock or something from that movie.
You talk so much and so fast and you are so know knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I really enjoy your good eye and eclectic choices. Never know what you will choose and show us. You are very gifted.
The blue fu dog? I remember when my grandmother had those-I think she liked Asian influence in artifacts- I’m 75 now so you can imagine how long ago that was-thank you so much for the history on these selections. Oh, I d think that was an old muffin holder.
Congrats to Linda and Pam! Fantastic! Laura love your videos! Keep up the great job! Hope you and hubby have a fantastic holiday ! I truly enjoy all the great ideas, information and knowledge of the things you find! Thanks for all the hard work you do!
Have you made any videos on how to tell silver plated vs sterling or glass from crystal, real turquoise from fake? Great haul today. Can't wait to see your next videos!
I love this channel and, Laura, you look such a nice and fun person!! Watching these videos is like talking to a friend 😊 An random idea: would it be possible to have a video series in which each video centers around a certain brand (or style) of pottery, metal, etc...? For example, to learn how to date those pieces, to recognize them, which are the rare vs. common ones, how to style them... I live in EU and for example I love mid-century West Germany pottery 😊
I just adore you! ❤️ I've been watching you and all your collaborations for a long time and I just want to say thank you for all the positivity and the important messages about valuing great old things instead of shopping new! Good find on the Chemex coffee maker for $6.99! The original Chemex goes back to 1941. The current retail price of a regular Chemex is around $45.00. However, if it is a handblown one they retail for over $100 depending on the size. I have been using the Chemex style with the handle for the last few years.
@ 17:17, er...that IS a bell...it's just missing it's handle. this is my second video of yours, and so far i am liking what i see. i referred a young man named AJ (his channel is called Arif Johari) to your 5-13-21 video because i want him to see something you bought and listed. i think you and AJ have similar taste in some of the things you both gravitate toward (onyx and other natural stone objects, brass and other metals, hand made pottery, interesting vessels). i'll look for your video wherein you recover the 2 little stools you show us here. the two brass wall hangings with the little bowls / pots attached, which you didn't buy...often they have pub scenes on them...i thought they were cool and straight out of my 1950s / 1960s childhood. we had two of them in a large plate size hanging on a living room wall. i've never before seen them with little pots attached. please check out AJ and tell him nowvoyagerNE sent you. *Thanks!* *:-)*
LOVE your videos! So funny... we had that whole set of dishes for years (the blue mugs)😊👍🏻 you are so much fun! I’ve been going to garages sales and thrifting for years. I totally connect with you girl😉😃👍🏻👍🏻 Looks like you had a lucky day. TFS💖
Thank you Laura for acknowledging other cultures and the craftsmanship and care that they put into their work. When an stressed or in pain I always come to your videos because you are so calming in your voice and knowledge that you impart with us to look for those extra special pieces of special art or crafts. You had me at Chemex! LOL. I remember buying one new in 1998 with my husband. We moved from Cali to Utah and chose to donate it. Don't know what I was thinking. BUT, it all comes back to us in the end. Like this week. I found and bought a vintage Chemex pour over carafe a few days ago and thought to myself, "Laura would love this!" Without knowing for sure that you would love it. LOL! And here you are with one. Beaming! 🌞 My middle son, on the spectrum, loves vintage Chemex carafes too! He has been researching their history, and said to me what you did about how in America we tend to create from a 'what's current' disposable point. He watches your videos with me and lit up with the Chemex today. He said that when you look at anything classic it tends to usually have form meets function. "Mom, I like older items for a lot of reasons. One is because they vintage usually last longer and looks beautiful doing so." I agree with him and you. Oh, our vintage, handblown, Chemex has an embossed marking on the top part and green label on the base. It really is a gorgeous work of art that works to help us make the best coffee every day. ☕️❤️ Cheers!
I’m so glad you came by today!!! I was watching another video and got the notification and... well, see ya other video! Ha. I have the long basket you turned down. I put a a couple of cotton t-towels in it and toss my dinner rolls in it for when we host family dinners. That way they don’t get all squished. Once again, love your finds. We found a cool hand carved maraca garage selling Tulsa this morning! Happy Easter everyone! (Perfect hand winners!)
Your bell would make a great cachepot. Put one of those little plastic pot saucers in the bottom or use marine caulk to seal the hole and put a potted plant inside. Love that colorful dog/lion bookend. It could e a decor piece on its own or used to hold books against the wall on a bookshelf. Great haul!! Can't wait to see the footstools transformed. What a steal! Sturdy beautiful furniture pieces for $15 each.
Those stools and pillows were gorgeous…tassels are easily found in thrift stores and can always be replaced. That caste metal piece would be cute with small plants (cacti ?) in it…
OMG this was a great day for finding amazing treasures! Wow!!!! My favorite was.... the stools!!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with them next week! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Dear Laura, first of all Happy Easter! 🐇 I‘m a pretty new subscriber to your channel, but I love your content, especially watching your goodwill hunts.... I also love a good second hand even it’s fashion or furniture..., I’m always impressed how much you know about the staff you’re finding! Today I’ve decided to leave a comment on this video, because you gave me a huge smile as you picked up the ‚beerstein‘ and explained that you love it because of the blue coloring and the lion... 😄 please allow me to explain what you picked here... I’m from south Germany / Bavaria and no, not all of us are drinking beer, eating sauerkraut and wearing Dirndls... 🤪 but we are usually very traditional 😀 and the beerstein you’ve picked is drawn with the Bavarian coat of arm? Sorry I had to goggle this expression - so I hope you get it, blue and white are the traditional colors from our flag and the lion is ‚our‘ animal... so you got a pretty god Bierkrug - how we call it, because it also has a ‚zinc lid/ cover‘.... so have fun with it! 😅 i wish I could also go onto a thrift hunt, but were stumbling here from one lockdown to the next 😕 so your videos are a welcome inspiration Feed! Greeting from Sonja
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy Easter, Laura! 🐣🌸 Wow what a haul!! 🙌🏼 I swear, your Goodwills are the best Goodwills. Mine are big but never so full of goodies 😂 You always pull through! And yay for rescuing lone foo dogs - I have many “strays” myself 😜 I can never leave one lone little guy behind. I have a display cabinet full which wound up turning into an unintentional collection - and now they’re not so lonely anymore! 😜 The color on yours is gorg! ❤️ Hope you have a beautiful day! 💖
Hey Laura, loved the video. Just had to drop a line because I am a 30 year old thrifter / reseller, GAMER mom!!! I often notice many similarities in the personality characteristics of myself and other resellers in the community. Neat! Cool finds, many blessings to your career.
Omg! I subscribed when I saw your Ringo hat, because I am a Beatle gal, and now I see your tee… I am so glad I found your channel, love you, and your so knowledgeable and fun to watch. Your a sweetie ❤️
I really, really enjoyed this video! I hope you do more where you talk and explain what the item is and what uses are!!! Boy did I learn some new items to be on the look out for, like the coffee pot. I never heard of them and I probably would have just walked by it but now know not to!!! I subscribed to your channel and hope to see more great videos like this one!!
I sell succulents in thrifted finds teapots etc and my lovely husband drills many the holes for me with water and diamonds head drill bit. Even fine China! So many times lids are missing from things and succulents find their way into my thrifted containers! In Australia it’s Op Shops :)
Laura, before you move, can you do a full house tour of your forever pieces. I love seeing the little clips of how you incorporate the pieces into your home and how you style them. I’m always taking a screenshot of amazing pictures to keep an eye out for.
Laura, you are such a joy to watch! Your knowledge & sharing that knowledge is a blessing to all your viewers. Thank you for what you do. I have a question. How do you clean those pillows?
I have the exact pair of foo dogs, they were given to me. I didn't really know much about them, but after watching your vlog I looked into the meaning of them. I just love the colour of them....🖐️ 🇭🇲

Laura- I live in Springfield, 2 hours south of Portland. So nice to find someone locally that loves thrifting! Went to H2O in Dallas after watching your video. Holy Cow! Thanks for all your inspiration! Like you always driving thru Hood River on the way to a camping destination. Now will have to stop! Looking forward to more videos!
Jackpot! I love your idea of using raised candleholders for plant stands. I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for those! I've also been a coffee mug addict for years. Can't help it. I always look forward to your videos. Can't wait to see the foot stools recovered.
I love your videos, Laura. You are so down to earth and share your knowledge with us. Do you ever see Selena anymore. I know you must have been a huge comfort to her during her recovery. I know you went many places shopping together. Keep up the good work. Happy Easter 💕💕
Incredible, abundant haul at that first goodwill! The German stein is great-we have the same one at the thrift store where I volunteer in the housewares department. The writing on the bottom means “handmade,” so it’s not a signature but it is indeed a special piece!
@@leftcoastrevivals thank you for sharing your adventures thrifting, decorating, cooking, travelling, and just doing anything. Your personal channel and your TRL videos are highlights of my week! ❤️
The bell! 😂 I have SO done similar things lol! It reminded me, you probably already know this trick, but if you get the google app, you can search using an image. It helps identify what something is if you don’t have a clue. It’s not always reliable but it gives you a start in the right direction. One time I used a picture of an antique dog statue and it gave me real dog breeds as a result. Didn’t help. But another time I used it to search a giant wicker fan and I was able to learn quickly that it was not as old as I though. Worth trying!
great finds! I think that your cast piece is actually a mold probably for candles! thats what it looks like to me, but it would make a great piece for tea lights!
There was a TV show in the 70s or early 80s called Mel's Diner. Flo, the sassy waitress, made "when pigs fly" a popular statement. I think that's when the pigs-with-wings knick knacks became popular, but maybe it was a thing before Flo.

Laura, my 9 year old loves the intro to your video. Just discovered your channel and is enjoying it tremendously.
I Love these videos!! They're refreshing and calming...and fun!
7.24 Those are Northern Charmin girl prints from the 60s. I ❤ them, we had some in our room as little girls.
I’m always taking a screenshot of amazing pictures to keep an eye out for.
you have such nice goodwills! Ours would never have things this interesting or nice! Love your channel!
Laura, you are such a joy to watch! Your knowledge & sharing that knowledge is a blessing to all your viewers. Thank you for what you do. I have a question. How do you clean those pillows?
I had a chemex coffee maker in the mid-seventies! Good memories. Peace
Those were great finds!!Especially the coffee pot.. It pays to know your stuff,I would have passed on that 100%
I love the music with your voiceover today! Yah, baby!
I love your style. ♡

I have the exact pair of foo dogs, they were given to me. I didn't really know much about them, but after watching your vlog I looked into the meaning of them. I just love the colour of them....🖐️ 🇭🇲
“... a more Laura beer stein” 😊
All the boxes checked! ✅
Great finds on this trip! Love your explanations on how to use things.
Thank you from Texas. 💕
I am new to your channel and I have to tell you, you have an amazing eye for mid century. Your home and all your finds are wonderful. Plus, your adorable!
Laura, I think the pillow without tassels would look great with a braided cord around the edges.
I love when I go into a fleamarket stand and feel the vibe. I feel the same way when I look in your cart!
Yes Goodwill day loves it! So happy when seeing you post love all your finds amazing 😊🥰
So glad you made it to H2O! That place is amazing 😍
I love that little serving tray and enjoy all of your cool finds lately, tyfs...😍🌸🐤🐣🐥🐰🐰🐰
Thank you for your professionalism...keep up the good work...
Loved all the things you got. Enjoyed shopping with you. Happy Easter. 💐💐💐
That iron piece would make a cute shot serving tray! :)
Go back to the clear isle and get the white and purple swirl glass vase in the top shelf!😉
Great find on the coffee pot! I've often thought of buying one! Makes great drip coffee! 1971 was the last time I had a cup! Boy time sure does fly!
At work again waiting on my pager to go off. I am watching this Video. Love the candle holders
Yes, my dear it’s a bell
The stool that showed up when you were showing yours they are camel saddles. I used to have one
I love the fabric that's already on the footstools. I like all your explanations about what things are, bc idk much of that. Great finds!
Jackpot! I love your idea of using raised candleholders for plant stands. I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for those! I've also been a coffee mug addict for years. Can't help it. I always look forward to your videos. Can't wait to see the foot stools recovered.
Watching your videos has made my own thrift shopping better and more FUN! What an eye you have. KEEP MOVING
I'm so jealous...I've been looking for a coffee pit like that too. Great find!
The Chemex co. is still in business. But it's probably more fun to find them in the wild!
I love your videos, Laura. You are so down to earth and share your knowledge with us. Do you ever see Selena anymore. I know you must have been a huge comfort to her during her recovery. I know you went many places shopping together. Keep up the good work. Happy Easter 💕💕
Those foot stools are stackable. My Mom had a set of three upholstered in pleather
Incredible, abundant haul at that first goodwill! The German stein is great-we have the same one at the thrift store where I volunteer in the housewares department. The writing on the bottom means “handmade,” so it’s not a signature but it is indeed a special piece!
Thank you! I didn’t know that’s what it said 😄
@@leftcoastrevivals thank you for sharing your adventures thrifting, decorating, cooking, travelling, and just doing anything. Your personal channel and your TRL videos are highlights of my week! ❤️
Can you do a video on some of your favorite interior design books?
congratulations to Pam and Linda!!
the perfect 2 winners!! God bless
You & Laura have made me pick up some bass candle holders...LoL I do like them
great finds! I think that your cast piece is actually a mold probably for candles! thats what it looks like to me, but it would make a great piece for tea lights!
Love the serving tray that will work for your Tiki party too! Good find!
There was a TV show in the 70s or early 80s called Mel's Diner. Flo, the sassy waitress, made "when pigs fly" a popular statement. I think that's when the pigs-with-wings knick knacks became popular, but maybe it was a thing before Flo.
you could plant mini cactus garden in the wooden wall planters. just a light spritz of water every 6 weeks or so.
Hello Laura, love your channel !!!! You are awesome 🌟😍
Laura, your channel gets better and better. Love the coffee pot! ✌ xx
