    It's a game changer indeed. This type of access was one we dreamed for a long time. The feeling when finding a single that came with an instrumental and even an acapella felt like Christmas a long time ago. Creating acapella's back then didn't sound as clean as this either. Very impressive especially on this first release. Nice reporting Crossfader!

      Guys its step forward but as music producer with 14 years of experience the way it works is just as you would eq parts out. Only ai does it for you. Piece of music is frequency and volume. Ai splits this into 3 bands low frequency mid and hi... Its absolutely no different than you would do it manually. Its faster workflow but there no new magic to it. Its literally artificial intelligence equalizer so the quality will almost always have some artifacts like if you do it yourself in the daw strictly depending on the source of the material and how it has been mixed. Also how separate are the parts to begin with in the original production. All it literally is - is AI Eq which is a huge step forward but don't be naive too. Its not gonna eq perfect result out of mediocre produced track. It literally depends on the original quality of the production you give to the AI.

    For everyone saying "this is good for producers" "I wish this was a VST", iZotope RX7 has had this tech forever. This is a game changer for DJs because it isolates specific sections of the track in real time, but isolating vocals has been a thing for a while now.

    • @josephflores4787
      @josephflores4787 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Novakaine I’ve used RX7. It’s similar but you have to import, change settings, and then BOUNCE. It takes a while. This is very instant.

  • @vinnnnyp
    @vinnnnyp 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I was really excited about the Neural mix and promptly purchased the DJay app for my iPad. I tried isolating vocals on three different tracks and tbh I didn’t care for the results. There was a lot of digital noise / artifacts in the track. It *might* be good enough if you mix the acapella with another track playing, but by itself the quality is not good enough. I hope this gets better because it’s really impressive!

    • @baladar1353
      @baladar1353 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've read 3/4 of the comment section already, but your comment was the one I was looking for. It seems most of the commenters didn't even hear that digital noise. I guess because that guy in the video talked through the whole thing, and the track was carefully selected for demonstrating the capabilities of the software. Plus youtube reduces sound quality. I'm not saying he tried to mask the weakness of the software with his voice, but I had the suspicion. Thank you for sharing your experience, it made my day.

    So what they're using is probably code from this paper that was published a while back. You can actually compile it on your computer or even train the AI further. The application was put on a website so you can use it even if you don't know much about programming.
    The original program is called spleeter but like I said, you can use this website which is built off that instead (easier)

    Version 1.01 works on MAC computers. Really cool stuff. This is just the beginning! This AI is going to get WAY better in years to come. I use it in my studio for 2 track mastering from other places. Sometimes the client will need vocals removed and it was from many years ago and cannot find the master stems. This is also allot of fun to play with commercial releases. Which is really what DJ's do! LOL :D BTW iZotope RX will do this and more but the cost is 4Xs more.

      George D the world is changing... I started playing shows on an iPad about 7 years ago and actually used it professionally ever since. Apps like launchpad enable you to interact with music in ways we’ve never been able to before. It allows me more creative freedom as a techie and musician. I started playing instruments as a child and now things like the iPad are allowing for more outlets. I’ll admit walking up to a professional club and plugging in my iPad alone doesn’t happen anymore, but it does get included in my setup for live shows. I can see this being handy and look forward to trying it out, hopefully it does trickle down to RB and Serato, doubtful this ever comes to CDJs anytime soon though 👌

    Hi
    I rocked a party over the weekend with this.
    Gotta say it was so much fun
    Pulled off some very creative mixes.
    It’s not totally clean and depends on source material, however adding quick reverb or delay effects helps covering up any imperfections.
    Loved how when playing old classic tracks (singalong style)
    You can give the track breathing space dropping out elements leaving vocals
    Crowd participation just felt different as we all love singing out loud that favourite part of the track.
    I had a thought that tracks that work well are probably mixed down a certain way.
    You’ll be surprised with some of the results using this tool.
    Also coming from the original skool of vinyl mixing I found that creating mixes with additional stability from the sync button gave more confidence to really be creative with the Mix even more.
    I have heard the arguments and opinions about sync and most I agree with.
    However this is really the time when it will be appreciated and used more.
    Maybe not in every scenario but a few.
    This stem mixing is going to be very interesting in the next couple of years.
    Hope you don’t mind me adding that I have also tried VDJ2021 and the results are the same.
    You will not hear a difference.
    But but but
    I feel companies have room from improvements
    Thanks
    Dusty FINGAZ

    Cool Stuff. Don't forget that Serato is aligned with Izotope and they can possibly integrate their extremely powerful Rx software too. Maybe even as a hardware accelerated (controller side) option to ease the load on our computers. Really dope though where the future is heading.

    I love it. It's seems it's not tied down to only one genre of music. And it seems pro enough to give the results the user develops it's skills for. Not just like another EDM toy. Of course there's massive room for improvement and more features. If I would be using it right now for sure I'd be mixing and experimenting with N.W.A and Bob Marley. Send me one if you can AI guys.

    I take it you can record any acapellas into a DAW such as ableton for the likes of sampling/ production purposes? If so, how would you achieve this? This would help me so much as getting acapellas or instrumentals from disco tracks can be difficult and takes a lot of processing to isolate these sections of a track. This just completely speeds up that process and certainly sounds so much cleaner! Can’t wait to start firing out some house tracks thanks to this🙏🏻

      @@hunterjonesf1 Someone mentioned in his comment that the quality of the separation is far from perfect. He heard digital noises and atrifacts when he used the software, and if you play this vid through a serious audio system, maybe you'll hear it too. Sorry, I did. I"m not trying to say it's bad, but developers have a long way to work on it to make it good enough for using with large speakers. I think they won't leave it as it is right now.
