Even after 37 years of working in the dirt as an operator in local 18 district 6 out of Akron Ohio I still got off operating a large dozer. I just received my 50 year certificate, pin, hat and watch from the union. It was always a pleasure to go to work ( 95% of the time anyway)! Keep up the great work and videos guys!
If I ran something like that all day, my wife would wonder what I had been doing because I would have a big smile on my face that would never come off. Great video and machine.
Goodness me that thing has some power! Way ahead of its time and a superb piece of engineering. Great video Clint, nice to see these old behemoths working hard for their living.🇬🇧
That dresser is absolutely gorgeous and handsome! The straight lines have old school character representing reliability and dignity with the craftsmanship. Thanks for doing what you do guys!
Couldn't agree more. Enjoy the time you have with him Clint. It will be gone before you know it. My dad passed 3 years ago next month. On the job in the seat of his CASE machine. Seems like yesterday......
@@cvw3464 Yes, they are there your whole life and suddenly they are not. My Dad (and best mate) passed in his 88th year, and that was far too soon! To have 3 generations is unique and every minute to be treasured. The wisdom, skills, support and all the many and varied experiences both Hunter and Tucker have been given and shown by their Grandpa and Dad (plus Uncle Scott and Kevin too) is immeasurable.
YES 😊 I think that is an excellent design feature. The two track steering control levers have a high and low speed. I ran a 125 & 175 International front loaders on a big development mainline and side sewer stubs job. I loved them. We had a Case 850- B and a 450-C the 850 case had the raised center between legs two levels for steering. I always steered the wrong way going backwards. So I just started using the pedals on the floor to go backwards
You look like your enjoying yourself with a little seat time . Great change of pace from the normal everyday work. excellent video as usual Clint, keep them coming.
I run a TD 25 for years, and agree they are one of the best for pushing with the planetary drive, power to both tracks turning. Only other dozer that had power to both tracks was the Case with a high and low speed to each track. The High-Low was just OK, but the low was so much slower, turning with a load wasn't good. But the IH Dozer with planetary drive worked great, just enough slower you could turn not problem, but you could also go in neutral or lock track. Newer hydro static drive, which I don't like, without torque drive, is the reason. I like a torque drive, can feel how much you are pushing. Like you videos, keep them up, watching the Cat dozer rebuild now.
This was a wise decision to go and push a crap load of dirt, this tells you how well the dozer is working and to find any problems it may develop if you are to sell it to a customer. Awesome move!
Hi C&C Equipment Business owner I believe it's A Good thing when you are talking and explaining things about your Heavy Equipment Machinery and explaining about the proper ways to Operate the Heavy Equipment Machine's Safely and Properly and your not only the best to restoration of any kind of Heavy Equipment and it's good that you are a great Teacher about explaining about any kind of Heavy Equipment For Safety and proper ways to control and operating the machines and keeping good Maintenance for the Machinery too last and hold up especially when your working and Machine every day that the Machines needs greasing and checking All of the Engine fluid's each and every day before even starting any Heavy Equipment and you At C&C Equipment Equipment My Friend are the very best and I'm guessing your Dad has Taught you very well and you have taken everything in your mind as A Blessing and made Great on each and everything thing you have Learned in All of your Year's of being around Heavy Equipment Mr C &C Equipment Equipment and Owner God Bless you and All of your Family members and all of the great people that you are taking time to Teach and provide a great and safe working environment for All that is around you Mr C&C Equipment !
It's an honest man that can admit their mistakes. My admiration went up 1000% for you and the rest of your crew. Thanks for a very interesting video. Respectfully.
Enjoyed this video Clint as an operator myself good to see another op knows what second gear is and used for . Got yourself a good old strong dozer also
That old Dresser is certainly a nice machine. Definitely prefer a machine like this comapred to the new stuff, thats full of electronics and not repaiable without a computer
Clint this was a well spent 44 minutes learned a lot you explaining the how and why being a big fan and user of International Farmall farm tractors loved it when you said that IH would run rings around a Deere lol....IH was nearly always step ahead of other manufactures in the day too bad they had to fold. This was a excellent change of pace video compared to fixing the machines don't be afraid to do more like this, well done.
It's like that Dresser is pushing a mound of dirt the size of that John Deere your dad is driving! What a beast of a machine! Like they say, they don't make em like they used to. Thanks for sharing! I could watch dirt moving all day long and then some!
Great video my man, i can tell u really have a good amount of seat time just by watching u run that beast. I've ran dozers everyday for over 25 years and i can appreciate a good operator. Just hang in there and keep em comin.
That is a very impressive dozer. I like your content, that shows the equipment working in the real world. I wish you had something 7 days a week, but I know you are busy. Thanks, from The Hill Country of West Texas.
grandpa had 2 TD18's for logging and a TD25 for building roads in Oregon in the 50's. I would love to send you a video of some logging he did back then. He always said his best day was just pushing dirt. That Machine is huge and runs well. good Video again Have a good one.
Really interesting video and good to see a machine of yours working for real!! Spent my whole life in agriculture but only once had a large dozer working on our place - a then new Cat D9 levelling a site for new farm buildings in 1975. He pushed fractured limestone rock having had to break it up with his rear tines, but got down to hard level strata about 4 feet thick which we ultimately had to drill and blast. Keep those proper older machines working!!
So many people would debate the capability of these machines when they haven't experienced any of them. I love hearing you talk about equipment based off of real life experience as well as being an expert on the subject in general. I appreciate Clinton's knowledge drops!!
Hey Clinton, As much as you love working on the big machines - I bet a day or 2 in the seat pushing dirt is a wonderful time for your brain!! Great video! Wonderful info at the end. Thumbs up! Stay safe. Jim
Clint, if you overlayed your own rendition of “ the sound of silence” while you were operating that machine I wouldn’t have been the least surprised, you looked totally content in that seat and were fulfilling the dreams of us 7.2k viewing audience as you happily pushed dirt in that monster machine. Thanks for the explanation at the end, I really appreciated your personal view on various machines and the operator intro to the Dresser
Dad on the loose, no stopping him 😂😂 thanks for sharing your thoughts on operation of this dozer. Very interesting on how these machines came about and the hard work we did with them!!💪💪 Have a great week 🤗🇺🇸
Thanks for explaining the operation of the 25… grew up in a family business with a mid 70’s TD-25, but was too young to run it (11-13 yrs old) and couldn't reach everything. Always wondered what those levers did.
Great video…! I particularly loved the walk around, operation explanation of the Big TD. I have heard a couple of diehard CAT TH-camrs even make “favorable” comments about International’s designs, and they wondered why CAT never made their own constant full powered steering/turning system, like the one you explained here. Thank you sir.
I love watching your videos!! Very informative!!! Even though I’m a regional OTR trucker, pulling mostly tankers, I LOVE watching heavy equipment just ripping and roaring!!!
Easily the most interesting movie you have made! Thank you for explaining and showing the controls and performance of the Dresser. Easily my favourite machine of yours as well.
It's truly impressive the amount of material that can be moved when the machine is matched to the job. You are spot on about the 850's. We are about to experience this in our drainage work replacing a dragline with excavators. It's going to take 3 long reach excavators to match even our small 1-1/2 yard dragline.
Great video and the "dozer ballet" at 17:00 was fantastic!! Loved your explanation of the theory of operation on the TD25...it's a working monster...CAT Killer indeed!
Great Video!!! You can really run a bulldozer!!! I watched your channel over Sunday night football!! Thank you for explaining how the controls work and also the history of the design. That old dozer is in really Nice shape!!! Yes I hit the LIKE BUTTON!!!
I worked for a guy that had all Allis Chalmers equipment, I watched an HD16 Series B work circles around a D7 Cat, in fact, they sent the D7 operator home, because he was just in the way!
Clint, thaks for the explaination - of the Pond work - just a quick comment - since you edit these - it would have been nice to have the "WHAT WE ARE BUILDING" - prior to the actual timelapse portion - to follow the actual progress - your HOW the tractor operates and walk around was perfect - here again - patching that before all your operating shots - would allow us to see and understand the actual movements as you operate. I really enjoy your channel.
Thank you so much 👍 ( Clint) for showing dirt moving by that BIG baby boy Go International all day 😊❤😊 a big thank you for showing controls how they move. What function do 😊❤😊 its so interesting that the JD put the Deceleration pedal on the opposite side of floor. I ran the Case 450-B back in 1979 On a big sewer mainline development 😊 The Two cases had the control levers for tracks both high/ low speeds. The case had a throttle pedal on floor.
That dozer is a BEAST, no computers, no BS. It's just pure power . Love it
@@videopyc I think it's a little bigger than a D8K
@@videopyc This machine has 320hp, weighs 72,000 a D8K is a 300hp tractor!!
If you have ever run one you will wonder where that 320 is at, and you'll wish you were in the seat of that 8!!
Well, it hasn´t even got a closed cab
What are you using right now an engine i suppose !

Congrats!
its always a pleasure to get information from someone that actually knows what they’re talking about..
If I ran something like that all day, my wife would wonder what I had been doing because I would have a big smile on my face that would never come off. Great video and machine.
I did exactly that in 1978. That smile didn't go away until I retired at 60 in 2015. I still miss being in the seat.
Goodness me that thing has some power! Way ahead of its time and a superb piece of engineering. Great video Clint, nice to see these old behemoths working hard for their living.🇬🇧
Good video, wish you good health
Clint did you ever try to start the other one with the international engine
That dresser is absolutely gorgeous and handsome! The straight lines have old school character representing reliability and dignity with the craftsmanship. Thanks for doing what you do guys!
My favorite parts are when you are talking. That is how I learn about the machines and what is good! Please don’t stop!!
"Sausage cam" That was funny!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for explaining the dozer, and how they work and how to operate. Also shout out that you owned your mistaken the leak. It happens.
I thought Clint was the Tool Master, but after watching this I know now he is the Obi Wan Kenobi of Dozers. Loved it.
He is an incredible operator 🤩👍🏻☝🏻
Client always good to see your dad, my dad is gone and sure do miss him.

They were designed from the start at IH to outperform the D-8 and the 2 spd steering was a proprietary feature I believe.
YES 😊 I think that is an excellent design feature. The two track steering control levers have a high and low speed. Wow, your youngest looks 100% times better with his hair cut . He looks like a marine.
Even though Grandpa was in back ground obvious this was not his first rodeo. Good job .
I ran a brand new one in 1985 and 1986 !!
They will move alot of dirt!!
My favorite part of your videos is the commentary including opinions on each machine and operation.
You look like your enjoying yourself with a little seat time . Great change of pace from the normal everyday work.
excellent video as usual Clint, keep them coming.
Yes, I'd guess Clinton had a darn good day chasing his Dad around the dam site!

The Dresser is one earth moving machine! 👍😎
I love that TD25. My brother used to operate one of them. He was a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years.
That one will get the job done, amazing power and traction. Your Dad did a real good job on the Dam too.
We purchased a new TD25G in 1988. Ran it for 10 years with no major issues. Would out push a D8 all day long. Loved the power steering feature!
If time allows!! A learning explanation is always appreciated 👍
Thanks for the narrative, it is great when you explain all the intricacies.
