@@brandonhastings-lh2ug I doubt it... Think it was an exercise to see if a 350 was justified before making a MASSIVE commitment. The 550 was a step too far.
You can even stack the stumps into Barney's bed much better now you're not fighting the machines lifting and grabbing power or toppling over due to the weight! Awesome addition Chris, I'm very happy for you! :D
Glad to see you finally got a rake! Once you get used to it, you'll never go back to clearing with a bucket. I've been clearing with a rake for years on a PC290, and it's the best investment I ever made. I also use it to dig stumps (even huge oak stumps) and you can get a stump out quicker and cleaner with a rake than you ever could with a bucket. Plus you can get all the near surface traveler roots out at the same time without disturbing so much soil. I bet you'll also find the rake is a better stumper than the "stumper" attachment you already have.
Man, that new attachment for the 350 is making easy work for you. It is so impressive for your work, once you really get used to it, you will really cut time in you burning piles & other jobs. Congrats, great move.
AMI makes quality attachments. Been around them a long time. Glad to see the new grapple, that will be a game changer for you. Nice addition to the fleet!
Congratulations Chris !! That beast will definitely make working the dirt off of those stumps easy & fun. I felt l8ke a kid in a candy store watching you throw those stumps around. lol I know you had to be smiling !! Great content, as usual.
Thats a great addition to the equipment....Works really well with the 350E....Very well engineered....Its just like you picking up a grape off a plate...no problem whats so ever...stay safe Chris and see you on the next one
again, WOW... look at you NOT tearing up grass as you pick up sticks and debris amazing!! That grapple is soo delicate!! niceeee It's like the Largest potato rake of all times, then add a thumb... OMG what a combo!
Took a closer look at the thumb and it still needs to move more out of the way , but as far as thumb width, possibly just add a tooth on either side would give it more control as far as controlled grabing power
Man Chris..it’s crazy how far you’ve come..in one camera frame there was a solid $1,000,000 in LD18 assets ! Between the three excavators, dozer , skid, fuel trailer and decked out f450 you’ve got the tools to tackle some serious projects. That grapple looks like a big-time clearing weapon !
He's got so much equipment now, scattered on so many sites, I'm sort of surprised he isn't trying to run a second full-time crew, or at least having a full time worker like Dirt Perfect. But Chris doesn't seem concerned. Clearly he isn't feeling the pressure to keep the notes paid.
To the 350 Volvo Excavator is this Grapter Rake a Perfect Supplement. The Excavator and this Grapter a Strength parcel, what the Work very pacilitation. By much Direction to Work. Congratulation to this Acquisition. 👌👍
That's one hell of a new bucket and a thumb is going to make your job a lot easier with all those heavy trees and stumps. Nice! Enjoy that video. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦🌳🌲
Chris well done sir on another fantastic purchase from AMI again. It’s amazing how they work with you on your needs for the equipment. That rack looks like it is well manufactured for the kinds of work that you intend to do with it. You have turned your love of what you have chosen to do for a living into a great business. And you have been very brand loyal too the companies that have helped you get to where your at presently. Again Thank You for bringing us along and allowing us to view you on your work adventures. The Volvo 350E along with the AMI grappler rack is one find piece of machinery.
Great Sawmill location if expanded, the storage of logs, sorting and accessibility needs more area, but also the plan for keeping trailers and hay storage there is justified, and that doubles reason to enlarge outward !
Always a good day when Chris posts a new video. Even better when he treats himself to a new toy. This is the equivalent of a 25 handicap golfer buying himself the new Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max Driver at the beginning of this season. (ask me how I know!)
It is a great new attachment, the only thing i would have asked for is to make like a bolt on cover to go over your grease fittings to keep the dirt out, but other than that that is very very nice.
When you were swinging from the truck to the stump pile, that new rake on that big machine looked like the most badass transformer any movie could come up with.
Congratulations on your purchase Chris! I can see that come in handy root raking a swampy area! On a little side story talking about making a taller burn pile some of the old timers would tell me they take a cable crane with a clam shell bucket and stack up burn piles.
One word “SWEET”, man that is an awesome attachment, congratulations, that is going to make life sooooo much easier. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching, appreciate the opportunity to share the grapple rake rakes first run with you.
Congrats on getting a new tool. This Graptor Rake will be a huge advantage over the bucket and thumb for doing brush work. You should consider getting armored hoses for it, so that you can use it for stacking the fires without worrying about the hoses melting.
have you considered gettign a woodcracker cutter head or shear head - they could save you a ton of chainsawing and the shear can chomp through 25 inches with no wear parts - can even shear roots / works in mud and dirt
That is the coolest attachment I've seen yet. Leave it to AMI & Chris to come up with a multi-purpose product built to last. I can sure see how that can speed up clearing jobs! Hopefully they will design different sizes so you can have one for the 220 as well. Congrats' Chris!
Chris , you might want to consider taking a trip to a good hardware store and getting an extension spring like they use on the old wooden screen doors for each of those hydraulic hoses . Would help to keep the hoses from getting snagged while they're flopping around .
With the bucket and thumb you sometimes have to put the stump down and pick it back up again. With this attachment you can load the truck in one swoop. Congratulations.
It's like Christmas today. Chris gets his new AMI attachment. And I got an up-close look at a brand new Takeuchi TL10 still in plastic wrap. Spotless and shiny and new-car smell. Purred like a kitten. Won't stay clean for long!
Chris, FYI, I think I hear metal on metal rubbing when you open the new attachment up. I could hear it when the camera was sitting outside the cab on the ground. I love that new grappler from AMI, that’s going to be a big time saver!
Just being able to grab on to something, and maneuver it around without losing grip is worth it. Will reduce accidentally dropping stuff. A very nice attachment for clearing and clean up. 👌
The new AMI Graptor Rake accents the true power of the new 350. The 220 struggles with picking up those stumps by the tree base and the 350 with the new rake picked the first stump (well over a 1000 Lbs) with one tooth of the thumb gripping it. This will be a game changer for you, especially when you get the finessh part of that rack down pat. Great tool.
Chris, finally a machine with plenty of thumb strength! It has to be such a pleasure to operate and own such a machine. Thanks for taking us along! J.R.
What a smooth operator. New attachment and quickly mastered it. Well done sir. Also, it’s impressive to watch a 350 rock because of the load it’s picking up.
Chris, I am glad you enjoy your new Graptor. We know now where this week's You Tube money went! I think it is well spent. If it only had rotation in it. Then we could watch you just pull the tree right out of the ground. No need for the stumping bucket! Have fun with the new toy!

he will buy 1 with billy/good jobs coming up, spend it or sam will take his share
barney’s bang on the money leave him be. if you want to shove a quarter mil of your own money thru the woods for brush & stumps be my guest
It's a good thing that the excavator isn't any larger or he'd need one of the specialized dump trucks they use in the strip mines for coal...😁😁
He will have one for his next big pond job I can almost guarantee it that 350 is to big for barney
Chris’ “learning curve” looks more like a strait line. Took about 20 minutes to figure that thing out! True experienced professional.👍🏻🇺🇸
