Muay Thai refs are the one of the bests refs ever in existence. They’ll protect your head and fall with you. They don’t care if they’re looking goofy or not, all they thinking about is your career up ahead and your health. Love them.

People wont understand how INSANE that is.. But ill try to give you an idea at least.
Imagine if you were asked to just stand still and brace, and then a trained fighter, one of the best in the world, would punch you 75 times, and kick you 20.
That ammount of strikes will likely land in a fight, regardless of having a guard.
Do you think you would last through all strikes?
Do you think youll be feeling good an hour later if you do?
...Now imagine doing it again, an hour later.. all that damage on top of the damage you alredy took... and then you do it all again an hour or two later..
And that only covers the damage you take, now imagine doing this while constantly expending a great deal of energy, making dessicions on how to move, how to defend, react to everything your opponent does, as well as knowing if you slip up, youre done... This is a mindboggling feat

At minute 50:44, the referee did a great job protecting the fighter from hitting his head on the floor. This is an important part of being a good Muay Thai referee because in Muay Thai, knockouts happen often. Our referees always make safety a top priority for the boxers.

All of that training actually rounds off and hardens the bone (ossification), and deadens the nerves. That is why accomplished Muay Thai fighters can strike with their shins without breaking bones or causing themselves injury. Fighters like Stamp, Buakaw, and Rodtang basically have baseball bats for legs.

They dont really sharpen their shins. They just get so many microfractures that when they reheal they heal uneveningly causing calcium ridges to appear. Contrary to popular belief this doesnt actually make your bones stronger. It just deadens your nerves so you can kick harder without it hurting yourself.

I don't think ppl are putting enough weight into the fact that in that first tourney he had to fight 3 fights in a one night... that's crazy. They don't do that anymore cause we all know that shit is crazy and not good for humans lol

Buakaw and Rodtang are top fighters. But my absolute favorite all time is Saenchai.

Buakaw is arguably the greatest Muay Thai fighter (other than maybe Saenchai). Rodtang is great, but Buakaw is the better fighter.
