  • This video shows me out working over a prepared background in a small concertina sketchbook to create studies about the edges and margins in the landscape. I then edit and modify the pages back in the studio.
    Please see previous video that shows the preparation of the background on this small concertina sketchbook.
    I will follow up in another video sharing the completed sketchbook. (and that maybe before the end of the year-please do subscribe so you don't miss it!!).

    If you subscribe to my newsletter then you will see more of my journey and new works as they are released.

    Thanks for sharing your process. In future videos please position the camera so that your arm and hand aren’t blocking most of the editing done with gesso and white acrylic paint. Your work is beautiful and intriguing; I don’t want to miss a thing.

      Thanks - this was a particular situation where I didn’t have space to have the camera on the other side - that’s different now because I can work in my studio and I couldn’t do that at the time of this video due to the pandemic .

      Thanks so much John!- at this time of year it’s good to keep it short as it’s a bit chilly- especially up high!

    I've been inspired with this idea. I've prepared mine the same way. Ready for tomorrow walk in the park. I'm interested in the edges of the different depth of the land. Thank you for generously share your process.

    Liz, thanks for sharing this, I really like your work. One question did you apply a fixative before going outside to keep the ink from running or bleeding?

    • @LizAckerley
      @LizAckerley  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bethan thanks for commenting. No I don’t apply a fixative for the ink. I am assuming you mean the inks I us to bore-prepare the concertina. Once they are dried on the paper they tend to stay put.

      @@LizAckerley Thank you Liz, yes that is what I was asking about. I made two concertinas for a driving trip to see my family, and will prepare them to take with.
