      @Ismael Hosking Isla it is, on 1440p. If you payed around 2k for a new computer and it’s getting 80-100 in 1080p then it’s bad. Of course, it depends on the game you’re playing, your settings, and how the game is optimized.

    • @dayulPH
      @dayulPH 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Ismael Hosking Isla 80-100fps is good. He's probably one of those who complain about not getting more than 144+fps on a 144hz monitor, regardless, getting well above 60 fps is fantastic for most users.

      60 hz is okay not bad if it doesn’t dip. 80 is just fine. The only time you can really see a performance dip is when the fps starts to fluctuate. I used to have 240 but now workin with a 1440 165hz and I can’t see a difference from my 240hz monitor.

      Hes probably also running max graphics settings or never changed them, as he seems like the type of guy who is clueless with specs and things like that, and is obviously a very casual gamer, he had trouble adjusting the rgb lights for goodness sake. So in reality if you went and overclocked the parts, and played on meduim or low settings, you would be getting like 2 times the performance he showed in the video.

    FINALLY!!!! A PC review that's easy to understand for people that don't know much about them. I'm primarily a console gamer, so when people talk about their specs, I don't even know where to look or what to think! People talk about their intel 500 C-3PO's or whatever and I feel hopelessly lost. Someday I might build my own PC, but I'd rather go prebuilt as a start. So, thanks for keeping it grounded and comprehensible for somebody who doesn't really know what to look for. It's especially difficult thanks to all the negativity you mentioned. It's like no matter what kind of hardware I get, someone's always gonna say "wow, that's trash. you're trash."
    TL:DR Thanks for keeping it simple and honest. I think I know where I'm gonna get my gaming PC from thanks in part to your review :)

    • @fisherthegoat
      @fisherthegoat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's unfortunate that you feel/felt that way. PC's as a hobby were a relatively niche thing up until probably 2017 or 2018, where more celebrities began getting gaming rigs. It especially blew up in 2020, where during the pandemic where a lot of people, due to being stuck in the house, started looking at gaming PCs to pass the time. As with a lot of niche interests, especially ones that incorporate technical knowledge, there are a lot of gatekeepers and know-it-alls within the community. They see all of these new people entering the hobby, and feel like they need to flex their knowledge, or belittle them with it. I don't know if you are unsure about getting into PCs as a hobby, or if you were ever interested at all in it, but it can really be a very interesting and engaging hobby to take up. I'd recommend looking at Linus Tech Tips if you're ever curious about PCs as more than just something to play PC games. He usually explains complex concepts and parts in a digestible manner for newer people, but does also dive deeper to keep the interest of more seasoned PC enthusiasts.
      As an aside, things like CPUs or graphics cards follow a similar naming system. The first one or two numbers in the sequence being the generation, or series of the part, and the following numbers being where it ranks in the series. Sort of like the make, model, and trim of a car. Generally, the higher the subsequent numbers, the more powerful the part. (For example, an RTX 3080 is more powerful than an RTX 3070. 30 being the series, 80/70 being the card model) I know your comment is a couple months old, so you may very well know this by now, but I thought I'd try at clearing it up for you.
      But really PCs and PC building as a hobby is quite rewarding, and can offer you a wealth of experience in other topics depending on how deep you get into it.

    I have always built my own PC but this just isnt feasible right now with parts shortages so I pulled the trigger on a build from Build Redux. For $75 for the build and warranty you cannot beat it. The cost of individual parts are all at or below MSRP (GPU I bought with system is a RTX 3080ti and is about $100 above MSRP but good luck paying even that for one) so to me it was a no brainer.
    EDIT for anyone interested in current wait time:
    I ordered mine on November 19, 2021 and PC is on its way and scheduled to be here on December 9, 2021 to give anyone an idea of wait time currently.

Secondarily the lights seem to be RGB, if you wanted you could replace them with argb lights which gives lights multiple zones. Right now they have one color that's changeable this would allow multiple colors per unit which looks a lot better. Your board would need to have a 5 volt 3 pin argb connector to be controlled by motherboard but remote to a hub or running them to reset button would still work. I recommend a black 360mm asiahorse matrix for front.

    People talking about the AIO having the tubing at the top instead of the bottom don't understand what Nerd Jesus talked about with orientation. It's fine so long as the motor is below the highest point in the system.
    One pointer for people who have AIO for the CPU and none for the GPU, a way you can lower the temps for the hardware is to move the AIO to the top for exhaust. This will help keep air in the case lower, helping the air cooled GPUs stay cooler which is more greatly affected by temps than the CPU performance.

    • @86drive86
      @86drive86  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you for mentioning that, yes I've referred a few people to JayzTwoCents's video where he clarifies this too. People are immediately critical when they see the tubing runs to the top, ignoring the fact that Steve and Jay both said it's fine.

    • @John_the_baptized

      @@86drive86 Wanted to come back and report, I routed my AIO to the top and I have better temps for the GPU (Apex Legends gave about 8°C lower on average) and still great numbers for the CPU (about 5°C higher). I definitely recommend relocating it. You’ll need more screws for the front case fans because the supplied ones don’t work.

      yes, this is a good point! The Build Redux PC is built on the same kind of case and parts that you'd build your own PC on. Hey man you got a great PC. Anyone with negative feedback about cable management or pricing is a donut. I got a PC from them and I took the time to spec it out if I built it myself and it came out to he exactly just the $75 build fee. I will say there lower end systems could be budgeted better as far as where they put the money. Like you don't need an aio for an i3. Type of thing. Do you drive a Toyota 86?

    • @86drive86
      @86drive86  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I've heard from others that the better value is from the higher end systems, where the $75 build fee becomes a smaller % of your overall cost. I went for the best tier and I think I got a pretty good value for what I paid. Coming from the Mac world, I would have paid more for a "lower-spec'd" iMac. And yeah I drive a Subaru BRZ, the twin to the 86. Check out some of my other videos on the channel for more driving and sports cars content...

      I haven't noticed the case fans being all that loud. The GPU fans come on to cool the GPU when you're gaming or using more power. You might be able to adjust the fan curves using software to reduce their speed or trigger points, but that isn't something I have messed around with.

    • @86drive86

      No, normally you would pay the entire cost up front when you order the PC. The $75 build fee is just what BR advertises as the service charge to assemble your PC, on top of all the parts cost of whatever system you spec out. If you decide to finance your purchase and make monthly payments, then that is a separate deal; I don't have any experience with financing the PC purchase so I can't tell you how that works.

    I bought an abs challenger for 1,199 with a 2060 and i7 10f. But for the redux PC I think you did overspend a little bit. A 3070 MSRP is 499. You shouldn't expect MSRP but it's good. 50 dollars above is the limit. I bet redux stated the price of it at 560 or 600. And that's true it was that expensive. But I wouldn't take that. Overall I don't know how much it cost you so I can't say much. But all I can say is always check the specs on PC part picker. never settle on what they say is the price, that's how you get ripped off.

    • @86drive86
      @86drive86  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for chiming in! As I said in the video, Build Redux was charging $519 for the 3070 when i ordered my PC. And at the time that I ordered, that seemed like a reasonable price to get a PC with those components when they were not available from other suppliers. But they did raise the price significantly by the time I made this video and seems like it is still quite high now. I just looked now and they price it at $719 at the moment.

    • @-kl90u-d64
      @-kl90u-d64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@86drive86 yeah that tends to happen with these prebuilt companies, they see prices go up, they make it more expensive. even though they got their cards at MSRP or lower. but I'm glad you got it at a fair price. 519 is really good, especially in the middle of the graphics card apocalypse. Hope the computer holds up. 👍
