I kind of don't like the idea that a machine using superhero DNA can just give anyone the abilities of any hero. As presented with no limit (how many skills and how many skills get) just using a machine and no other factors? And why didn't other scrolls come up with this, after all, Earth isn't the only planet with people with special abilities that are worth "absorbing"? So are there other "super scrolls" out there, as if only one has the idea to try that if your species has those abilities.
There's a difference between "not having a happy ending" and having an ending that resolves nothing, leaves everyone in a worse situation and raises 10x more questions than the show ever raised.
Yep. And to me the crazy thing is that ONLY when Ritson names any alien an enemy is when THE SECRET INVASION REALLY BEGINS. @@BuckyBarnesNCWe see him with them for days on end, that doesn't mean he kept them, he might have had to recharge them and they just didn't show it (like so much).
THE problem w/ how they went about the Skrulls getting powers is that it was TOO easy. The 'fact' anyone can be ANY superhero w/ a vial of DNA completely wipes out anything special about any of the superheroes. Quoting the Incredibles, "If everyone is special then no one is". They even double downed and wanted us to believe that all the DNA is in a small vial, no need to separate it, no need to analyze it, just put it in the slot that says 'insert here' and voila! And don't get me started on how they instantly knew how to use the powers... Completely ridiculous. Do we not know AI wrote this script?
"completely wipes out anything special about any of the superheroes" YES, the superheroes AREN'T special, ALL of them are right place at the right time. What made them special was who they were as a person and how they think. This isn't even the first time, you can see this as far back as The Incredible Hulk with Blonski, nothing made Hulk special except just being the right person at the right time. We don't know what the Harvest physically exists either, we don't know HOW the DNA is contained in the vial, but I would think that a Comic Book TV show isn't going to go down into the nitty-gritty semantics of how a machine works in the way it does. We're not getting deep dive schematics of how the SHIELD helicarrier functions, or how Spider-Man's webfluids can stick to building and fling around a grown man but somehow not solidify in the webshooters or how it naturally occurs in their body if you're THAT spiderman This just seems like trying to come up with things for the sake or arguments, a lot of CBM stuff is a suspension of disbelief
@@balakehb a good story requires stakes you can empathize with. Stakes are defined by the rules of the story. When you have no rules, there are no stakes. Wonder why Secret Invasion is historically & almost universally derided? 🤔 (That’s rhetorical if you didn’t get it) Also, I HATE every other tech based character uses “nanotech”. Sure, I can get with Stark inventing & utilizing it in coordination with his arc technology, but now every Tom, dick & Harry also has it? Never mind it’s strong enough to take on any damage, realistic or magical, but it also can generate unlimited massive energy w/o a fuel source… might as well have a six shooter with unlimited bullets. Marvel might as well live in the Lord of the Rings reality because even their tech heroes use magic now apparently 🤷🏻♂️
I wish people would stop referring to this as a "spy thriller". There were no twist and turns at all. Stretching with the Rings and tattoos being a part of DNA.
Yes, something being permanent on the skin doesn't make it part of your DNA. By that logic if someone had hip replacement surgery they would be have a metal hip imbedded in their DNA.
I agree it is a stretch based on our tattoos, but what if Drax's tattoos were 'grown'. He has an injection an visualises what he wants and that's what he gets. Thus the tattoos could be linked to his DNA (I am stretching more than Reed Richards for that one though).
The tragic irony is: They added a lot of fluff, but the fluff didn't flesh anything out. It could've been a movie instead of a show, but it wasn't. It could've been Avengers: Secret Invasion, giving us a team up before 2 cosmos shaking events.
I get what Ryan is saying on the first point but it doesn’t make sense. Cells aren’t dead the moment they disconnect from the central nervous system. It still just seems like a plot hole for convenience.
also just said everyone was given iodine for god knows how long while they were kept prisoners for the memories, isn't that like living in Chernobyl and taking a few tablets? some of these points are just theories which in turn doesn't help us at all
I feel like Rhodey being taken right after civil war is a bit of a lazy stretch. Rhodey had his leg supports with him during endgame and also couldn't walk after ditching his suit after Thanos' attack. If anything Rhodey could've been taken during some other scheduled scan or checkup taking place after endgame too.
So what I'm gathered from this video is that majority of the plot points can be answered in three ways: "because they're aliens", "because it's future tech" and "because Nick Fury just doesn't want to"
I dunno, man: at 1:54 the blood running down that finger looks EXACTLY as purple as the blood on the top of the finger and it looked that way in the episode, too.
It should be on the writers to do a little homework and figure it out. I personally think also the directors and producers love the smell of their own farts and do not care
@@mrboogedy7682 I don't think it's the writers' fault really. A lot of them are brought in late and most of their work is to create the specific dialogue. They're not the ones coming up with the major plot points. That's already been decided on. Even the directors are mainly hired hands. I agree that there is a lot of fart smell loving and not caring, but that is occurring at a much higher level.
"Can't keep depending on super heroes to save our asses" ok so the director is kinda mad about how harsh we're being on the show but seriously? They actually thought that line makes sense? That's literally what superheroes do for a living buddy, they save the earth and the people on it. I'm not a writer but I feel there could have been a better way to explain why the heros aren't helping. Fury wouldn't and didn't say that during the battle of new York and that was also an alien invasion, the only difference is the giant space worms and they brought their own guns and bomb from the get go.
"You don't know they didn't have any protection, you're just assuming that." And you're just assuming they did. There's no obvious visual clue that the human captives are protected from radiation in any way. I think that deserves an explanation of some sort in the show given they made a very clear point about skrulls being unaffected by radiation (which itself a gloss-over non-explanation--like, how are they immune to radiation?). Your theory on why they kept them alive may seem to explain why the captives do not appear to be affected by the surrounding radiation, but it doesn't actually provide a provable explanation. You assume they're keeping them alive for some reason, therefore it's in their interest to keep them radiation-free. But given how little they care about humanity and humans, do they really care if the humans are healthy versus a cancerous mess? As a bonus question: given some of these people have been captives for years, how are they not dead, or at least horrifically atrophied? Do they take their captives out for regular walks like a pet? lol
Actually, Ritson's gun demand is understandable to me. When he learned that Rhodey was a Skrull, he panicked and thought the guy next to him might be a one of them as well. So he immediately wanted his gun to protect himself from him
But at the time he demanded the gun, Ritson wasn’t yet aware that Rhodey was a Skrull. Hence the scene that came after with Fury, Skrull-Rhodey and Ritson trying to decide who the imposter is.
Maybe I give them too much credit but I still think you can explain the "give me the gun" scene by saying he's surrounded by shapeshifters and doesn't know who to trust. I could imagine he might feel a bit more comfortable feeling like he can defend himself potentially if it turns out Fury, or the secret service, or Rhodey turn out to be skrulls, or that whichever one is a skrull kills the human protecting him. He feels he can only trust himself, so he wants the gun in his hand.
I really think marvel needs to find someway to maintain secrecy across project bc it’s becoming obvious that a connected story needs connected productions
So all we have to show for Secret Invasion is a OP character G'iah who nobody cares about and Maria Hill who people did like and wanted to learn more about now dead for no real reason. Well done Marvel.
Rhodey wasnt a Skrull since Civil War. Director didnt confirm it, he said he "believes" which doesnt mean he actually was replaced since Civil War. Rhodey was a Skrull since after Endgame OR after Falcon Winter Soldier
Hate to be that person, but POTUS wouldn't be the only head of state who is 'constantly watched' or draw suspicion for random trips to Russia. They had taken form of British PM and head of NATO without raising suspicion.
Screencrush is at a point where it wants its cake and eat it too. They bash a show for not making a lot of sense, then come up with "content" to tell you why it all makes sense. Gaslighting at its worst. For instance, iodine pills are not going to keep humans from getting radiation poisoning. It /may/ help them from developing complications by keeping the radioactive particles from interacting with the thyroid gland. But being too close to an exposed reactor/very radioactive facility would mean nothing to your thyroid when your flesh is literally turning red and burning up from rad poisoning. Bash Hollywood for being all same-y and about chasing trends and caring only about the bottom line. And then do the same themselves. "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"
Same. I had a thought that maybe he was going in for a surgery to help him( post endgame) and that's when they snagged him. Would make Tony's death and thier moments still authentic than him being skrullizized
Speaking of Eternals, I find it interesting that everyone brings up Tiamat but no one talks about all those people that saw Arishem kidnap the Eternals at the end lol
I recently read an article explaining how copium is so addictive and how it takes over the human mind, and they referenced this exact video even though you hadn't made it yet. They just knew.
I love how the bad guy grow EbonyMaws arm and could use telekinesis all of a sudden. Like it came from the arm, and not like a skill that needs allot of training.

It's all a part of their plan ,they are playing the long game 🤞n the possibilities are endless
How about Maria Hill's and Talos' deaths? They just died and Fury just doesn't give a single fuck? How about Fury's car and gadgets and AI helping him? Why didn't Rhodey suit up? What are all those pods at the end? All of what you said makes sense, but why was it not on the show?
@@BaithNa "How did they recover the DNA of the villains that were dusted?" - And know which DNA was for which villain even if we pretend they could? What's silly is, it'd make a better story if Fury was collecting the Harvest for years _before_ End Game becausee it would show he was already ahead of it. He had plenty of access already to Caps, Bucky's, Hulk's, and likely Thor's (and Loki's) DNA well before End Game.
I know the director 'said' that Rhodey was replaced earlier than Endgame, but why wouldn't it make sense that it was after Endgame? That's when the Harvest happened. Rhodey could have been hospitalized (and likely would have) after the action in Endgame, and THAT would be when they grabbed him.
Where was it confirmed that Rhodey was changed to a skrull after Civil War? Just because he’s in a hospital gown? He could have gone back in for a check up or possible leg surgery AFTER getting banged up in endgame and then SWAP, now he’s a skrull! Did some MCU official SAY civil war was when he was swapped? Or are you just going with your own assumptions?

The real plot hole is Ryan continuing to be sooo excited about future MCU projects when the current evidence suggests a string of disappointments is on the way...
I did not even think that the plot of the show could have been effected by the war currently going on. I wonder now how much was changed from the original plot line.
Wasn’t it a plot point of She-Hulk that it was nigh impossible to get blood from The Hulk? And I hate that they didn’t give the super skrulls a weakness. It’s like, why would anyone need other heroes when they have an all-in-one package deal?
Thank you for explaining the red blood thing it's so annoying seeing people say rhody can't be a slrull because he bled red when every skrull bled red in human form
Your first answer makes no sense, Olivia Coleman shot the Skrull MI:6 Director in the leg and the blood was purple and he was still alive. Also, as gross as it is, the blood sprayed out on the headshot was purple and that Skrull was still alive at that point. They didn't "instantly" die, the blood sprayed first and the Skrull died milliseconds later.
If Gaia dies n then used her healing powers or her body did it automatically y didn’t Gravik? He had more time to practice his powers so he should have a better grip on them?
Gaia was also only shot with a bullet, not blasted through the chest by a space laser, which was proven to stop extremis from working in Iron Man 3 when Tony uses his unibeam to blast a hole through the bald guy's chest and he doesn't come back.
Gaia snuck extremis, so assuming she was powerless Gravik shot her which should have killed her to his knowledge. All she had to do was play dead while the extremis healed her and Gravik left.
1:41 I figured the Skrulls kinda worked like cephalopods (squid & octopus), which requires them to be alive to hold any transformation. If you kill the cephalopod, the transformations stop being held, and the animal returns to its default state or starts randomly transforming like a muscle twitching.
I think Skrull Rhodey was put there by Fury. A way to keep his eye on everything and Tony Stark as well. He trusted Steve Rogers & Black Widow to do the right thing, but he didn't trust TS to do the right thing, that's why he wasn't at all surprised by the 'reveal' and was upset when he was 'fired' because this was a Skrull he trusted and he realised that this Skrull had turned. I wonder if this Skrull was related to Fury's wife and that he realised that his staunchest allies were now against him hence why he was so upset after that exchange.
Better reasoning for the Skrulls not getting a new home....If Fury and Danvors thought there was only a few hundred Skrulls, even if they got a new home, how would they be able to protect it and themselves?? They could find the planet and then if any other alien species found them, they'd end up in another war, get overrun and end up right back on Earth working for Fury
I think what @Mr.LegendDude was trying to say about the heroes’ dna from the battle of earth being contaminated is how was fury able to distinguish the dna from each person( as it obvious the only way to get the heroes dna was from their blood, which would be all over the battlefield and probably mixed together and thus being contaminated/deadly to consume
My biggest wtf was why there were so many duplicated and therefore redundant powers? Like you have the Hulk, Thanos, and Carol Danvers; what more strong tough person abilities can you get by adding Winter Soldier, Captain America, and Cull Obsidian? They didn’t seem cumulative
@@davidmun1601 but why are they cycling through them instead of just going “Thanos strength. Captain Marvel powers. Go!” Instead it looks like they had to cycle through the IP. Fury having all of the DNA in a single vial of hero goo is a weird choice too, like making a Long Island Iced Tea of hero spooge
@@deanthemachine8879 That's a great question. My take is that Fury had no idea what he was getting when he got those samples. To compound the problems, he did not know what to do with them once he got them. Then, he took off to start SABER (or SWORD).
Also we could argue Fury ordered the harvest because he wanted the DNA of whoever was there despite of their habilities, he was probably like: "go and colect all of them", which means that although they have T'Challa's dna, that is the only thing they have: DNA, with no powers or special habilities attached to it, since Black Panther's powers are bestowed upon them from an entity and that might be an explation for other heroes in that narrative as well. The harvest was to collect DNA, not powers per se.
I really appreciate how much water you are trying to carry, but some of these "explanations" are pretty bad and if those explanations are correct, shame on Marvel for not explaining them in tthe show. This video would have been so much more accurate if you and Doug just alternated with "Because it was in the Script! Next!"
Seriously though. It's the only way Disney will learn and stop putting crap like this out. They're relying on theorists to fill in and explain everything they're too lazy to actually include in their properties
And this ladies and gentlemen is the kind of mental gymnastics MCU stans and shills go thru just to justify poor writing and defend a property that’s dead in the water, not gonna lie this is hilarious and entertaining to watch 🤣
Ok Ryan. If Groot's ( and Cull Obsidian ) DNA was collected only at the Battle of the Earth field, how since the episode 2 they were using their DNA in the machine ? And what would be the point of getting Extremis DNA ( BTW that was not how the Extremis tech worked in IM3) if the goal was just get the Avengers superpowers ?
extremis in IM3 has a healing/regeneration ability not just heat and strength. They literally showed a bunch of scenes where they were regrowing limbs and shit in im3. lol
Here’s my question: I know DODC had Cull Obsidian’s severed hand from Infinity War and the Cull Obsidian from Endgame was a past version of himself, but when he dusted, wouldn’t the hand as well since it is still technically part of him?
How about we just all agree the Secret Invasion showrunner didn't know his ass from his hairline about when Rhodey was replaced. It's better canon if he's replaced after Endgame. If Martin Freeman was replaced after Wakanda Forever, that's still a significant time-gap that would explain his confusion.
I am surprised I haven’t seen this mentioned. I thought the reason fury didn’t want to bring in the avengers wasn’t bc he didn’t want them to find out about the harvest as stated in thr video but he didn’t want the skrulls to have access to the avengers and possibly access to their blood. Yes they could shape shift into captain America or captain marvel but they wouldn’t have access to their powers which is ultimately what they wanted, hence why fury didn’t want to call them in, and possibly lead to a fight and the skrulls ability to still their dna
Hey man, I remember watching your Black Widow breakdown video and commenting that you overlooked the MCU's first "mutant" appearance. Ursa Major is in the prison arm-wrestling with Red Guardian. As far as I am aware, that was the first mutant appearance/reference post-Disney acquiring the Fox property.
he didnt use his powers at all and plently of "mutants" in the comics were in Falcan and the winter soldier during majipoor scenes but didnt use any powers eithers so they're not a mutant til the MCU shows them as one.
@@teovu5557 How many mutants from the comics can you specifically identify by name from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier though? Madripoor isn't a place that's exclusively populated by mutants in the comics or anything . . . In Black Widow, Red Guardian makes an unmistakable reference to Ursa Major when he says both "You calling me a liar, Ursa?" and also "Ohh, look at the big bear" after breaking his wrist. Those 2 lines provide a much stronger implication of the first identifiable mutant appearance in the MCU than The Falcon and Winter Soldier simply having had a few scenes in Madripoor. I stand by my statement.
@@rapstallion6615 when did I say madripoor was a mutant island? lmao And Shelby is a mutant in the comics but showed no powers in the show. And in Black Widow when he called him a Big Bear kuz of his name Ursa Major which is a constellation of stars which means in Latin greater (or Big) bear. And his Russian name Mikhail Uriokovitch Ursus(Of the Bear)(rather then him being an out right Mutant). If he was an actual mutant wouldnt he transform rather then get wrecked n embarrassed by The Red Guardian after getting his arm snapped like a twig? Or used his form to escape too? Like I said theyre not mutants til they show them as such. Just like Kamala Khan was an Inhuman in the comics and they made her a confirmed Mutant in the MCU by all but out right stating it. You welcome
Lol I love a ton of your ideas. I was hoping this show would be a set up for a dark and deeper Invasion movie. You kind of pointed that out. I hope they do it right.
By that logic Mr. Harrington, Peter's teacher, could have been mistaken about his wife. If the skrulls replaced some dusted humans, maybe she really did dust instead of lying about it like he says in his story. Imagine that was true and the real one comes back after 5 years to learn someone has been impersonating her and ruined her marriage.
The reason why Rhodey was crawling in endgame was not spywork. The concept was created later on and that spywork thing is a lame excuse for altering a character. To me that is still Rhodey not a skrull as they have ruined him now.
I SLIGHTLY prefer new rock stars...but now that MT is gone and they post pretty much 85% less than they did, this is almost a tie for my top channel. 👍
Umm, if it's like flexing a muscle, the blood wouldn't be able to maintain it's form outside the body regardless of whether the Skrull is dead and the finger reverts not because it is dead but because it's no longer being "flexed" (it also takes longer than that for flesh to die, which is why amputated fingers can be reattached if certain steps are taken). Even having some kind of psychic connection/control of every cell doesn't quite explain the inconsistency, as the blood on the amputated finger should all be red since the blood cells wouldn't die until sometime after the blood dried. Also, iodine/iodide tablets are not a long term solution for constant radiation poisoning--for one because it only affects absorption of radioactive iodine by the thyroid and nothing else, and that's not even getting into the side effects of that much potassium iodide/iodine.
2:18 Just to add to it, nobody said that Talos was the only Skrull that Fury knew or that there aren’t no other “good” Skrulls left, called by G’iah ✌️
Maybe this question deserves a full episode, or maybe you can address it in a side note in an upcoming video, WHY is it that shows like Stargate SG-1 with tons of special effects can crank out over 20 great quality shows that are over 40 minutes each on a fraction of the budget of Marvel shows that take just as long to produce, some are not that long, and they do less than 10 episodes with even worse graphics with better technology than they had back when Stargate SG-1 was being made? Where is all the money and time going? Why are the special effects worse and not better with more money and better technology?
My issue is with Rhodey being a Skrull for so long. When he talks to Nebula waiting for Peter during the time heist, he implies he understands he feelings about being broken and rebuilt. A Skrull wouldn't know to say that.
This video is waaaay more entertaining if you listen to every word with a sarcastic tone. Great job on the video though, you really put the work and thought in to come up with explanations!
The Secret invasion finale was the worst of any finale of an super hero series in history. It’s failure was heightened by she hulks finale. This should of came first
13:07 I’m getting the feeling the higher up Skrulls no longer cared for their own planet to inhabit. They wanted vengeance and to mold Earth to their will after living in our shadows
‘Gimme your gun gawdammit’ is going to go down as one of those hilarious pointless flunks even more now that Ryan keeps pointing it out! 😂😂😂 it was awful 😂
Imho there is NO WAY Rhodey was replaced before end game. They wouldn't have a real reason and the risk is too great, anyone between Rhodeys rank and the president would be a better choice. And easier. He could have been in the hospital for a check up or surgery or a number of reasons. Just because he's in a hospital gown doesn't mean it was that specific moment from civil war when he was taken.
They should have it be that it takes such a toll on the skrulls bodies to have that many powers that it reduces their lifespan or something. This way they can kill off Gaia who is way too strong and limit the powers to 4 so it opens the door for the super skrull with the fantastic four’s powers
I like ScreenCrush, but Ryan is bending over backward to defend the downward spiral of the MCU. Fans brought up legitimate criticisms, and he just brushed them off with ridiculous responses. For example, the massive Celestial protruding from the Indian Ocean. Ryan said, "it will likely be addressed later," and "the MCU silos their projects," and "I'm tired of hearing about the Celestial, not a plot hole," and then he points to a barely noticeable scene in Externals that hinted "people believe it is a statue." Ryan made excuses for Secret Invasion until the bitter end, when it was too hard to defend anymore. 'Shill' is a charged word, but we've got a lot to learn from Ryan's simping.
Pitch Meeting brought up that Ghost couldn't control her powers and also wasn't in End Game. They also pointed out that magic is supposed to be a learned skill, not something in your DNA.
Someone explain it to me, lol. How is Gravik dead? He got blasted through the chest but wouldn't he be able to just use the extremist power to heal? I mean, he took the ice spear in the chest and was fine. Are we to assume that it was just a large enough hole to hit the heart which maybe can't regenerate? I would have liked to see her blast him in half or something that we more permanent. I thought the scene was weak.
What happens when they create many over-powered characters in ever increasingly world-ending events and these op characters finally meet? Will it be an epic endgame battle or like that fizzled multiverse of madness flick of a fight from an oil-covered Wanda? What’s the endgame for all these world-ending events? How are we suppose to keep our interest/belief in the seriousness? Thanks for all the work y’all do! Thanks for supporting the strike!

@8:00 that's how you introduce SKRULL KILL KREW, The humans that gained powers from the scrolls that turned into cows that were turned into hamburger. Real story real comic book very 1990s could have tied this in
I have a simple question, was rohdy replaced AFTER his paralysis injury? Or before? Is real rohdy paralyzed or was he taken before that happened? Also imagine poor rohdy finding out that his best friend died : (
After. You can tell cause the real Rhodey wasn't able to walk out of the compound but had to be carried out. Also the hospital gown he was wearing was a dead giveaway when he got replaced.
The super skrull powers arent all powers all the time, they need to call specific powers and concentrate on them like they do with shape shifting. Thats why Giah was able to kill Gravik at all, otherwise they would have been in stalemate. So she isnt connected to the powers that govern carols powers all the time, only when using them, and even then its not clear whether the powers are generated from her or some sort of connection or conduit to the energy of the tesseract.

That alien tech = magic pretty much explains most other things. That's obvious too. Did you really need technobabble exposition to explain that?
😊
It's entirely possible that superpowers given by the Skrull machine simply do not last and fade with time.
It could explain why they had to constantly switch powers
It entirely possible that we're watching bestiality - Fury is married to a different animal species, alien or not. At least a dolphin is slightly DNA related but its still gross it we saw a guy sucking the face off one on Disney TV
@@YourBeingParanoidyeah, but then you have to include Peter Quill in that category.
@@BuckyBarnesNCWe see him with them for days on end, that doesn't mean he kept them, he might have had to recharge them and they just didn't show it (like so much).
That would be a lazy solution and nevertheless so smart.
The fact that it's so poorly written is proof that an A.I. didn't write it.
A.I. writing too logical for this show.
100%
@@BaithNa Have you not read anything written by AI????
"completely wipes out anything special about any of the superheroes" YES, the superheroes AREN'T special, ALL of them are right place at the right time. What made them special was who they were as a person and how they think.
This isn't even the first time, you can see this as far back as The Incredible Hulk with Blonski, nothing made Hulk special except just being the right person at the right time.
We don't know what the Harvest physically exists either, we don't know HOW the DNA is contained in the vial, but I would think that a Comic Book TV show isn't going to go down into the nitty-gritty semantics of how a machine works in the way it does. We're not getting deep dive schematics of how the SHIELD helicarrier functions, or how Spider-Man's webfluids can stick to building and fling around a grown man but somehow not solidify in the webshooters or how it naturally occurs in their body if you're THAT spiderman
This just seems like trying to come up with things for the sake or arguments, a lot of CBM stuff is a suspension of disbelief

Wonder why Secret Invasion is historically & almost universally derided? 🤔
(That’s rhetorical if you didn’t get it)
Also, I HATE every other tech based character uses “nanotech”.
Thus the tattoos could be linked to his DNA
(I am stretching more than Reed Richards for that one though).
How can you make a connected universe without letting the creators know the connections? Like when was Feige going to tell them?
So he immediately wanted his gun to protect himself from him
22:41
I never get tired of hearing it. I'm glad it's a recurring gag on ScreenCrush's channel
But at the time he demanded the gun, Ritson wasn’t yet aware that Rhodey was a Skrull. Hence the scene that came after with Fury, Skrull-Rhodey and Ritson trying to decide who the imposter is.
I'm sorry, but why is Ritson taking the gun seen as such a dumb decision?
Maybe I give them too much credit but I still think you can explain the "give me the gun" scene by saying he's surrounded by shapeshifters and doesn't know who to trust. I could imagine he might feel a bit more comfortable feeling like he can defend himself potentially if it turns out Fury, or the secret service, or Rhodey turn out to be skrulls, or that whichever one is a skrull kills the human protecting him. He feels he can only trust himself, so he wants the gun in his hand.
I agree. People react differently. Maybe the gun gives him some sense of control
TH-cam “The MCU can’t be fixed”

Rhodey wasnt a Skrull since Civil War. Director didnt confirm it, he said he "believes" which doesnt mean he actually was replaced since Civil War. Rhodey was a Skrull since after Endgame OR after Falcon Winter Soldier
Nice copium dude 😂
How does spiderman’s spidey sense not go off when he was around War Machine after civil war?
"Gaslighting at its worst"
I guess you don't follow politics. This show and people's opinions on it are literally irrelevant.
I firmly believe that Rhodey wasn't replaced by a skrull until *after* Endgame, but before Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Yea, everyone is automatically assuming that he was switched in civil war because of the hospital gown when we cant really say when he was replaced.
Same. I had a thought that maybe he was going in for a surgery to help him( post endgame) and that's when they snagged him. Would make Tony's death and thier moments still authentic than him being skrullizized
Yes! If not, they devalue the moment between Rhodey & Tony before he died. The look on Rhodey's face... I'd hate for that to be a Skrull.

Speaking of Eternals, I find it interesting that everyone brings up Tiamat but no one talks about all those people that saw Arishem kidnap the Eternals at the end lol
Also, based on the timeline. London gets destroyed in The Eternals and Spiderman Far From Home very close together.

I'm hung up on a few things, none more than, "Everyone shed some blood that day, even Carol Danvers." Did she? How? When?
And how did they recover it from the dirt?
How did they recover the DNA of the villains that were dusted?
None of it makes any sense 😂
G'iah might be referenced in The Marvels but given Secret Invasion's poor reception it might be best to exclude her from the film.
I think Retson asked for the gun because of his rising paranoia which eventually led to him demanding that all aliens be killed on the planet.
I need a Pitch Meeting for this video: let's make a video trying to make sense of Secret Invasion.
-Yeah sure, merely an inconvenience. Just put as many arguments as fast as possible until the audience loses sense of reality.

The real plot hole is Ryan continuing to be sooo excited about future MCU projects when the current evidence suggests a string of disappointments is on the way...
I did not even think that the plot of the show could have been effected by the war currently going on. I wonder now how much was changed from the original plot line.
The tone of this was perfect!
Loved these explanations
Disney and this guy choose to ignore it
Not just that why does he think gia has only extremis when she gets in the machine
The same reason why the other people with extremis died while one like a aldridge killian took so much more to put down
1:41 I figured the Skrulls kinda worked like cephalopods (squid & octopus), which requires them to be alive to hold any transformation. If you kill the cephalopod, the transformations stop being held, and the animal returns to its default state or starts randomly transforming like a muscle twitching.
Ryan before this video: points out the same plot holes in previous videos
Ryan in this video: These are not plot holes
DNA doesn't mix just because fluid mixes.
My answer would be that Fury just collected the samples. He had no way of knowing whose power would be the strongest or be most useful
7:25 Mr.LegendDude being the real mvp and asking the question I've been screaming about for weeks, thanks dude!!!!!
I really appreciate how much water you are trying to carry, but some of these "explanations" are pretty bad and if those explanations are correct, shame on Marvel for not explaining them in tthe show. This video would have been so much more accurate if you and Doug just alternated with "Because it was in the Script! Next!"
When the Hulk snapped everyone back and re-did the blip. Shouldn't he have known that there was scrulls? He was snapping back in the on earth
May have to just stop analyzing these poorly conceived and executed disasters.
They literally showed a bunch of scenes where they were regrowing limbs and shit in im3. lol
glad to see you back in the algorithm!
Here’s my question: I know DODC had Cull Obsidian’s severed hand from Infinity War and the Cull Obsidian from Endgame was a past version of himself, but when he dusted, wouldn’t the hand as well since it is still technically part of him?
No because it's cut off of him. People with organ transplants from people that were dusted weren't all of a sudden missing the organ.
I really look for a new SC video every day. The SC and NR team are really my mcu TH-cam life blood!
@@rapstallion6615 when did I say madripoor was a mutant island? lmao
And Shelby is a mutant in the comics but showed no powers in the show.
Exactly, embracing the madness
Oo ryan. Doing the corporate overlord work for them. They didn’t think of any of this.
I never thought Drax had tattoos. I always thought it was just a pattern from his race
Thanks for all the info & breakdown. Like the merch, it's cute
Now that giaya has the power of captain marvel can't she search for a planet now
The reason why Rhodey was crawling in endgame was not spywork. The concept was created later on and that spywork thing is a lame excuse for altering a character. To me that is still Rhodey not a skrull as they have ruined him now.
Ryan must be a Skrull to keep a straight face this entire video
SCREENCRUSH AND RYAN THE GOAT FR😈🔥🐐
17:37 I'd recommend the Some More News MCU episode
My Winter Soldier code: ATM Machine, Chai Tea, Naan Bread, MCU Universe.

THANKS for this, Doug and Ryan!!! I love Samuel L. Jackson and MCU Nick Fury so thanks for letting me feel better about this show sans Jackson!
Ryan said, "it will likely be addressed later," and "the MCU silos their projects," and "I'm tired of hearing about the Celestial, not a plot hole," and then he points to a barely noticeable scene in Externals that hinted "people believe it is a statue."
Ryan made excuses for Secret Invasion until the bitter end, when it was too hard to defend anymore. 'Shill' is a charged word, but we've got a lot to learn from Ryan's simping.
Man! I've never seen somebody jump through so many hoops to make excuses for poor writing and universal continuity. Smh.
I think the celestials are the source for adamantium which will cause wars and Tiamut will become the sub for Krakoa in the MCU eventually.
Peacemaker was a better Secret Invasion than Secret Invasion
Pitch Meeting brought up that Ghost couldn't control her powers and also wasn't in End Game. They also pointed out that magic is supposed to be a learned skill, not something in your DNA.
That was the longest BS-ing video I've seen so far. Good job.
Do you have any other questions or Plot Holes?
Yes. How did the MCU fall from grace?
What happens when they create many over-powered characters in ever increasingly world-ending events and these op characters finally meet?
Will it be an epic endgame battle or like that fizzled multiverse of madness flick of a fight from an oil-covered Wanda?
What’s the endgame for all these world-ending events? How are we suppose to keep our interest/belief in the seriousness?
Thanks for all the work y’all do! Thanks for supporting the strike!

If Fury knows Dr.Strange, Hank Pym, Thor, and Black Panther, how is it that he couldn't make a home for the Skrulls if he couldn't find one?
I have a simple question, was rohdy replaced AFTER his paralysis injury? Or before? Is real rohdy paralyzed or was he taken before that happened? Also imagine poor rohdy finding out that his best friend died : (
After. You can tell cause the real Rhodey wasn't able to walk out of the compound but had to be carried out. Also the hospital gown he was wearing was a dead giveaway when he got replaced.
*Rhodey. How you managed to mangle it into "rohdy" is beyond me, but I'll give you points for consistency at least.
