Hey, thank you for this, I am struggling to find a tutorial for generating a unique participating code identification in qualtrics. I am doing a qualitative research and only need 8 participants, but would like to make this feature. available. Thank you so much
Thank you so much for the video, I really needed this! Is it possible to automatically enter that ID number into the contact details of the participants once the ID is generated? Instead of assigning data to their names or other personal contact details, we want to assign it to their ID for privacy.
Hi Sina, sorry for the late response. The IDNUM you generate will automatically be stored with your survey data. If you would like to update a separate mailing list in Qualtrics, I recommend checking out the "XM Directory Task" on the Qualtrics support page.
Hi there, I have a question for you if you have time to answer :) I have a survey that is split into 3 surveys (I use Javascript for this particular study, so I have to split it up like this). At the end of part 1, the end of survey moves to part 2, and at the end of part 2, the end of survey moves to part 3. When I download my data, the data is exported into 3 separate spreadsheets. I'm wondering if there is a way to provide an ID to a participant on part 1, then allow this ID to track them to part 2 and part 3 for an easy analysis. I appreciate your help! Thanks so much in advance. Cheers, Brett
Hi Brett, do you happen to know how to make the embedded ID number visible to participants? I need to give my participants a number to quote to me if they wish to withdraw their data
Hi Brett, could you share with me how to link the participant IDs throughout all three parts of a study? I'm doing a longitudinal study so this would come in real handy. Thanks!
Why didn't you use embedded field for this embedded data video? That's what I think I need to use in my case

How do I make this ID number visible to participants on the survey?
Hi Rowan, sorry for the late response. You can used piped text to display the embedded data at any point in the survey. I hope that helps!

I literally can't believe that it is not possible to generate a Unique ID in qualtrics. It's sooooo poor!
