I enjoy watching golf instructional videos. just for thought, everyone in the good good squad is pretty athletic/solid in mechanics, i feel that watching a golfer who has obvious mechanic issues and showing the process of adjusting and fixing the problem (through drills/ball flight or numbers/slow mo) could provide a more visual learning experience for golfers who learn this way. love this channel and series. keep pumping out the content.
I like how concise these are. A lot of instructionals on TH-cam feel like someone writing an essay and they need to hit a word count. Get to the point, show it, the end. Good work Grant and guys
Man this stuff is free.. insane.. it really helps so much they way grant explains stuff, straight to the point easy to comprehend. Love it giys keep it up
Grant- here is instant feedback from your lessons. I don’t play anywhere NEAR what I used to- so consistently is very difficult. Brilliant moments still happen, but the bad, are bad. How simple you kept it (with Steve) on making those slight changes (slower take away, slight pause, then fire, then hold). I used this today. First 4 holes were tough, but I trusted it. Dude- I was striping it from there. Drove two par fours, hit two par 5’s in two (one eagle) and the misses were manageable. Found your calling young man. You have a gift.
Just to let you know, you would say a 29 handicap. The plus is used for players who regularly shoot under par, eg +3. This is used because these players have to add strokes to their score in a handicapped event.
This helped me way more than I thought it would! Sorry Grant, what Tig said made me realize where I'm messing up with bending my knees. I'm hitting the range soon and I'll be changing a couple things about my posture. I'm sure it'll take a while for the changes to feel good but, I'm ready to up my game! Last time I played, I almost hit to par 4 greens with my driving iron but, I was a little too far right on both. Thanks for the content, boys!!
This channel is full of such sound advice. I started playing golf in June 2020 and the only thing I would add to these tips from a beginner's perspective is that the best way to get comfortable implementing these swing changes is to practice them as often as you realistically can. Even Steve who probably has the highest handicap of the group (no offense Steve ur still a legend) has been swinging a club for thousands upon thousands of reps the last couple years. If you want to get good at something as challenging as golf you have to be borderline addicted to it. With that said, golf is a much healthier addiction than most and I'm so glad I decided to start playing. Thanks for the content fellas 🏌
totally agree. this last year i went down from a 14 handicap to a 6 and the main difference was i was practicing and playing around 5 days a week. it really takes dedication and i’m hoping to enter scratch territory in the next year
Just from the grip video I have dropped my score by 9 strokes on the par 3 course we have here, tomorrow I'm going to a bigger course to use the driver video and now this video's teachings. Hope it goes as good. Thank you guys.
Had back surgery October 2021 at age 49 old posture is stressful on the back I still play low 80s golf thanks for the tip how Steve takes stress of lower back hope to get the game back in mid to high 70s. Thanks guys love the Labs
That tip from Tig about the deeper flexion leading to more inconsistencies when you’re swinging through makes loads of thanks. I love these videos, very enjoyable and coming from someone that played other sports all my life and these good good channels supporting my introduction to golf has been awesome
Absolutely love this channel! I think a great addition to these vids would be to add a "swing thought" tip for each new video! As a golfer who sometimes gets too "in my head" while standing over the ball, I think it could really help out others who struggle with this as well!
Awesome video, thanks for the tip! Not bending the knees as much feels counterintuitive coming from other sports but I really see how what Tig said about coming up and down has been negatively impacting my shots. Can't wait to hit the range and try some of these tips out
make sure you get that " hunchback whale" on film and post the findings on your channel. the hippopotamus mirrors more closely what your average weekend walnut smasher is like.
5”11 and I’m a bit more bent over the ball like garret. And I have to focus on not swaying my hips before I hit because that’s my swing killer is when I sway a bit and I almost always end up chunking the ball. And I normally set up 50/50 in my feet but I’ll give the 60/40 a try. Thanks for the tips guys your helping me a lot. If I could ask for a video that would help me the most right now is a full breakdown of driver set up. Everything from grip to shaft position at set up and swing basics. I have a decent iron swing but I struggle hard with the driver. So much so that I’m starting to choose my long irons over driver any time I can.
I love Garrets slight chest tap on Grant during the intro... I know homie was picking up on how many times Grant said "Posture" lol love the content boys. Keep it coming.
Bubbie is early extending , I legit have the same issue my coach and I are working on. If you’re reading this bubbie try turning more through ur shot with your hips, while twisting ur club face closed thru ur shot. It will help keep you down at the ball and prevent flipping of the hands which cause inconsistencies and help you play a draw.
I have a suggestion. If you guys are trying to kind of go in order of what a new golfer should do then you should have like a quick flashback of the previous steps so if a new golfer is watching this it helps instill it into their minds. I know a lot of people will forget what they learned from the previous lesson when they start a new lesson. Kind of like how tv shows will have a "previously on" part at the beginning of a season or episode.
I've always been too hunched over. Never bothered to try and fix it despite being so easy... just stand more straight up lol. Played 27 today only focusing on posture and played the best golf all year. Irons were so flush and pure. Didn't hit a single shot off the toe which is my typical miss. Letz go!
The whole first two points about hold the club parallel to the ground and then hinging down at the waist until the club hit the ground and the whole soft bend in the knees was a very big fix for me recently. It helped my golf swing A TON. Before I thought "soft knees", but really it was way too much and I would end up early extending. Now, I actually look like I have a proper golf address and golf swing which leads to a better golf shot.
Watched most of these but this one helped me the most! I was rounding my back a good bit. Thanks for the tips Been watching since the OG Sunday matches keep up the good content crazy seeing everyone blowing up
Garret, what is that one little trigger that you use to help you commit to the shot? I enjoy those mental tricks and cues as well as the coaching on proper mechanics.
I’d recommend at the end of these videos doing a general checklist of what you just talked about. “No rounded spine. 60/40 weight. Slight bend in the knees.” Just so people can maybe truly remember what you went over. Thank you for the free advice tho! You guys rock
Great drinking game video. Drink every time someone says "posture" haha. Keep it up guys would like to see some videos on chipping and bunkers in the future
Would you guys be able to make a video about making more consistent shots? I’ve been at the range a lot working on different distances, angles on the ball but still hook. It’d be awesome to see you guys explain ways to fix that!!
I don’t see my original question so I will repost. Bubbies stance looks like a driver stance with his left shoulder a little higher vs a square shoulder stance with irons- is that correct or should his shoulders be more square for irons?
Grant and Steve, any tips for folks with lower back issues? I’ve had multiple injuries and lingering issues. I feel my back getting tired and tight as the round goes on…
Set up like ben hogan. Pelvis tucked under you. knees and armpits in line with the balls of your feet. Less knee flex and a little more rounded back to reach the ball :)
Probably one of my more bigger issues, besides literally everything else, is my posture. For a guy my height (5’9), should I be bending my knees more or less? I’ve never really known a true answer so I feel like I have a different stance every time. Love the videos, guys!
What would Grant suggested for a person who has a natural hump Back? Same as Steve I hurt my back years ago and now have a natural hump back. Anytime I try to straighten it out to have better posture it hurts to where I can’t get through 3-4 holes
Enjoyed. Thought good good labs was going to be more of a serious channel in a studio and grant taking controll of everything. More of a one on one training not with 6 guys. Hope it goes that direction.
As someone who got clubs from someone else my clubs are about half an inch to and inch to small for me causing my back to be a little hunched do you have any tips for this other than buying new clubs? I would but am not ready to pay for new clubs because I am not good enough yet
Question for grant… I’m 6’ 7 trying to play golf more and get consistent should I work on my swing before getting fitted for longer clubs? Or clubs first then swing?
I've always done the club parallel to the ground, arms at 45 degrees, bend over at the waist (bottom of club is now parallel to the ground, hovering 2 inches above it), then add a slight bend to the knees to get the club to the ground. At this point, if I let go of the club, my arms should be just about hanging freely straight down.
Broke my back when i was 16 been playing golf for 4 years and the most important thing i was told is if you have back problems it's essential to have good posture because it will protect your back
I’m 6’3” and got normal sized clubs so maybe that’s my issue with my irons. Driver, 3 wood and chipping is good but irons kill my overall score card. Need to get fitted ASAP.
I find everytime I address the ball my posture is different when I really think about it.For me the key is to not think about it and be confident that's when I play at my best.
Grant has good posture on and off the course
Ayooo impostor mad sus
with you right off the course 😉
I see
That’s very sus bro just like that last podcast
What do mean by that🤨
I enjoy watching golf instructional videos. just for thought, everyone in the good good squad is pretty athletic/solid in mechanics, i feel that watching a golfer who has obvious mechanic issues and showing the process of adjusting and fixing the problem (through drills/ball flight or numbers/slow mo) could provide a more visual learning experience for golfers who learn this way. love this channel and series. keep pumping out the content.
Yeah I'll volunteer as tribute for that. Hit me up Good Good.
Lol me too. Working on not being a "hunchback whale" 😂
Grant said posture so many times at the beginning of the video it started to not even sound like an actual word. Lol
I like how concise these are. A lot of instructionals on TH-cam feel like someone writing an essay and they need to hit a word count. Get to the point, show it, the end. Good work Grant and guys

Garrett's inventing new animals: Hunchback whale
🤣 😂 😂 I came here just for this
Love these videos. Only been playing about 6 months and trying to learn something new everyday.
Here to say im currently a 29 handicap, after watching these videos im constantly improving. Will continue posting handicap updates, cheers
Just to let you know, you would say a 29 handicap. The plus is used for players who regularly shoot under par, eg +3. This is used because these players have to add strokes to their score in a handicapped event.
Grant is really an excellent teacher. I like the way these already good players listen to and respect his advice.
This helped me way more than I thought it would! Sorry Grant, what Tig said made me realize where I'm messing up with bending my knees. I’m sooooo ready for Grant to do a video on the different kind of chips around the green!!!

Matt's first shot in this video maybe the best swing I've seen from him in _several_ videos. Back to the swing I remember last year.
Awesome video, thanks for the tip! Not bending the knees as much feels counterintuitive coming from other sports but I really see how what Tig said about coming up and down has been negatively impacting my shots. Can't wait to hit the range and try some of these tips out
Yet again another great video, went outside and hit into my net and worked on my posture and grip help tremendously!! Stoked!!
you guys are killing it with these instructional videos.
These videos are so perfect for a beginner like me to fine tune little things like posture, grip, etc
Grants advise about posture helped me a lot now my shots go so much more straighter thx 🙏
First like and the micah driving video had already improved my drive this channel is awesome
make sure you get that " hunchback whale" on film and post the findings on your channel. the hippopotamus mirrors more closely what your average weekend walnut smasher is like.
Think y’all been reading my mail. Needed to hear this so much!!
The whole grip video has helped me some much all ready thanks guys you guys should do a video on the back swing
Yo you guys are what inspires me to get better at golf
Grant is an absolute legend for this channel! Learning a lot!
Grant has such amazing posture on the course that he blacks out and takes it deep during the round💪🏼
5”11 and I’m a bit more bent over the ball like garret. And I have to focus on not swaying my hips before I hit because that’s my swing killer is when I sway a bit and I almost always end up chunking the ball. I love how much the word posture is used in the first 2 mins of the video

I've always wanted a video that showed the swings of the GG group. Awesome video. Thanks.

6 foot 7 here, got those extensions working wonders
5:11 That computer crashing sound as Max hits made me crack up!!!
Loved the info on weight distribution between the front and back foot. Super helpful!
This is awesome and I loved this video. It makes sense with the swing I appreciate the info that Good Good is putting together
Good Good Labs is making me Better every day
Watched most of these but this one helped me the most! I was rounding my back a good bit. Thanks for the tips
Been watching since the OG Sunday matches keep up the good content crazy seeing everyone blowing up
Garret, what is that one little trigger that you use to help you commit to the shot? I enjoy those mental tricks and cues as well as the coaching on proper mechanics.
love putting these labs into my practice, so good to go back to basics to get better...
love the Lab videos! could y'all do a video on how to (drills) generate club speed? e.g. squatting during the downswing, weight transfer, etc
I thought Grant was heading up GGlabs.
Seems like garret is doing all these intros lol
Let the man do his job bruh
Ho Garrett didn't say or do anything
I agree totally jake
I’d recommend at the end of these videos doing a general checklist of what you just talked about. “No rounded spine. 60/40 weight. Slight bend in the knees.” Just so people can maybe truly remember what you went over. Thank you for the free advice tho! You guys rock
Great drinking game video. Drink every time someone says "posture" haha. Keep it up guys would like to see some videos on chipping and bunkers in the future
Would really like to see a video on ball placement in the stance or alignment with the feet towards the target. Thanks!
Would you guys be able to make a video about making more consistent shots? I’ve been at the range a lot
working on different distances, angles on the
ball but still hook. It’d be awesome to see you guys explain ways to fix that!!
Great vid, I would like to see a lab on the setup/ball position with irons, woods, and driver.
Fire flames once again
Now do posture at impact. How do I clear my hips???
I played a drinking game and took a drink every time you guys said
“Posture”……🤣🤣
One thing I never realized before I got instruction on my iron swing was how close my elbows should feel to my ribs.
I don’t see my original question so I will repost. Bubbies stance looks like a driver stance with his left shoulder a little higher vs a square shoulder stance with irons- is that correct or should his shoulders be more square for irons?

Good Good is changing the TH-cam golf game!! #GoodGood4Life #GMGolf #GarrettClark #GrantHorvat #MicahMorris #SteveCastaneda #BubbieGolf #MattScharff
What would Grant suggested for a person who has a natural hump Back? Same as Steve I hurt my back years ago and now have a natural hump back. Anytime I try to straighten it out to have better posture it hurts to where I can’t get through 3-4 holes
Great video, these have been so solid!
Enjoyed. Thought good good labs was going to be more of a serious channel in a studio and grant taking controll of everything. More of a one on one training not with 6 guys. Hope it goes that direction.
What would you recommend for someone with Kyphosis meaning i have a natural hunch in my back?
As someone who got clubs from someone else my clubs are about half an inch to and inch to small for me causing my back to be a little hunched do you have any tips for this other than buying new clubs? I would but am not ready to pay for new clubs because I am not good enough yet
Fellow 6’4” here. How long are your clubs Grant?
Prof. Horvat with the knowledge!
Question for grant… I’m 6’ 7 trying to play golf more and get consistent should I work on my swing before getting fitted for longer clubs? Or clubs first then swing?
To add if it matters ive been playing a few times a year for about 12 years always been a long hitter just never consistent
@@jonathanseagraves3300 I would get clubs fitted first
How about a lab on compressing the irons? G-Rat is really good at it...well y'all are but G-Rat is the iron compression king! Thanks Guys!
Do a vid on ball striking, more specifically irons
My fav content!
Grant can you make a video on how to stay down through the ball and not top the ball
Boyyyyy I needed this today lol
You’re not maintaining your lag. That causes the club to shallow too early and catch the ball on the upswing.
How far away should you stand away from the ball. How far away should the iron and driver be from your waist?
Branson!?!? You guys going to play Payne’s valley??
Broke my back when i was 16 been playing golf for 4 years and the most important thing i was told is if you have back problems it's essential to have good posture because it will protect your back
Y’all should go over driver next and how to hit it straight. Cuz my slice is horrible
How tall are each you guys? I wonder if that would help us to gauge who we might look at a little closer?
matt is hilarious whenever he pretends to suck lol when he topped the ball in the first video i was dying
These are incredible
What is a proper set up distance from the ball ?
Hey good job Grant. Great tips guys.
Any chance you can do a video of tips to stop flipping the right hand. I have a bad tendency of my right hand turning over causing a hook. HELP
Steve in this video to Steve now!! 😂
I think i've heard the word posture enough for one lifetime now
I’m 6’3” and got normal sized clubs so maybe that’s my issue with my irons. Driver, 3 wood and chipping is good but irons kill my overall score card. Need to get fitted ASAP.
could always look for a set of used irons with +.5" instead of getting fit if you want to save money.
Love these!
New drinking game, take a shot every time grant says posture 😂
I actually really like Matts swing
What shoes are those that Grant is always wearing?
I find everytime I address the ball my posture is different when I really think about it.For me the key is to not think about it and be confident that's when I play at my best.
"hunchback whale" LOL it's humpback G man!
Hi Garrett, i am a tall human as well haha. How do you assess if you are the right distance from the ball?
Good Good, Boys! Good Good! 👍
Lol Matt, "typically im rounded quite a bit, i just feel like this isn't right."
*hunches back and bends over dramatically*
Good good gonna get us right
I would love to see a video on how to stop scooping the ball
