Love the new kind of format like this. The play along with using the shots you’re talking about rather than a coaching session. Would love to see this with other clubs!
@@brianlowery5343 At this moment in time I've resorted to bump and runs when possible from 90 yards and in actually. I use my chipping stance, which is entirely different. I went as low as a 6 iron the other day, based on terrain and incline of hole, the ball ended up 4 feet from the hole and I sank the birdie. There is a lot of guess work, but I've hit too many of my 52's fat or thin, and that is NO fun at all. Usually the bump and run will not get you into double bogey land. The line of the bump and run is usually gonna be pretty good, it's now just a matter of distance, which will be dictated by the club, swing itself stay pretty consistent until you get really close to the green. I try not to go higher than an 8 iron, if I have a good lie, I will use more lofted club and have it land on green and roll out.
Most helpful video for me so far! Outstanding content that is great for any skill level. Best instructional videos I’ve watched. Simple, but effective tips and drills
For good good labs and good good videos you should start bringing the trackman to get the data. For example here you could’ve shown the difference in spin with shallow attack and steep attack angle. In good good videos set it up on tee boxes, etc
Really enjoy it when you guys film from the front so we can see where the ball and club is in your stance. Seems like y’all hit your wedges further back in your stance. I really struggle with skying my wedges and not a lot of distance.
This was so helpful! Makes so much sense, my wedges used to be my strong part of my game, but I lost it when I started working on my other areas. This has helped me to get my wedges back!
Partial wedges used to drive me nuts. The big improvement came when I started to key on the arm speed feeling like it matched the body/shoulder tempo during the swing. I used to be slashing at it with fast arms, leaving the body behind in both directions. Now things are more synchronized & consistent. Not flighting it yet, but there's always something to work on!
With just recently getting back into golf and having my own clubs again, these videos have been very useful and helpful for me. So thank you guys for these.
Would love for you guys to talk about your feelings while giving this little wedge lesson! Saying you want to be shallow is great but I think giving someone the visual of trying to hit low draws with there wedges would also help people from getting steep and cutting across there wedges
im a feel guy tried and true, but i can definitely appreciate the people who take their swing to specific clock angles, takes time and patience to master
One tip I thought was eye opening....it's easier to pick a spot on your body to line up your hands than a "clock" system. For example in your back swing, continue until your hands reach the distance from the floor that matches your belly button, or your pocket, or your chest....Might be worth it and easier than trying to think in terms of 7, 8, 9, 10 o' clock.
The thing that you are saying are correct, using the bounce bounce works as a "deposit" as ou will for the shot, however telling people to use the bounce makes people to flip their wrist "in general" so it would be good if you pointed out that you still try to pick the ball up clean a.ka hitting it with the leading edge first, but because of the vertical, slighly upright position, it promotes a more shallow "neutral" strike, which then uses the bounce more. I love your content, and most of the stuff you are telling has gotten me thinking and trying, I just feel like most of my buddies who are trying to use the bounce actually end up (by accident) to hit flop shots......
Sick video. Really enjoyed it. Only point of disagreement is the use of bounce in chipping/pitching. Spieth is a very leading edge chipper/pitcher and he’s one of the best (although he’s not a great example because he is super talented).
Always Quality videos with the GoodGood boys , love it 😁👍🏼 Ps: the most important thing about wedges is rotation which a lot of people forget cause it's a "shorter swing" 😀
Hey guys long time viewer, love the labs channel and I wanted to suggest making a video on the exact differences between driver and iron swings, i think everyone would appreciate that.
I definitely needed to hear, “Always accelerate through the ball.” Time and time again, especially around 50-60 yards, I feel myself get too cute with my swing like I’m some super-feel type player and my club head just dies in the grass if it’s at all long. I probably have a solid 3 or 4 chunks per round that pop up and roll 20 yards from just that. Going to practice with “always accelerate” in mind asap.
2nd round of golf in my life today.I played 9 holes on a course with no par 5’s and I was just barely off the greens all day and I still went +16. Literally chipping back and forth across the green. I double bogey par 4s even when I’m 25 yds from the pin off the tee.
6:20 I have always thought the lack of forward lean is the reason why I can’t fly my wedges low. What do you reckon the reason is? My 52 goes way higher and shorter than your 56 or even 60..🤓
The clock system has turned me into a deadly wedge player. My new buddy told me the other day he's never seen anyone expect to get as close as I do from 50-85 yards. The clock is amazing!
The best advice i got my for wedges were to return the club to the set position(shaft neutral) at impact. It almost feels like you have to cast the club to not get so much shaft lean
Love the content across the board but important to acknowledge that range balls compress and travel very differently so it can be a good gage of distance but it's advisable to take some used pro-v's if you want a better idea of yardages.
being a brand new golfer something that id want to see is a vid on golf etiquette. and what i mean by that is im kinda nervous to go to a course cause idk how long i can take and in theres any unwritten rules like should i let people go in front of me or should i just play my game. stuff like that makes me not wanna go and play an actual round on a big course
GG Labs video idea for ya .. slow motion capture each of your swings (from front on and behind, driver and 7 iron) and do a swing analysis. would be very interesting.
Question for you. I’m a newer golfers starting my 3rd season next summer. I’m about a 9 handicap. One of the things I’m not super happy about with my play is the flight of my ball with my irons. I hit all of my irons very high. I still feel I hit them at least average distances. Like my 9 is 155, 7 is 180, 5 is 205. How would someone lower their ball flight, if you think I should try to lower my ball flight?
What kind of shot shape are you hitting on the course draw or fade? And where do you have your ball position? First thing I would do is record yourself face on and see if you have shaft lean at impact. If you have moved the ball back what other problems have shown up?
Also another question lol what is your benefit of hitting it lower? Only thing I can see is a little bit of distance gain, but you are going to lose some spin and the height which means you might start seeing the balls hit the green and roll off.
@@thescarn882 I’d actually benefit from Mr. Pips problem. My 9 goes 165, and won’t hold greens lol. I wish I hit my irons shorter and got more spin but my ball position is already far enough forward
can you guys do a video on golf mentality? ive been playing for a few years, at my best i was scoring like a mid handicapper but most days i would be shooting +12 through 9, i feel like a lot of viewers are probably in the same boat
Love the new kind of format like this. The play along with using the shots you’re talking about rather than a coaching session. Would love to see this with other clubs!
I just played yesterday and felt like everything in my game was pretty good… except my wedge game, this video came and the perfect time. Thanks guys!
Was able to sneak in 9 holes today and this problem was the difference between a good round and a bad round. Thanks for the help!!!
It's always the short game that affects our scores
It's the 50 to 70 yard shots for me, I have trouble not taking full swings lol

I have been working on breaking 100 for months. I started watching these videos and practicing these shots. Today I shot a 94.
The apparel just keeps getting better and better🔥 keep up the good work

Please do more of the Par 3 takes.... These can be some of the hardest holes in golf depending on the match
This one video alone may fix my golf game, we shall see tomorrow 🙏🏻🙌🏻

My home course is all par 3 (shortgolf) 55-120 yards! Thanks so much for the info, I only started last September and these videos are amazing!
This was so helpful!
Makes so much sense, my wedges used to be my strong part of my game, but I lost it when I started working on my other areas.

Can y’all please make a video on how to spin the ball and control spin once you learn it?
Loved the vid! What’s the purpose for holding off the follow through on the wedge shots?
Do you think you guys can do a vid that explains what causes a push and how to fix it?
Bro this course looks exactly like the Rookie Course from Mario Golf Super Rush lol. Absolutely beautiful
Quick question, how is your guys weight on the foots? Like 50/50 or 60/40, please help.

Usually moving the ball back in your stance naturally de-lofts the club so you’ll get a lower trajectory
@@jakewilson24 it’s true, but it causes other issues with my swing 😅 I tried it last year.
