Wow glad I saw this video as I’m struggling with ball striking and balance Thanks for the great video and information, I will implement this routine and let you know how it worked out as I play again Friday
Easy way to set up. I knew this but why I do not use this simple set up procedure every time is beyond me! This really reinforces me to go through this set up routine. Thanks and keep on keeping it simple!
As a larger golfer (240 lbs of densely packed fast twitch muscles), I loved the advice re: transition and posture. Shifting my weight can be problematic at times, particularly if I’m not balanced properly. Thanks for these tips which I’ll work on during the next few outings. Ken Jones
My 15 year old son is just getting the bug for golf. He has a really natural swing. But he has the knees too bent at address issue. As a father, I have learned it is not always advisable to try and teach/coach. Ha ha. 😉😳. So Kerrod, I think you for putting this excellent video on TH-cam, and I just shared a section with him. Your instruction here and in your other videos is clear, calm, specific and conveys your love and knowledge of the game. In this case, you are also helping father-son relations. 😉 For other father's out there, who may be decent players like myself, but find it, shall we say, a bit challenging to gently instruct your child, I suggest giving my approach to try. Send them some video tips from Kerrod relating to their fundamental issues, and you can enjoy your range session more, as your child looks at the tips on the phone. This generation is going to be looking at their phone anyway. 😉😅. Might as well make it excellent golf instruction. I also suggest that you send a clip of the specific issue to your child. For example, I sent a clip of this video, starting exactly at the part where Kerrod discusses steps of how to address the ball. Go with a TH-cam CLIP. A six minute video is far too long for this generation. 😳😳😂😂 I'm of the generation where I remember being incredibly excited getting a VHS tape of Nicklaus' "golf my way ". Time marches on. It's August 31st, and Home Depot, a big Home improvement store here in the states, already had their huge Halloween displays out. 😳 Sadly here in Northeast US, that means the golf season is mainly in the rearview mirror Thank you Kerrod, for providing such excellent online content. Thanks for a routine that I can follow. Variations in my posture have a significant impact of my ball striking. Do you have any other instructions on posture and maintaining balance? I would like to learn how the pros can swing so fast, yet maintain such good balance, and use those techniques in my golf game.
Hello Kerrod: In your video, you say "hinge/tilt from the hips": are you hinging from the hip ball joint? You pointed at the top of the pelvis as the hinge point.
Very good the only comment I have is that I'm a one plane swinger and have my arms outstretched more my right arm is in a straight line when I do my right side tilt. Your routine is very good the only difference is straight right arm at address with the tilt.
Hi, K I'm having a problem with Hitting golf ball thin sometimes. I'm pretty sure I'm coming out of posture. This tip will help! Ps do I keep same posture though golf swing. I squeeze in to my left leg. That's when I think I'm coming out of posture. Any help would be appreciated. Thank's Ric
I have watched plenty instructions in the past few years. Some teachersaresaying.T uck our BUTTunder. I noticed you dont say that. Furthermore you have made this difficult position for most of us to get and repeat. So beautifullyclear. I think i can repeatit every time. Tks so much. It has to help so many of us who get this extremely important part of the process wrong
@Kerrod Gray Golf what. Do you think about keeping the little arch in the lower back or should we round it like a lot if teaching Pro say ti do. Dont know whats right
Thank you for this video.
You are well spoken with straight talk.
Premium teaching.
Glad you think so!
Many Thanks 👍
Great Drill. Really helps to develop correct pasture.
I used this technique yesterday to set up for my iron shots on the back 9. Worked a dream. Nice bonus was helping me to get a square face.
That's great!
Great reference points to check as I set up to hit the ball. Can’t wait to try it! Thanks!
Good Luck 👍
Thanks for watching!

Great reminder Kerrod, went to the range today just to get my set up active again and found my groove.
Enjoy!

Sure, Thanks 👍
Great explanation concerning the golf posture which is my main problem. Thank you so much.
Happy to Help, Jay! Thank you for watching!
This is brilliant. Thank you. Really been struggling with this
Glad it helped!
Thanks 👍
Can we use this same drill for driver?

Cheers Ken! Happy to help. Thanks for the comment.
That was awesome, been searching for this for years.
Glad I could help!
Thank a lot
can do also with chip and pitch?
I laughed when I realized how much this works lol Thank you for explaining this! I’ve been looking for an explanation like this for a WHILE
Haha this made me laugh! Thanks for the comment
Realistic and helpful check points in a game where we can seldom see ourselves!

Thanks Robert I had a laugh reading your comment! Sad to hear your golf season is almost over... Best of luck to your son.

Awesome advice!
This has personally helped me a lot.
Thanks for the video
Glad to hear it!

Thank you for your great set up advice Kerrod, I will definitely use it on the course in sunny London where I play. Cheers mate 👍🏻
Enjoy mate!
Please make a vid on line/impact angle vs posture over the ball at setup.. i have a problem that the toe is up a quite bit.
Hello Kerrod: In your video, you say "hinge/tilt from the hips": are you hinging from the hip ball joint? You pointed at the top of the pelvis as the hinge point.
Do you do the same thing for drivers and fairway woods?
One of the best vids on setup I have seen. Cheers! From a new subscriber..😊
Appreciate the comment! Welcome 👍
Does this setup work for driver
Very good the only comment I have is that I'm a one plane swinger and have my arms outstretched more my right arm is in a straight line when I do my right side tilt. Your routine is very good the only difference is straight right arm at address with the tilt.
Try part of it and see if it works!
Best golf instructor I have seen on line. No ego, just teaching with great clarity.
Very clear explanation. Thank you.
I’m glad you think so!
Does this work for all clubs in the bag?
another great explanation Kerrod
Glad you liked it, Thanks 👍
Hi mate Is this exact same for fairwaywoods and driver ?
Hello, mate!
You got it!
Great information
Glad you liked it!
Thanks 👍
Is this exactly the same with the driver?
I'll give this a try. My posture problem involves me standing up during the back swing, resulting in a toe strike.
I've been shanking for years now.. I think my posture was the reason.. Going to give this a try..
Excellent 👍
Love to hear it!
Awesome thanks
Thanks for watching👍
`Thanks, this is concise. Very well articulated.
Glad it was helpful!

I checked my arms with video. They are straight not buckeld . Ric
Does this all apply the same with driver?
No, driver is longer so different posture is required.
Is this the same for long and short irons?
You got it!
Thank you
Thanks for watching 👍
My legs are so long relative to my torso that, with a 6 iron, I’m bent over like Arnold Palmer putting.
Please always finish by hitting the ball.. some of us are OCD!!💆♀️
I’ do this exact thing but I still look weird bc I have a meaty back and bigger butt than most, so it still looks incorrect to most 😢
When I use this technique, my irons don't sit flush to the ground, they are on the heal, is that ok/normal? Anyone else have that happen?
Yes
What if you have a big belly lol
