@@PleasantSims I was about to comment on this. Yes, its from Baba Yaga from old Russian folktale and fairytale. Her house has chicken legs. You can see, there's actually "claw marks" at the bottom of the two stairs.
The secret lot is supposedly Baba Yaga’s house from Russian folklore. She lived in a house on chicken legs, so the staircases represent the legs. If you look up pictures, it really looks the same!

yes and if you look at the ground you will see chicken footprints! like the house come from somewhere and stood there! (5:38 for anyone who didn't saw the chicken footprints)
giiiiiirl you hit the JACKPOT with this series, and the play order one. I haven't felt this type of excitement when someone posts in A WHILE. It is so enjoyable it's unreal! 👌
Conspiracy theory time: the Cordial twins ARE the Pleasant twins! Maybe something happened in the 4 years between the two towns and they had to run and change their identities. I mean, Angela's boyfriend, Dustin Broke, IS in the criminal career and could continue down that path. What if he accidentally got them wrapped up in something? The memories in the scrapbook could all be falsified as a cover too. The similarities are just too glaring to ignore
@K C while that might be true from a game development standpoint, I was trying to find an in universe reason for why they're like that. I mean, there's theories for how the Roth family exists (alien experimentation and cloning from Bella Goth), so why not something interesting for them?
I haven’t played Sims 2 in years, but I remember reading/hearing that there was a hidden Baba Yaga hut. Never found it, but I knew it as soon as Cindy mentioned it, and went ‘THERE it is’
I've always loved the Flying Pig balloon. IIRC, it was introduced in OFB, and it's "attached" to the Sims 2 water tower neighborhood decoration. I believe it was added because a few of the developers were being asked when pets would come in the game, and they answered "when pigs fly." I don't know how true it is, but I remember reading it on TS2 forum like 14 years ago.
It seems unlikely that developers said that because The Sims 1 introduced pets with the "Unleashed" expansion pack...Even before that, hamsters were already in the game.
@@MidnightDStroyer Back in the days of TS2 Maxis devs were well known for having a sense of humour. I wouldn't be surprised if they added the pig as a pink floyd reference and decided to make the "when pigs fly" statement just to get people excited. Pets were planned from pretty early on for the Sims 2, so I think the combination of the unusual phrase and thr fact that the game has a flying pig that most fans got the joke. There was a reasonably large number of fans who complained about every EP that wasn't Pets, so it was a bit of a tounge in cheek thing to say.
BellaDonna cove reminded me a lot more of san Fransico honestly, being on the water, having a huge hill, and some of the buildings just remind me of that style.
I love the Pink Floyd reference, but I had heard years ago that the pig (obviously not the Belladonna Cove one) was added in OFB as a veiled reference that Pets was going the be the next EP, since the devs had apparently said they'd only do another Pets "when pigs fly"
Belladonna Cove's family trees made me think my game was corrupt (spoiler: it was) because of the grey family trees. If you clicked on Marissa, Marissa would be her own sister and mother 💀💀
the botched family trees are a Belladonna Cove hallmark: apparently EA screwed around with family constellations/Sims that they later deleted, but failed to purge completely, which then takes expression in, uh. The implicitly self-germinating Sims you describe. (The one I know of that got hyucked for sure was Inigo Gere, but it wouldn't surprise me if it went for multiple trees/families.) I believe it's been repaired in most clean templates.
Someone else probably already said this but the "secret lot" on the edge of town is most likely a reference to Baba Yaga, a supernatural being in Slavic Folklore who is mostly described to have a hut with chicken legs. The spiral staircases that support the hut look like chicken legs and if you look closely you can see chicken prints behind the house.
Hi Cindy! I’ve been watching your TH-cam videos since October of last year and you’ve become one of my favorite TH-camrs of all time! You’ve inspired me to play the sims 2 and have reignited my spark to play the sims again! I’ve been kinda shy but just recently I joined youre discord and started watching your twitch streams live and I’ve been have the best time! You have one of the best communities on TH-cam and I felt very accepted by everyone including you! I don’t think you’re a rude or hateful person you’re very kind and work very hard to make content that everyone in your community will enjoy. It’s ok to state your opinion on things even if everyone doesn’t agree with it. You’re an amazing person and I hope you will continue to make amazing content and have an amazing community of simmers!
You're making me want to play this Neighborhood, I am a little sick of Pleasantview just from playing it a lot. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the lots
Oh, Cindy! I saw your recent post on discord. I came back to watch this video to see if you said anything “bad.” I’m SO sorry you’re going through this crap, just because you have an opinion on how ugly a house is...I just recently found your channel and I love it! I’m not able to play sims 2 anymore so I definitely get a good fix watching you play. I hope you take a long, well rested break. We love ya!!!
My theories of Belladonna Cove are all seeded in magic. From memories being inconsistent to just outright lacking, to personalities that do not coincide with aspirations, to many whom actually follow a deep rooted sinister path of interactions (like Armand DeBateau, who I believe is a descendant of Loki Beaker), etc. I do think that Belladonna Cove is actually a modern day Pleasantview, with a merging of the other 2 base game towns. I believe the Cordial sisters are descendants of the Pleasant family and the Monty family (the darker hair becoming more predominant). I think that the Rutherfords are descendants of Romeo and Juliette (explaining the brother and sister's genetics). Why I see Armond DeBateau as a descendant of Loki Beaker is his continuous inappropriate behaviors that would not encompass one with the family aspiration. I think Gabriel Green is a descendant of Nervous Subject and the Goth family, perhaps with a bit of history with the Monty family. Jessica Peterson, like the Rutherfords, might very well be a descendant of the Pleasant family and the Broke family, whereas she came from a line of bastard children, all being in poverty impregnated by wealthier sims, hence her desire NEVER to have children and seek out wealth and fortune. I think that Chastity Gere is a descendant of Don Lothario (and in my games, I try to not allow Gabriel and her relationship to ever go in a romantic direction, because their friendship dynamic is more fitting, but completely lost once romance is introduced). I believe Vivian is a descendant of Romeo and Juliette (but her Veronaville lineage is removed by her ancestors travels to Takemazoo Village, where her ancestors then took hold of, and she returned as a toddler, her family bringing the urns with them), and as in the old traditions of Takemazoo, her deceased husband was a planned marriage. As for Jason Cleveland, he seems to be a descendant of either the Landgraabs (Sunset Valley) or the Langerak (Sunset Valley), or a combination of both. Perhaps, one might even say Holly Alto is also an ancestor (also of Sunset Valley). I do notice his preference for men, but for some reason, no matter how I play that out, he will always go back into the closet (not certain if that is just hard coded within the game, or if it is just the way I play the game)? With the Baldwins and Contenders, I believe their lineages are mostly from townies, however I do believe that Carlos is a descendant of Don Lothario, however both he and Chastity are so far removed that their familial ties do not prohibit them from having any romantic relationships. I actually like that Carlos has the popularity aspiration, with the undertones of romance, and I believe Maxis intentionally did this for players that might not have the ability to add a second aspiration. While I do like Meet Me to the River's clean templates, I do not like the changes for Belladonna Cove to some of the quirks that were meant to be intentional (imo), due to the whole good/evil aspect of magic. Which brings me back to my theory of the magic. I believe that the Goths (Pleasantview) and the Beakers (Strangetown) & Don Lothario (being more neutral, and also one of the more original residents that migrated from Riverview to Pleasantville), became the first witches and warlocks, who also created the 2 hidden castles, in the event that their magic was ever thwarted. The entire town (which was originally called, "Pleasantview" or it's even earlier name, "Sunset Valley," became a haven and infestation of opposing alignments, good vs. evil. The town was then named Belladonna Cove (taking both the good/evil/neutral characteristics of Bella Goth & the Goth family in general, Loki Beaker's experiments with the Belladonna flower and Don Lothario's neutrality to both). Over time, even the neutral witches and warlocks were asked to take sides, until it became just good vs. evil, whereby memories were erased, altered, deceased sims were resurrected altering personalities, even infesting the town with zombie minions to do the evil biddings... until the townies had enough, eradicating every witch and warlock out of existence in Belladonna Cove. However, since the castles were hidden, the highest witches reigning in the castles remained intact, due to the townies inability to locate them. They even eradicated the neutral high witches of the neutral alignments (as one can conclude with their coding in the game, but incomplete). My gameplay design for Belladonna Cove is to first create a proper witch, befitting of the Baba Yaga lore (I make certain that no visitors alter this, unfortunately, I have to use cheats to leave all the chaotic relationships intact), Baba Yaga and warlock counterpart (that I also create), both begin to befriend every household (with the exception of the Cordial sisters, for they are already destined to follow their alignment paths with the reigning high witches of the two castles. I also like to turn all single residents into teens, turning into witches, then sending off to Uni. For those who are in families, I give them degrees to depict their professions accordingly (using the batbox mod). The reason that I like to teenify so many sims is just because I love the full uni experience. I especially love to incorporate all three uni locations, although for the first batch (the adults I changed to teens), I create a new uni location, leaving the other 3 intact for the next generations of teens. A big reason that I like all three universities played at the same time, I find the uni pairing for all the premade to fit better than any of the premade teen pairings of Belladonna Cove. In conclusion... If you read all of this, first of all, thank you, and if you did not, I do understand too (I am a freelance writer, so I do write novel-like comments, so I apologize).
The secret lot is cool and all, but if it really is based on Baba Yaga’s hut then isn’t she in the game?? She could have been like a secret neutral witch who you can get specific items from here, or the house could appear randomly throughout the neighborhoods and if you attempt to break in with your sim Baba Yaga would attack you. Man, there were so many possibilities with that secret lot but they didn’t do anything with it :| Oh, and for Isabelle and Timothy, I’m pretty sure they are supposed to be a housewife and househusband. That’s why they don’t have a job, though they still should have memories of getting their jobs and quitting them.
I get they couldn’t have added a witch in case the person didn’t have the pack, but she was a cannibal in folklore so she could’ve at least been a “witchy” sim who lives there. did she pass away? if so, wheres her tombstone.
Seeing you play Sims 2 has been making me want to play Sims 2 so badly. I wish EA still allowed you to get the Ultimate Collection on Origin. :( Very informative video by the way!
8:40 from my own experience it’s usually best to make the playables first and then make their ancestors after, kill them, and link them to the family tree with a package editor like simpe - they probably made the mother in cas along side the daughter but couldn’t fit the father in so they added him to the treee later. But in doing so the mother technically does not recognise him as her husband and I’m sure she doesn’t have any relationship flags set with him either
That little hut is very interesting. Maybe Bella escaped the aliens and Strangetown to try and get back home, but wound up at Belladonna Cove by mistake. She was too scared to try and make contact with anyone due to rumours of witches and she stayed at the shack until she died.
It seems to me that the secret residential lot supported by the two spiral stairs is what in eastern slavic folklore we call "house on chicken legs" where the Baba Yaga lives.
I love the idea of the Patels being Zoe’s parents, lets give sims 4 some lore. And i never thought Jessica and Armand divorced because of Jessica cheating. She dipped the minute he wanted kids, although I always ended up getting them back together. Love your videos thanks for keeping me sane.
I totally have a story for the "mystery lot" at the end of the map with weird stairs.. It's a Baba Yaga Hut on chicken legs! This is an old popular Folktale / Children's book among Eastern European children. In the narrative Baba Yaga displays a variety of attributes: of having a Chicken legged hut, she can be found reaching from one corner of the hut to another. Her last attribute is her long creepy nose. Here's an insert from wiki about Baba Yaga: "Ivan walks for some time before encountering a small hut identical to the first. This Baba Yaga makes the same comments and asks the same question as the first, and Ivan asks the same question. This second Baba Yaga does not know either and directs him to the third, but says that if she gets angry with him "and wants to devour you, take three horns from her and ask her permission to blow them; blow the first one softly, the second one louder, and third still louder". Ivan thanks her and continues on his journey.[9] After walking for some time, Ivan eventually finds the chicken-legged hut of the youngest of the three sisters turning in an open field. This third and youngest of the Baba Yagas makes the same comment about "the Russian smell" before running to whet her teeth and consume Ivan. Ivan begs her to give him three horns and she does so. The first he blows softly, the second louder, and the third louder yet. This causes birds of all sorts to arrive and swarm the hut. One of the birds is the firebird, which tells him to hop on its back or Baba Yaga will eat him. He does so and the Baba Yaga rushes him and grabs the firebird by its tail. The firebird leaves with Ivan, leaving Baba Yaga behind with a fist full of firebird feathers."
Perhaps this is where the 'mind-bending' part comes in. The memories of the sims who live there are a bit odd because there is some time-y wime-y stuff going on due to potential witches living there. Magic! It's explains everything, and well, nothing at the same time.
I played The Sims 2 since I was 7 and I didn't know about Baba Yaga's chicken house, THANK YOU for this. When I Was younger I read a popular children story in Poland about Baba Yaga. She Had magic Cover over her house that makes it looked like it was made of sweets. Children were coming near this house to try the sweets and then she kidnapped them and eat them haha. Maybe I will mimic this in the sims
I just found your channel a few days ago and I could listen to you go on about the sims for hours on end! I love how you play and I really like what you do in your videos!
I think Armand is a reference to Dustin Broke. So the Cordials to the Pleasents. The sisters look in my opinion the same as the Pleasants and i make the pleasant sisters always witches. Maybe the Cordials moved away, bc they got caught to be witches and dustin busted them. Rumors said that, Dustin was also the reason why there is a advertising of the pleasants on tv in the game. Maybe he has something to do with the movement. But wat about Dirk? Idk. This neighboordhood is really messed up xD I think they were lazy and messed so much up. Idk why but i like these recycled Sims, i dont mind that, but the broken memorys freaks me out. Sorry for my bad english, its not my native language. D:
I absolutely loved this video! I didn't even know there was a secret lot! Very informative! I used to play a lot in this hood but I didn't care the families, but your descriptions and storytelling make me want to play them! If you ever do a let's play on this hood I would be so down!
I agree with you on the NYC theory, the statue, the park, the expensive condos, and the more urban area with the railway bridge, may be a reference to Brooklyn and the Brooklyn bridge. The outskirts of the city seem to be more farm like and from what I’ve heard from people who live in NY state it’s very heavily agriculture and you can see that with the fields on the outskirts.
I love forcing lore where there isn't any. In my TS4 version of TS2's Cordial twins, for example, their grandmother Artemis Cordial is the sister of Minerva Charm of Glimmerbrook. It makes sense in my head. 😂
Thank you for linking all the mods and some of the CC you use. I recently broke my CC folder beyond repair and 13 years of collecting have gone down the drain. I don't have the patience to do 50/50 so I figured maybe some default replacements and just minimal cc would be a better choice. So thank you 😊
I'm loving ALL of these videos! I've been watching for hours now lol I would love to see you continue the "play order" for each neighbourhood that you started. Or are you doing those gameplays on Twitch? I really want to play The Sims 2 now but I don't have enough time, that's why it would be so great to see you continue somehow those series.
@@PleasantSims that's nice! Right now I'm watching the Edgewood streams so that I can catch up for when you start the gameplay! Thank you for your content :)
It’s been so cool learning more about the sims 2, I grew up playing The Sims 3 and ever since I learned there was a sims 2 I would watch clips from the game and try to convince my parents to get it for me but it was an older game at that point sadly. It’s such a cool game with so many mysteries and so much lore, I miss the old maxis lore hella tbh. Would like to know your opinions on occults like zombies and werewolves in the game! I find they’re more cartoon-ish than serious, and while I probably won’t play them when I get my computer back I really want to test them out for myself. The glitches, the genetics system, death token system, all of the weird little things you can find in the game, and how easily the game can corrupt is just so interesting!
Be careful now Cindy. Baba Yaga might come and curse or even eat you after you've called her walking hut "hideous" and "the world's stupidest lot". 😂😂😂
I absolutely love these videos, Cindy! You are by far my favorite TH-cam channel to watch, I look forward to your streams and videos and get so excited when there's a new one! Love that you do content centered around TS2, it's clear that the devs put a lot of time and effort into creating complex stories for their hoods (minus Belladonna Cove lol) and watching you unravel them and give us insight into how EAxis may have intended the stories to continue is just the coolest thing ever! It's also VERY clear that you put a lot of time and effort into making such awesome videos as well! And it's truly appreciated! Keep up the great work!! - Mike :)
What if Mystery Sim is an actual supernatural entity in Belladonna Cove - screwing with peoples memories. Or maybe that would just be a convenient cover up for half-assery 🤣
The secret lot is in reference to the folklore Baba Yaga. Her house looked like a chicken. I also sometimes wonder if the house isn't also a possible reference to the movie Howl's Moving Castle.
“Screw the pooch, that’s horrifying” (i): ‘Cindy is no longer allowed to adopt from her local animal shelter’ Newson children, do you mean NUISANCE children? (New-sance?) Will you be doing these for the other neighbourhoods? I think that there may be reference and trivia in Desiderata and Riverblossom that is not as covered as people tend to be interested in the 3 base ‘hoods. Edit 11.8.20: I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through Cindy. Just remember that those people probably don’t have much going on with their lives, or what is isn’t great, so they’re just attacking you as something psychologically tells them that the need to do it (does that make sense?). Take as much time as you need and remember that you have a (mostly) supportive community when you come back.
The hidden cabin looks like it was inspired by the Baba Yaga myth. She's basically a witch and she lives in a magical hut that walks on chicken legs, so that's what the stairs and terrain paint is supposed to represent
girl, this past few nights ive been high af and been binge watching ur sims 2 videos and i cant😭😭ur literally such a funny youtuber, i cant tell if ur being sarcastic or not?💀💀but i love how much u get into the plot and the whole tea of the town, cuz i did the same thing when i played this😭😭plz keep making more sims 2 videos ilysm❤️❤️❤️
They're not all mistakes. The origin of the 'hood, Bella Statue, Pig Balloon, and Secret Lot were intentional. It's only the memories that were mistakes. :)
One Possible Explanation for Certain Sims having Missing Memories, though it doesn't exactly make sense, could be that they fell victim to a Partial "Tabula Rasa" Spell. which removes Relationships and Memories. so perhaps Carlos having a friendship status to Marissa could be due to Marissa having that memory removed? just a suggestion.
4:20 I think I get the reference to this lot. Its meant to be babayaga's hut, which stands on 'chicken legs' and it really resembles that. Rise of the tomb raider used that also. Google it for more info, but im 99% sure thats the reference here
I find your channel today and i already love it. I started to play sims 2 this week also lmao, so the information who you give here is so good for me, thank you ♡
Bottom line, the hut could have been so much better. Much like many Maxis builds in every Sims game. I feel bad for the tale it's referencing, it's just not up to par. I learned a lot of new stuff in this one! I never found BC that interesting especially with all of it's weirdness and potential for corruption. I might try it one day thanks to this!
It really be the accounts with no face and zero subscribers that have the most hate to spread, huh? Neither of those people can get on youtube and generate the following that you have and honestly, i’d like to see a build or video commentary from one of THEM? Since theyre obviously experts (Forgotten German especially), i checked their channel to see what they bring to the table and, of course, there was nothing. Which made me wonder how they can criticize someone’s great work when they can’t even post theirs and i can’t help but think that it’s because nobody would be interested. Yet, they’re interested in YOURS. For a sims channel, you’ve grown exceptionally well. When i started watching, you only had like 2,000 subs and an average of 1,000 views a video. That wasn’t long ago at all but look how much you’ve grown in such a short amount of time! And that was with breaks and a non full time schedule. You’re a badass Cindy. People will say whatever they can just to be rude, it doesn’t make it true. 💚
And i LOVE your builds and videos. Cindy, you have no idea how much you’ve impacted the sims community and changed how most of us play and view our game. You’ve single handedly reignited the sims 2 spark for many manyyy people. We love you soooo much
I don't know if Jessica didn't want kids or she just didn't want them with Armand since I made a family in Belladonna Cove and played them for a couple of generations before having them start intermarrying with the premades and when my sim and Jessica got married, she quickly got the want to have a baby.
I think Mortimer would of had the stature put up and the white plumbob represents how she "fulfilled his aspiration/lifetine". Its not a stretch because Pleasantview and BC could be connected since it is said the Burbs lived in the city which could have been either downtown or BC
I love these videos! ♥ I never knew about the Baba Yaga/terribly designed house outside of town. I also caught more 70s rock references (at least, a coincidence) the names Rutherford along with Gabriel are names of the founding members of the prog rock band Genesis! They're often paired on playlists and whatnot with Pink Floyd. Also, the last name Weir is a surname of a founder of the Grateful Dead. One of the developers was a big 70s rock fan, no doubt. :D
I personally think the Cordial sisters where Angela and Lilith as it says in their Bio (at least on the wiki) that they were forced to move from their PLEASANT town because of their bad rivalry, yeah it says Pleasant as in the Pleasant family and Pleasantview which has their last name also referencing it, also Pleasantview is like the most normal town with the only weird things being Bellas missing, and that Dina and (the other one🤮) are part alien.
I feel like the missing memories thing was something that was done on purpose but got done wrong. In my opinion, it would make more sense if resurrected Sims had *some* memories of their childhood, but not all. I mean, dead or not, people forget things, even important events.
I'm watching this on my TV right now but had to open YT on my computer just to say that's Baba Yaga's house even though I know you've already 300 comments saying the exact same thing XD But also I never knew that house existed, so thanks!
4:30 this house looks like a Baba Yaga house (Slavic folklore witch) it supposed to be standing on two chicken legs. I must say it does resemble it! Another reason why I think it has something to do with it is the shape. In travel location a shaman that gives you a voo-doo doll lives in a similar house. I really think it's a witchy easter egg :)
Omg I should've read the other comments 🙈 anyways, I'm leaving it be just for engagement for your channel, not to annoy you with yet another explanation lol
i’m so sadddd sims 2 hasn’t worked on my computer since i got a new video card :((( thanks for making such good content so i can watch and get my ts2 fix lol
AbiRose 539 yeah i tried that. maybe i did something wrong, but i basically spent an entire day watching video tutorials and looking through forums trying to get it to work on my computer and just gave up.
I love how you create tons of possibilities leaving our minds almost blowing up and then you're like "hmm, mysteryy" 😂😂😂😂 Thanks to that, now I'm wanting to put enough creativity together to create a big story to explain all of that, plus everything that doesn't make sense in all 4 iterations of The Sims lore (it would include an explaination for what happens in the sims 4) I don't have enough creativity for that, but I wanna see that SO BADLYY
I remember finding the Baba Yaga cabin by accident after playing for ages in Belladonna Cove and being pleasantly surprised and delighted by this reference
Yes was waiting whole day for new video 🥰🥰🥰 Btw I sent you some fanart on Instagram! :) And yes baba yaga is a witch, it isn't just in Russian folklore tho, in most slavic cultures! She lives on the house with chicken legs that can turn. I think it has to do something with asking the witch questions ect.. (I am not a Russian. But I am czech) :)
I have my legacy family living in Belladonna Cove. So far I have ruined the Patel family by having Ramir fall in love with my elder sim James who reach the top of the Politics career and became Mayor. They both worked in the same career. Ana had her child and it was a boy for me so I named him Vihaan. Ramir left Ana and his son to live with my sims in a mansion. He did not get divorced with Ana so he was still married to when he was living and dating James. After James died of old age, Ramir tried to get back with Ana and they just could not get along. So, I made a sad story where Ramir got very very upset and set the apartment on fire in an attempt to kill Ana and Vihaan. Sadly, Ana did die from the fire and Vihaan was saved and sent off to foster care. Ramir is currently in 'prison' for life and has no contact with his son. I want my legacy family to adopt Vihaan next time I play.
*spoiler for Pleasantsims video* The mistery house is a tribute to Slovak culture, fairytales and legends, where witches (especially the bad ones) lived is small cottages which were often called “on a Hen's legs” (depends on translation). I think that this is very cool of creators to iclude this part of culture into Neighbourhood, to give magic a little roots, because maybe this is were it all began in Belladona Cove
I made Justin bisexual and I made his father Jason to not be accepting of him dating a boy (Andrzej something) and now learning that Jason is actually gay himself is weird. Although maybe he was a little jealous that his son was able to be open about his sexuality and he strongly believes it's wrong due to how he was brought up and why he is loyal to Marissa...
One sort of cannon possibility for the screwed up memories and relationships-though it would be stretching it a lot-is magic. There's an evil spell that removes a sim's memories and resets their relationships. It does remove all of them so sims shouldn't have some memories from early childhood if the ones from later in life are missing. Maybe the spell worked different in production-probably not and it was just half-assery but there's no harm in fixing it with head cannons.
The secret cabin is a reference to Baba Yaga's walking hut. She's a some kind of witch as I know :3
Thanks! Looks like everyone knew this but me! 😆
@@PleasantSims I was about to comment on this. Yes, its from Baba Yaga from old Russian folktale and fairytale. Her house has chicken legs. You can see, there's actually "claw marks" at the bottom of the two stairs.

Oh, that's awesome! I didn't know that!

I’m so shocked about Baba Yaga’s house! I’ve been playing for years and never seen this! Just shows how much detail is in sims 2 compared to sims 4 ;)
It took me YEARS before I realized it was there! Lol. I love the little touches like this!
I love it too! Yep, it came with OFB! :)
Whoops, just commented saying the same exact thing before I saw your comment!
I could listen to you talk about the sims for days ☺️
Aww! Thank you so much! 💙
same
I love the Pink Floyd reference, but I had heard years ago that the pig (obviously not the Belladonna Cove one) was added in OFB as a veiled reference that Pets was going the be the next EP, since the devs had apparently said they'd only do another Pets "when pigs fly"
Belladonna Cove's family trees made me think my game was corrupt (spoiler: it was) because of the grey family trees. If you clicked on Marissa, Marissa would be her own sister and mother 💀💀
Oh no!! That's not good! Lol
😂 that's crazy
the botched family trees are a Belladonna Cove hallmark: apparently EA screwed around with family constellations/Sims that they later deleted, but failed to purge completely, which then takes expression in, uh.
Yes, I've been told....about 50 times now. LOL. Thank you for watching!! 💙💙
Lol. Yes, I saw after I commented. Sorry. Great Video! :))))
@@mysticalfun3965 No worries! LOL. I'm glad to know!! :)
@@PleasantSims You should make a video about creating Baba Yaga in Belladona Cove just for shiggles.
Thanks so much kaye! :)
You're making me want to play this Neighborhood, I am a little sick of Pleasantview just from playing it a lot. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the lots
I understand that! Lol. I need a break sometimes too, and that's when I play these 'hoods.
Belladonna cove was my favorite! Watching your videos brings me so much joy
Thank you so much Kristin! 💙💙
I'm recovering from a jaw surgery right now and your videos are keeping me entertained!!!
As a both The Sims 2 and Pink Floyd fan, I'm so happy to hear someone else talk about that reference. Others thought it was just some random thing.
Man, there were so many possibilities with that secret lot but they didn’t do anything with it :|
Oh, and for Isabelle and Timothy, I’m pretty sure they are supposed to be a housewife and househusband.
Wtf I never knew about that hidden cabin thing!!!!! I been playing for yearssssss!!
Lol. I know!! It's just hiding out over there!
Seeing you play Sims 2 has been making me want to play Sims 2 so badly. I wish EA still allowed you to get the Ultimate Collection on Origin. :(
Very informative video by the way!
You can get it on old games download website
8:40 from my own experience it’s usually best to make the playables first and then make their ancestors after, kill them, and link them to the family tree with a package editor like simpe - they probably made the mother in cas along side the daughter but couldn’t fit the father in so they added him to the treee later. But in doing so the mother technically does not recognise him as her husband and I’m sure she doesn’t have any relationship flags set with him either
everyone in the comments: baba yaga
me, an intellectual: howl's moving castle 😌
Exactly what I thought 😂 I was so sure about it 😂
The castle of Howl was inspired by the motifs of Russian folklore. (sorry for the bad english)
I like the idea too! Even if it wasn't the intention, we can make it so! LOL
Is it just me or that house looks like a bird, you can see the footsteps 😂
It kind of does now that you mention it! LOL
Here's an insert from wiki about Baba Yaga:
"Ivan walks for some time before encountering a small hut identical to the first. Ivan thanks her and continues on his journey.[9]
After walking for some time, Ivan eventually finds the chicken-legged hut of the youngest of the three sisters turning in an open field.
I didn’t even know that chicken cabin existed till now ! 😮😮
LOL. I didn't know about it for YEARS!
I really like tha attention to detail in the secret lot, they even took the time to make chicken footprints!
I just found your channel a few days ago and I could listen to you go on about the sims for hours on end! I love how you play and I really like what you do in your videos!
Thank you so much!! 💙💙
I always thought Bella founded the town after she went missing, and she fulfilled her life there (the platinum plumbob) because she couldn’t get home.

Half-assed Memories = Aliens Messing Around With Human Memories
Thank You So Much! keep making videos & vlogs Cindy! Don't let negative viewers stop You.
You Are an Inspiration! On Pleasant Sims & Life Plus Cindy
Idk.
This neighboordhood is really messed up xD
I think they were lazy and messed so much up.
I've just been bingeing Sims 2 content for days and your channel has got to be my favorite!!!!
I don't have any plans to right now, but it's a possibility in the future. Right now, I'm playing Pleasantview and Strangetown in Twitch Streams.
@@PleasantSims that's nice! Right now I'm watching the Edgewood streams so that I can catch up for when you start the gameplay! Thank you for your content :)
It’s been so cool learning more about the sims 2, I grew up playing The Sims 3 and ever since I learned there was a sims 2 I would watch clips from the game and try to convince my parents to get it
for me but it was an older game at that point sadly.
I stand by my statements. 😆
Just started another Belladona Cove playthrough thanks to your Play Order videos 💕 great video, as always
Yay! Thank you for watching! 💙
“Screw the pooch, that’s horrifying”
(i): ‘Cindy is no longer allowed to adopt from her local animal shelter’
Newson children, do you mean NUISANCE children? (New-sance?)
Will you be doing these for the other neighbourhoods? I think that there may be reference and trivia in Desiderata and Riverblossom that is not as covered as people tend to be interested in the 3 base ‘hoods.
Edit 11.8.20: I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through Cindy. Just remember that those people probably don’t have much going on with their lives, or what is isn’t great, so they’re just attacking you as something psychologically tells them that the need to do it (does that make sense?). Take as much time as you need and remember that you have a (mostly) supportive community when you come back.
thank you for making this video! :) i love mysteries & theories of all kinds, but when they're in the sims, it's even more fascinating!
Thank you for watching, Ida! 💙💙
The hidden cabin looks like it was inspired by the Baba Yaga myth. She's basically a witch and she lives in a magical hut that walks on chicken legs, so that's what the stairs and terrain paint is supposed to represent
Thanks! Looks like everyone knew this but me! 😆
girl, this past few nights ive been high af and been binge watching ur sims 2 videos and i cant😭😭ur literally such a funny youtuber, i cant tell if ur being sarcastic or not?💀💀but i love how much u get into the plot and the whole tea of the town, cuz i did the same thing when i played this😭😭plz keep making more sims 2 videos ilysm❤️❤️❤️
secrets and mysteries is such an exciting way to say maxis mistakes
They're not all mistakes. The origin of the 'hood, Bella Statue, Pig Balloon, and Secret Lot were intentional. It's only the memories that were mistakes. :)
love that i'm getting you more and more in my recommended, I did get here because of your series on playing order which I loooooove
Google it for more info, but im 99% sure thats the reference here
Closet case Jason's family is my favorite house to play in Belladonna Cove! #beard
Mine too, well....maybe except the Cordial Sisters! 😆💙
I love these videos 💙💙 I only play Sims 2 now so it's nice to have a TH-camr who focuses on the best installment! Please keep them coming 🙏
I find your channel today and i already love it. I started to play sims 2 this week also lmao, so the information who you give here is so good for me, thank you ♡
Please do more like this!! This was a great video and I didn’t know a lot of these things before this video!
The Baba Yaga house is pretty amazing. I had no idea it existed.
Love your channel hope you grow soon !
You're literally my favorite person right now , like I all I've been wanting to watch is you 🥰❤️
I think Mortimer would of had the stature put up and the white plumbob represents how she "fulfilled his aspiration/lifetine". Its not a stretch because Pleasantview and BC could be connected since it is said the Burbs lived in the city which could have been either downtown or BC
all these years and i knew about the baba yaga hut but i had never actually noticed the giant chicken footprints in the dirt 🤔
not me yelling "HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE" at the screen repeatedly at 5:33
I personally think the Cordial sisters where Angela and Lilith as it says in their Bio (at least on the wiki) that they were forced to move from their PLEASANT town because of their bad rivalry, yeah it says Pleasant as in the Pleasant family and Pleasantview which has their last name also referencing it, also Pleasantview is like the most normal town with the only weird things being Bellas missing, and that Dina and (the other one🤮) are part alien.
send me your entire download folder at this point because i only install a mod or replacement that you have
Lol. Thanks for watching Makalya!😆
all her mods are on her blog!! there are sooo many, i downloaded a bunch!!
I had no idea about that secret lot! Great video 😊
It's the witch influence, they are messing with Sims' memories
(just a headcanon btw)
4:30 this house looks like a Baba Yaga house (Slavic folklore witch) it supposed to be standing on two chicken legs. I must say it does resemble it! Another reason why I think it has something to do with it is the shape. In travel location a shaman that gives you a voo-doo doll lives in a similar house. I really think it's a witchy easter egg :)
Omg I should've read the other comments 🙈 anyways, I'm leaving it be just for engagement for your channel, not to annoy you with yet another explanation lol
I played the Patel family once and I named their child Zoe because I also thought they were her parents
i’m so sadddd sims 2 hasn’t worked on my computer since i got a new video card :((( thanks for making such good content so i can watch and get my ts2 fix lol
Thank you for watching soshi roll! 💙 💙
Get a program called graphics rules maker, it will add your graphics card to the database for Sims 2 which will make it compatible with the game 😁
AbiRose 539 yeah i tried that. maybe i did something wrong, but i basically spent an entire day watching video tutorials and looking through forums trying to get it to work on my computer and just gave up.
soshi roll awww, that sucks :c I'd be happy to try help with some other methods but I hope you can get it to work!!
Yes I was hoping to see more information about belldonna cove stuff!
Thank you for watching Virginia! 💙 💙
12:42 👍🏼sing it girl!! Love Smooth by Santana and I think the guy from matchbox something or other. Been binge watching more of your videos today :)
I love how you create tons of possibilities leaving our minds almost blowing up and then you're like "hmm, mysteryy" 😂😂😂😂
Thanks to that, now I'm wanting to put enough creativity together to create a big story to explain all of that, plus everything that doesn't make sense in all 4 iterations of The Sims lore (it would include an explaination for what happens in the sims 4) I don't have enough creativity for that, but I wanna see that SO BADLYY
10:33 when I first played in this lot I thought they had just moved in to the neighborhood and that's why they are unemployed haha idk
I like to imagine the weird abandoned cabin thing I say it's a murder or where they kidnap people
I think it might be something similar!
Omg, I’m so happy that I found your channel! I LOVE your sims 2 videos. Keep up the good work!
I remember finding the Baba Yaga cabin by accident after playing for ages in Belladonna Cove and being pleasantly surprised and delighted by this reference
Yes was waiting whole day for new video 🥰🥰🥰
Btw I sent you some fanart on Instagram! :)
And yes baba yaga is a witch, it isn't just in Russian folklore tho, in most slavic cultures! She lives on the house with chicken legs that can turn. I think it has to do something with asking the witch questions ect.. (I am not a Russian. But I am czech) :)
Thanks! I will check it out! 💙
I definitely think that the secret lot was a witches hut, the two spiral staircases make it look like Baba Yaga's Hut. (it got chicken legs)
Yep, I'm sure it's Baba Yaga now that I've been told the story!
*spoiler for Pleasantsims video*
The mistery house is a tribute to Slovak culture, fairytales and legends, where witches (especially the bad ones) lived is small cottages which were often called “on a Hen's legs” (depends on translation). I think that this is very cool of creators to iclude this part of culture into Neighbourhood, to give magic a little roots, because maybe this is were it all began in Belladona Cove
I think it's really cool that they included this too!
I love these videos, they seriously make my day🥰
Thank you for watching Pear Pyrus! 💙 💙
Wow! Cool video, especially the Pink Floyd reference. I didnt know 90% of this!
Haha! I'm a huge music buff, and that Pink Floyd reference now wants to make me download the Sims 2 even more!
A full video for my favorite neighborhood yeeeeessss
