  • Hidden service mode in #BMW X5 (G05) gives you access to virtual cockpit test and to additional data like coolant and engine oil temperature. This #secret menu (or developer mode) can be accessed with a button combination. BMW is implementing hidden modes in instrument cluster for years now, and the new virtual cockpit (fully digital LCD instrument cluster) is also equipped with one.
👉 Turn the ignition on with engine off by pressing start/stop button three times without pressing brake pedal. Then press and hold BC button for about 20 seconds. Release it when secret main menu appears on the display.
👉 Browse the menu with short press of the BC button. Press and hold BC button to switch between submenus and main #menu.

Should work as well. BMW is using similar procedure for their cars for the past 20 years. Give it a try!

This is used for if you’re going to be putting your car on a dynamometer for testing horsepower, giving a smog test, or anything that requires the car to be put on a roller. The reason this is a thing is because, BMWs traction control for RWD and xDrive (AWD) systems go a little haywire when the car is on a roller. This will completely turn off the stability control, traction control, ABS, and any driver aids that may limit power/torque by leaning out the engine (more air less fuel) on a roller. To disable chassis dyno mode, turn the car off, then back on and your back to normal. *I advise anyone to not drive in this mode on any roads, not only are you putting yourself and others at risk, but you can also cause damage to the AWD, because in roller mode, it’s 50/50 power split front/rear. Because of this, taking any corners in this mode can be a costly mistake and can cause an accident due to no driver aids.
