Changing the cabin air filter isn't only important for your health, but it's also easy to do yourself in under 10 minutes and with only 1 tool without having to go to a dealer or a shop. I recommend getting a micro/activated charcoal filter, but you can also get the more expensive particulate filter set. amzn.to/3OA7ERe
The steps shown in this video will work on BMW X5 (G05), BMW X6 (G06) and BMW X7 (G07). The steps may be similar to other BMWs of this generation.

Great video! I just changed it today. Definitely it is lot tougher than shown here. Everything was a breeze until it came to fitting the filter cover back. The farthest side hinge for me was way too tight fitting and would seat in place at all. Broke two tabs 😢 but not happy with it. I screwed it down, but sure not a sealed on the rear I know. Put back the kick plate. But had to order a $35 new cover from BMW Parts. But still far better than the $300 plus the dealer wanted !!

Thanks for the video, it helped a lot! It’s quite easy to do, you just have to move the passenger seat all the way back, lay down on your left shoulder and somehow maneuver around to using both hands for certain tasks. If you have the air suspension, bring it all the way to the highest setting. It helps having a flashlight propped up, using your right hand to hold up the filters and then use your left hand to place the cover on. While holding onto the filters, guide the back of the cover towards the clip holders, remove hand and slide clips right in. The clips can easily break so it helps to have some patience and retry if necessary. Also, from the two videos I seen it mentions to have the airflow facing the engine. Takes about 15 mins tops. Thanks again!

Great video! This is a bit easier than my F-series! I do buy the filers from BMW and they cost 85 bucks for the pair!

Took me 20-30 min. Was a lot easier when I laid down on my side and left shoulder. Impossible to do without that position. My air filters kept sliding back down over while trying to put the cover back on so that was maybe the most annoying part and getting it back on.

Great video, but why are you splashing around dirty filter inside your car and placing it on the passenger seat?

The most important thing on the installation of these 2 filters is to know where to have the arrow of the filter pointing to. No one but no one has been smart enough to show it right on camera and also I see discrepancies like some humans saying the arrows go facing opposite directions and some saying both filter's arrows go pointing the engine not the back of the car. So can someone really have a better video and answer to this?

Can you make a video on the X7 key fob programming, how to associate a VIN with a fob. These are available on Ebay, but the instructions given on certain BMW dealer sites don't seem to connect the vin to the fob. Dealer price is more than $350+ for the vin programming.

Compare this to Japanese cars - Honda, Mazda, Toyota, Subaru. Changing a filter takes 2 minutes, no tools required.

Came across your channel, love you vids. Easy to do DIY for the X5 to X7. Already used your videos for oil change, engine Air Filter, and Cabin filters. Keep it going! I just wanted to stare on thing. I believe the X7 has an extra Cabin filter that you missed in the back of the car? Correct me if I am wrong, thanks!
