As someone who has spent her whole life in really rural areas, I really appreciate Chapell Roan. Left leaning people tend to not care about rural areas because they view them as a lost cause, so to see a queer icon like Chapell not only not ignore them, but full on embrace them is heartwarming.
Yes! As a queer person who grew up in Texas, seeing someone like her making queer music while incorporating experiences and aesthetics from rural areas makes me so happy. I still feel a sense of nostalgia for where I grew up, despite being glad to now live somewhere where I can be more accepted. Queer people exist everywhere, including those kinds of places, which is something I feel more people need to remember. Pink Pony Club is one of my favorites

Chappell and the Siren's relationship only thrives when the Siren wants it to, giving her complete control. As well as, the Siren can go to Chappell's world but the closest Chappell can get to the Siren's world is a pool or making her room look like the ocean. Chappel never gets in the ocean. The song and the video BREAKS ME, its SO good!!! I've never even been in a casual relationship but i get attached super easy and feel deep like Chappell so i ADORE the song! I don't know if someone commented it on the last video but I feel like since you did California this time I'll say it: Chappell Roan was signed with a label about *9 years* ago and since then was dropped from said label, was an independent artist, had to move back home for a pandemic, moved back to LA, got signed to a new label, still wasn't getting much traction, started talking about giving music one more year before she was going to officially moved back home for good. Few months after deciding she had one more year of trying she performed at Coachella, The Gov Ball, and while she declined, she was invited to perform at the white house for pride.

THAT EXACT EMOTION. _That's how a lot of us feel watching/listening to California right now_ The character that Chappell builds out in these music videos, while far from helpless, invokes this feeling of the listener desperately wanting to reach into the video to help her up.

Some recent music that I can't recommend enough and isn't getting as many reactions as I'd like: The Last Dinner Party. Their album "Prelude to Ecstasy" is my favorite of the year, and in particular "Caesar on a TV Screen," "Sinner," and "Nothing Matters" get heavy rotation for me.

Some recent music that I can't recommend enough and isn't getting as many reactions as I'd like: The Last Dinner Party. Their album "Prelude to Ecstasy" is my favorite of the year, and in particular "Caesar on a TV Screen," "Sinner," and "Nothing Matters" get heavy rotation for me.

I was so excited to see a part 2 so soon after part 1! California is one of my favorites. I was trying not to outright sob when I saw her sing it live last October; something about it just hits me hard. I’m also glad you got to see some of the super upbeat bops!!

Part 3 pleeeaase- there are NO skips on this album. You are missing: Kaleidoscope, Coffee, and Femininomenon (the opener to the album), After Midnight and Picture You. All gorgeous. PLUS her cover of Heart’s “Barracuda” at Austin City Limits is AMAZING!

I think you’d appreciate Anything (queer longing to a T, written about Adrianne’s ex Indigo), Ingydar (my personal lyrical favourite), sadness as a gift, Miss Misty (for a more country vibe) and Forwards Beckon Rebound to name a few! I highly suggest Noah Kahan, particularly his most recent album (and the deluxe version), especially Orange Juice, View Between Villages (extended), and Call Your Mom, but all of the songs are heart breaking. If you want a less upsetting one, Maisie Peters' album The Good Witch is a great one, especially The Band And I.
