Wow, The BA 747 means so much to you and a lot of people. It is sad to see it go and i hope a few airlines are still gonna fly it for a few years.
But these are though times. I'm so sorry about your mom and it looks like you are doing better now.
The 747 brought much of the world closer for many. I love this aircraft , to see it on it's way out is of course upsetting but the world of aviation moves on . One things for sure there will never be another aircraft like it in my view.

I've e-mailed Corgi Aviation section asking them if they would consider looking into reproducing a possible limited addition of BA,s B747,s in various BA liverys . CORGI replied that they would look into it . So who knows .

1 aircraft, transformed the world. With 2 decks, carrying over 500 passengers. And wings the with of a football pitch, it was twice the size of any airliner before. The Boeing 747. Effectively known, as the jumbo jet. It’s still an engineering marvel. Now, as 1 747. VX is stripped to its bare bones, and given the biggest overhaul of its life. There’s a rare opportunity to explore deep inside it’s hidden futures.
Those were the lines that I heard in 2013 as a 5 year old, made me fall in love with aviation. And in the documentary was my favorite aircraft G-CIVX. Which is now in the Spanish desert, with an unknown fate. I wish it could fly again so I could get a chance to see the 747 that started it all for me, it’s not just a beautiful aircraft. It’s the aircraft we all grew up with.

And also as of this year 2023, G-BYGC is now becoming a heap of scrap!
The Landor and Negus livery 747s are preserved!!! G-BNLY is preserved at Dunsfold Aerodrome and I don’t know where the Negus is but the BOAC is in heaven as it was scrapped in 2023. I have a model of Lima Yankee and it’s satisfying to know that in real life, the plane is still here

I saw a lander livery when I was at Denver for a flight to Salt Lake City. I got a time lapse of it pushing back.
I never flew British Airways before or never to the UK, but I love these liveries. Hopefully I fly their 747 one day 🇬🇧

I was lucky enough to fly on G-BNLY in March 2019 between Vancouver and London Heathrow! Just days after it was painted in to the Landor Livery. It was my first British Airways flight. Even though it was delayed over 4 1/2 hours due to a lightning strike en route to Vancouver, it was well worth the wait. Sadly I’ll never get to do it again...😢

I think it will change to be honest because the 319 seems a good fit for BA with current traffic levels so think they will be around for a while. Brilliant videos too! Looking at those 4 retrojets 1:200 models for myself. If your interested, Aviation Retail Direct have 2 BA 747s on preorder, 1 in normal Chatham livery and 1 in OneWorld, both 1:200 scale!

Calling the Londor 747 old at 27 insulted me as a 27 year old haha. The Landor is my absolute favorite! I'm looking to pre-order the Landor L1011.

Do you mostly shop at AMS because it’s based in England and their prices as well as having a broad range of aircraft. I use AMS for my upcoming Brisbane model airport . Is that we’re you got your jetstar a320 and other models from? What’s your advice on starting a model airport. But all planes at once or gradually add planes and terminals.etc
Yes, The aircraft model store is the best for UK based collectors! and just start small and grow from there, Rome wasn't built in a day... and neither are model airports
