Max Headroom, parachute pants, "Day-Glo" stuff.
Almost all of it!!! Some of it I never knew in the first place!
The best thing about the 80's was being there! The music, the movies, the fashion, the clubs, everything rocked!
The 80’s weren’t perfect, but they are still waaayyyyyy better than what we have today. No contest.
only the music
@@PeterSedessemovies
I wouldn't have wanted to pay a mortgage back then!
what i 💖 about the 80's is that we did what kids should do. Hang out with your friends at arcades, bowling alleys, movies, etc.... Not by texting. Yeah, we stared at screens, but ours taught you values and respect, not about being a gangster. We fought with fists, not guns. We got a$$ whoopins if we did't respect our parents. It was a simpler time. Kids got to be kids.
The music definitely
What I loved about the 80s was the music .
Absolutely awesome music in the 80s !!
John Hughes films. He truly was the voice of a generation. RIP JOHN
They were great films👍
We really need more light, family friendly movies like the ones John Hughes made. Most movies now are pushing a perverse, anti American political agenda.
However, Top Gun Maverick was just good action. No politics.
All films were good even the straight to "VHS" became underrated cult classics.
It's like now they scrape the barrel for ideas and remakes or reboots.
Movies are having either reboot or remake in brackets.
The best part of the 80’s was the music, You should do a quiz on 80’s music.
The thing i love about the 80's was that there was no cellphones....only home phones....and everything was cheap....and the whole world was so tidy, clean and beautiful....
I know we tend to see the past with pink lenses, but in the 80's I was very poor and...remember the ozone layer panic? Yeah, people tend to forget that first big environtmental scare... Plus, growing up with the threat of atomic bombs falling at any time...
But during summer I would leave the house after lunch and only return when my grandmother yelled her heart out, usually to tell us our fav show was starting.
What planet did you live on

What will be next?
The best and will always will be best ever rock music. There will never be great music like the 80's area.
The 80's were the best. Good music, no racism, peace through strength
The seventies were pretty good but your right about the eighties how the world has changed if someone had a disagreement with someone back then it was settled with fists and not guns and the music in the seventies and eighties was amazing 😊😅❤
The 80's had the best. Music, Movies, TV shows, etc.
Born in 1970, the 80s where the best times in my life, they were far better than we have TODAY !!
I feel sad for you.
Personally I like the the songs from the 1960's
I was born in 1971. I agree with you 100%. I miss those days of running around with friends, playing every sport, playing manhunt, riding bikes till our legs felt like wet noodles, staying up late on the weekends during sleepovers and calling radio stations to request our favorite songs and never hearing them! That's just the tip of the iceberg.
They might be better than what YOU have today.
I was born in ‘71 and loved the 80’s and 90’s etc, but it gets better every decade.
Back then paedophiles were just dirty old men that everyone took the piss out of right before brutally attacking them and putting them in hospital...simpler times 😜🍻🍺
MTV when they actually played music and the music they played!!! 🎹💿🥁🎵🎙🎺🎸🎼🎧🎶🎷
What I miss most about the 80's and early 90/s is evrtyone was so well dressed!
80s DEFINITELY my decade- got 37/40... I'd trade today for the 80s ANY day of the week.
Me too! 37/40 my best score yet 😁
Me too; 37/40.
Me too , I bet we all missed the same ones
@@benjaminelsbury683 I only missed one - Czechoslovakia for the velvet revolution. A couple I took an educated guess on. The rest I could answer before the multiple choice came up.
Last decade for good music.
Best things about the 80s.....Hmm...the fashion, we we're practically glow in the dark with all those neons. The music was awesome. The movies were the best. We actually had things to talk about, using our voices and real words. You could get drunk and no one would post about it on social media. Eating junk food was still a treat. The vibe was just the best. Can you tell how much I miss the 80's? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
All of the above... but there was a real aspect of respect. We listened to the teachers, our parents and the cops... we took responsibility for our actions... there was no rampant ultra-capitalism that would erode everything.... that didnt get birthed until the late 80's but wasnt felt until the late 90's- 00's
The thing I miss the most was FUN
Me too the best years of my life even though I was just a kid
The glow in the dark trend was early 80’s; the music sucked, but when compared to what came after it evokes plesant memories; the movies were ssllooww! ,but build over the first hour and delivered a climax that justified it.
The 80’s were good, but a lot of things sucked: electronics of the 80 was the worst; popcorn machines that caught on fire and satellite systems with big dishes that took up half the garden..
@@TH-camsucksdonkeyballs I get the feeling that every decade before and since has been along the same lines for you.
In the 80s the singers at the time all have something in common, they had great songs, powerful voices, and know how to entertain people
I loved the music of the 80s❤
Just made me miss my teen years.
Me too. 😊 When I made this it brought back many old memories. I hope you enjoyed it.😃
Same here
I hear that. I was a teenager during the 80’s and what a magical time it was
Rockers, fashion and fun! Best times of my life!
I had the time of my life in the 80s. I miss it so much.
I loved the 80's too, wish l could go back.
live the present
@@MrLemmy2000
When you look at the present it's no wonder people would prefer to be in the past. The 70s and 80s were great. Look at the mess the world is in now.
What I loved about the 80's was LANDLINES!
I remember lots of hairspray, brightly colored clothing, jeans that fit, and rock bands with lead singers that could actually sing.
"I remember lots of hairspray" Yeah, and women used it too.
@@martinscott-reed5379
Niiice. I was gonna go with eyeliner and makeup.
For me it was David Bowie ❤️🥰🥰
@@martinscott-reed5379
Duh! Of course women used hair spray. They probably still do. But the guys used it too. 🤣
@@georgeglass3680
Yes that is true as well and guys used it too. 🤣
I loved the music and the clothes.
The music! The music. The music!
Great quiz! Did bring back memories, lol!
What do I remember? Hmmm, Miami Vice tv show was all the rage (every guy that I knew had that certain unshaven look that was 'in' at that time, lol); pastel cotton clothing for men and women were all the rage; shoulder pads came back 'in'; and don't forget the 'big hair' for female or male! Good times and great music....
What did I love about the 80s? That is when I became a firefighter and a paramedic, which lasted me for 30 years until I retired as a Captain. Best job ever that I never knew I wanted!
What did I love about the eighties? The fact that I was 12-21 years old. And had hair… and was 100 lbs lighter…. And could run up steps….
The Best Things : Music , Movies and Fashion . It was a Great Time to be alive !
What I miss about the 80s is being able to get through the day without something in my body creaking, cracking, groaning or aching. Suppose at least I've still got all my hair.🤣
Same here!
@Bruno
Man ain't it the truth. What a drag it is gettin' old. No hair loss for me though as I am a woman. 😁
I loved the 80s. This was great
Had a great time answering these questions got 3 wrong but the 80s are my favorite decade I love the music of this Era even my kids and grandchildren love this music also!
The music, clothes and the stability for a lot of people. Life was becoming good for so many
The music of the 80's was awesome! I was a teenager, and we had some fun times! I got 7 wrong on quiz. Thanks for the memories!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I thought all the above for the gremlins question. Doing all those things caused gremlins
Awesome quiz. I still remember exactly where I was when the Challenger exploded.
@Mark rapacki I was in second grade, so I do not remember much about it.
38/40. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”. I came out during the 80’s. Going out was never more fun. The music, the fashion, there was no social media, cell phones. However it was also the decade of death. I lost over 150 friends and colleagues; at the height of the AIDS epidemic I was attending 3-5 funerals a week and President Reagan didn’t even acknowledge it until the middle of his 2nd term.
I only missed 3, my best score yet. Apparently, i knew more about the 80s than the 70s. The thing i loved most about the 80s was the start of MTV. Another commenter said that, and i agree. They played music videos all the time, and no stupid reality shows. It was awesome. Another great video. Thank you.
The music from the 80s is my favorite.
What I loved the most about the 80s... My college years were in the early 80s, wild time! What you now call the 'hair metal' bands era also a great memory.
What I remember (without prompting) is that on Sunday, May 18, 1980 Mt. St. Helen's blew up while I was waiting to watch the Seahawks play.
Me too! I lived on the Oregon side of the Columbia, eastern side. I woke up and noticed a light film on my car. Totally blown away by the huge dredging operations at Kelso and Longview. Remember using nylons to help your car’s air filter?
the thing I loved about the eighties was that I was so much younger🤣
The good old days 🙏
80s was definitely my era! Ashamed to say I still got 4 wrong though. As for what I loved about the 80s - everything (nostalgic sigh). Thanks for the quiz.
Same here!
I loved the music of the 80's, I was in my 20's in the 80's so really fun times for me.
I turned 16 in 1980 - graduated high school in 1981 and started working, and partying legally, in 1982 - what a great time - great music, great movie, great memories with favourite family members that have since passed on ❤
I remember that music was rather varied on popular radio. Rock, pop, soul, country.
All the rock concerts I went to. Working my first job at Little Caesars. And graduation from highschool in '85.
Great 80's
Well this was a quick little trip down amnesia alley. Thanks it was fun.
Glad you enjoyed it!😃
@Scott Emery
Amnesia Alley.... good one dude! 🤣
I was in high school in the mid-80s. I got 38/40 on this quiz and said the answer out loud before any of the choices were listed.
I miss a lot of things about the 80s. The big hair and the acid-washed jeans were great on the ladies. When gas prices when to 88¢ a gallon here in the U.S., I freaked out and wondered how I’d ever afford to drive to work if it went up to $1 a gallon. We’d go somewhere - mall, movies, high school football game, Pizza Hut - and 4 or 5 friends would pile in one person’s car and contribute $1 to $3 each for gas…whoever was driving would make out with getting a lot more gas than they burned driving around town!
The music was great, (still is). MTV actually played music videos and it was a big deal. Saw my first concert in the 80s, (Iron Maiden), and ticket prices then were like $8. It cost more for a t-shirt, (between $12 and $15), at the show than the tickets cost! Every summer, a few weeks before school started, everyone would go to the State Fair. We would ride rides that probably weren’t too safe to be on, eat food I can’t have at my current age, and watch major bands, (like Night Ranger, Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys, Cheap Trick, Sheena Easton, Kool & The Gang, Alabama, etc.), perform for the $5 price of admission to the fair.
Every Friday night when there wasn’t a home football game, half the school population would stay home to watch “Miami Vice”.
“Hair bands” burst onto the scene, moving from the Rock to the Top 40/Pop charts and even Contemporary Christian music moved into the Rock genre with bands like Stryperand others following their lead burst onto the scene, (with Stryper “crossing over”, getting MTV play and blazing a trail that other Christian bands hadn’t yet been successful at doing).
With ‘Hair bands’ hitting the scene, scorching guitars, intricate bass riffs and pounding drums combined with amazing harmonies, occasional piano or keyboards, and flashy outfits to become a signature part of the musical landscape of the decade, with even Van Halen getting in on the movement by bringing a keyboard into their sound, (“1984”).
Ah…the 80s. Such a fun decade.
Either this quiz was super easy, or i really know my stuff about the 80s..i really love the 80s EVERYTHING ❤
You must ❤ the 80s. Thanks for watching. Did you try the 70s or 90s quizzes yet?🙄
It was super easy.
You must have really loved the 80s as so did I no better time
Thanks for this great quiz ! I scored 37 / 40. We had the best music and horror movies in the 80's ! xx
Great job!
Horror Movies are so awful today, and music, and frankly none of the PC bs
One of the things I did every week was to buy LIFE Magazine, I loved that magazine, it was up to date with everything that was happening around the world, specially Studio 54.
That is awesome!
Best thing in the 80's was the Commodore 64 computer.
I had the Atari and always wished I had the Commodore😀
And the 128 with the cut out keyboard naming all the buttons
Bad, bad you! I miss the 80's even more now...17 - 27...who wouldn't? Those were some fun years...thank you for the quiz.
34/40. Not bad. Favorite film from the 80's? Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Video game? Didn't really have a "favorite"...liked most of them.
The big differences were that we weren't under total surveillance all the time, social media did not exist and we actually interacted with each other face to face, people's attention spans were longer than 5 or 6 seconds, and beer still tasted the way it should. People were not hiding in their bedrooms full of anxiety and terrified to interact with others. Kids played sports, people took walks, went swimming, threw a football back and forth etc. People lived their lives in a very fulfilling manner and those stupid surveillance devices didn't take all of our attention all day long. We had so much fun, I can't even describe it. Music was awesome, girls weren't so high and mighty that they would actually talk to you and privacy still mattered to us. The world is now a cess pool and all things beautiful are gone. No wonder suicide is out of control.
Mate you sure summed things up Damn shame what happened to younger peoples lives compared to ours PS 1958 vintage here
The 80’s was the best decade ever!!!!
I miss my Swatch and jelly shoes!
I forgot about jelly shoes😂
I miss being a young adult in the 80’s.
The 80's were 💯💯
The 80s was the best decade, cartoon, TV shows and music were all better back then
Only missed 3...BUT what I miss most😭 the 80s and my teens
I miss the music - I'm still a teeny bopper in my 50's!
Hey I’m with ya! I’m 48 and still love everything 80s esp the music
@@jamesruot3672 👏Long live 80's music!
I got a lot of these questions right and I was born in the 90s but boy from what I have heard it must've been a really exciting decade for everyone that was born or living during the decade.
@Mark rapacki
Same.. except I was married in 87.
No good me doing a 90's quiz as I was up every morning for an 03:00 Roll delivering into London (Heinz) TWICE a day 5 days a week and then back into London Saturday to video weddings. (I live in Peterborough)
I was so tired I don't remember a damned thing - Including my children growing up !
I was a teenager in the '80s, so it doesn't surprise me that I got 35 out of 40 right !! 😁😁👍👍
I was 1-11 in the 80's and missed 4.
The 80's was all about Style and Personality! I miss the Girls, the hair, zip around jeans, pubic hair in my teeth, first Crotch Rockets, The Cruise Friday and Saturday night then the drive-in on Sunday's. Keg parties, stop sign intersections, 4 city cops, my reputation, Kelley Rowell, Van Halen, my DAD, out of town Friday night High School football games, IZOD, True Spokes, Rocky Hill Raceway, Sandy Biker in Hash Jeans and a Tubetop, Coors Partyballs. And Rebecca Bledsoe's ability to make me smile.
God, I miss the 1980s. I turned 10 years old in 1980 and turned 19 in 1989, and sometimes I feel like I dreamed the entire decade given how badly the 21st century has turned out. We didn't know how good we had it back then.
Except the hair. I had terrible hair back then😂
Good quiz. I enjoyed that.
Best thing about the 80’s? It wasn’t the 2000’s.
The best thing about the 80's was listening to 'Mike Allen' on capital radio...the only hip hop show in the entire UK...the music was like gold dust!
I don't remember the Discman coming out in 84 ? I remember it being much later , late 80's . 84 was the height of the Walkman .

what did I like best about the 80s...Everything
Born in 78 so the 80s were for the most part my childhood. Grateful to grow up in that Era. The last generation to be tough and independent. The tail end of gen x. How do I know I was gen x? Because of lots of little things. The 90s brought along helicopter parenting. The toys were dumbed down in the interst of safety. And this one really sticks out in my mind, all the kids started wearing not just a helmet, but full gear to ride their bikes. Elbow pads, knee pads, shoot even wrist guards. You would get relentlessly made fun of or even caught a beating wearing that stuff when I was their age. Kids are supposed to get bumps and bruises and cuts. That's how you learn. And these kids today, don't even get me started.
You were the kid to my generation, so be careful who you target. I was out of high school while you were still in diapers. No offense, but I was already toilet trained, although only for a couple of years.
The Brat Pack, John Hughes movies, The Outsiders, St Elmo’s Fire, SNL was good…Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal, Dana Carvey, Mike Myers…, Berlin Wall coming down, Fight For Your Right to Party…
Hanging out in the woods, drinking and TALKING with friends until 2am, going home and getting up for school at 6am. And we were just sophomores lol . We never talked about politics or celebrities, because we didn't care about that stuff. We sat around a TV watching rock videos on MTV. Great times with great friends and sadly lost touch of all except 3 of them. Summer of 82' I got my license, bought a 71' Charger and had a first real girlfriend, nothing better than cruising around with her snuggled next to me listening to journey and not a care in the world
I missed 4. I still have my Discman! I miss the great music but I don't miss all that hairspray. Just thinking about it makes my eyes water!
I was born in '78. So, in getting 31 correct, I think I did pretty good.
Knowing what color the Pac Man ghost changed made my heart smile.
I only missed six, my memory is better than I thought. I just wish I could remember more from all the concerts I went to.
Everything!!!
The 80's🤣🤣🤣God that was a blast!
I dropped only 2. I loved the music and alternative comedy. The Young Ones broke the comedy rules.
40/40!! B/c I grew up in and loved the 80s!! As for what I loved most? The music, for sure!
Definitely especially Queen Freddie Mercury was awesome in fact so was all the guys
@Mark rapacki yes MTV A-ha won it for take on me and dire straights won it twice once for money for nothing and i think brothers in arms
The music. I miss the music. 38 out of 40 ain't bad according to the comments below.
That's a brilliant score. What was better, 70s or 80s music? I prefer 70s now.
The girls I dated, the music, new romantics, hair and make-up (for the guys). The beginnings of my life as a biker, the cost of living, having well paid work while a lot of my friends struggled to get work. The birth of my first two children further into the 80's. My alcoholism. Almost losing an arm in a motorbike accident. My first time as an inpatient in a Psychiatric unit.
Although the 80's were a great decade overall, not all of my memories are positive ones. The decade ended badly for me.
I'm sorry for your struggles!
80's - the music was best.
40 / 40 I loved the 80's. The BEST time of my life.
34 right, may the force be with us

My favorite 80's film was War Games. As a teenager I spent my spare time programming my home computer
i was in my 20s during the 80s,so what i'm most glad about was being there, not wishing i was like so many 20 somethings today.
The music was the best in the 80’s
The '80s were not perfect but I did enjoy that period very much. (I am not a pessimist so I enjoy most times but the '80s were pretty great. Especially as we still had real music)
30/40 I best remember slinky's, magic eight balls, silly string, playing tennis and running track (I once came in 2nd for the mile)! 🙃
