All my friends who had h.i.v are all dead...I live in a area no one knows my past but i would be discriminated if I tell all my new older friends now ...
I know Chris personally. He and I went to college together. Our hometowns are about 45 minutes to an hour apart from one another. He's a great guy, smart, funny, and caring. The fact that he has chosen to share something so personal with the rest of the world makes me want to give him a standing ovation! No one likes getting or being sick, but I admire Chris for making lemonade out of the lemons that life has given him. Good job, Chris! You're doing a brave and respectable thing.
I'm talking about better in his life. and he's gonna live a regular life like everyone else the advances in science have made changed his from a death sentence to just another thing you get treated with pills.
Thank you for sharing Chris. It is important that people that are HIV+ is willing to put a face to the disease and to make sure that the world knows that it is a manageable disease. Hope everything will work out for you and all the best in the future.
OMG, Your comment to that ignorant guy was so Great, clever, and wittiest response, I Love You!!! I am sorry this happened to you but keep your head up diseases don't define who people are, this could happen to anybody it is how you deal w/what comes your way good or bad that shows your true character. I wish nothing but the best for you and keep your head up and know your worth!!!
You're young, beautiful, and smart. Just take your meds and live a healthy lifestyle and you'll be just fine. Plenty of guys will still want to get some lovin from you!
+Vic292 You seem to be the stupid one. Lackadaisically spouting "oh, just take your meds and all is good" is just stupid. The virus mutates readily, and what works today may not work tomorrow. The treatment itself often has life-affecting side effects, and potentially shortens life.
Aragorn Stellar That isn't the mindset I was going for. It's ignorant to say that if you contract HIV you're going to die. Patients with HIV have two options, go on treatment or don't go on treatment. Consider the alternative to not taking medicine? Probably a lot worse, if the progression of the viral load doesn't slow down. Yes, different medicines have different side effects and some don't work for different strains, but that's why the patient gets put on different regimens of medicines and continues to visit the doctor to check on how the virus reacts to the medicine. If something is wrong, they will switch you on something else and monitor it. Some people don't get side effects while others do. Now you tell me what's worse? Dying with AIDS or living with side effects from the medicines? AIDS will kill you a LOT quicker. I work for a pharmaceutical company and have done EXTENSIVE research on HIV. You're arguing with the wrong person about this subject.
He tested million times before 1:02? Why? I found that statement to be really weird like it's okay to screw and fuck around and you're immune from the horrible gross disease. He's in denial there. I doubt that he tested a million times before this 1st test that he ever did.
No I didn't know, but I doubted that he was being tested right and left while fucking around :(. Actually I don't even know why he is happy with this life style it's gross.
Although I know I don't have HIV, it still scares me to death. I wouldn't wish this virus in anyone. I hope they find a cure soon so they can help everyone because if you haven't noticed its a lot of really nice good hearted people with it.
The doctor's office called me three times while was away with my boyfriend. When I got home, the three calls on my answering machine were each a panic level above the previous ones. I went into the doctor's office and the doctor told me that I "had AIDS" (I know, it was a long time ago and he wasn't used to patients like me). The sight of that poor doctor with his arms and legs all twisted up from anxiety really breaks my heart. But it's not as heartbreaking as I feel when I see someone as hot as you having to suffer with all of this mess.
wow, i had no idea that they got such a bad wrap! they're EVERYWHERE in LA. but i always saw them as space fillers, like what you got when you were on your way to getting a blood test done in case you were really nervous. how are they for not picking positives up?
Thanks for your personal and bravely honest statement. Please take good care of yourself, keep up your meds, and be patient. There are new developments happening all the time and I'm sure one of them will be a cure.
All of the homophobic comments astound me. I didn't realize some people still had so much hatred for homosexuality. All the hatred in the world makes me really sad for humanity.
I believe many wives were OK with homosexuality up until the point when they find out their husbands were sleeping with other men and turned out to have aids. They had to get tested, and found out they were hiv+, now living as poz, when in reality they did everything right, makes them wonder why I was never against homosexuality in the first place. It's easy to be that tolerant when you are far away, but when some behaviours hit home you change your mind.
I wonder how many people would feel the need to admonish people who smoked, or more pointedly in the US's case, eat themselves to death? All of these people including the young man above are living with the consequences of their choices and the more that tell us their story the better informed we all are. Let's have a little bit of compassion instead of this pompous preaching.
"The consequence of our choices??!!" Talk about pompous pseudo-superiority!! I contracted HIV from blood transfusions in 1981, and when many I knew back then who ultimately died of HIV/AIDS contracted the retrovirus, NO ONE knew a pathogenic, blood borne virus was being circulated (and in multiple, non-sexual ways). You may want to re-educate yourself on the origins of the AIDS epidemic; there's more to the FULL story than you appear to know, in my view.
Yeah! You were not alone. The cases of being a positive on this virus was totally horrible, but taking those meds for prevention is perfect that everyone who is then suffering with this could continue their lives 😞❤️
I have had HPV in my late 20s but was lucky in time clear up.i have no STDs etc now. If u have something tell ur partner, safe sex.if sexually active more get tested every few months to 6months.safe sex safe sex safe sex can't preach it enough.
I'm so sorry this happened to you, be thankful that these days we have very good medicine to live a normal and healthy lifespan. God bless you're very handsome and sweet.
my heart goes out to you bud and I agree with so many others I just want to hold you and thank you for your courage our community needs role models like you - Thank you
I remember crying in the shower before even going to any doctors. I was infected in 1991 based on having a November 1990 negative ELIZA test and getting too cocky and cavalier. But while I was crying in the shower in, say, 2000, I calmed myself down by convincing myself that technology would save me and guess, what? It did! I've been infected with HIV for 32 years now and I'm healthy. Part of it is due to taking a nutritional supplement, NAC. that the FDA almost banned because it was a prescription drug. Since it had been on the market as a supplement for 30 years the FDA stepped down after running ever test they could on it to see if it was harmful. Choose any brand of NAC you want, but the best pills smell like sulphur.
Most people nowadays get it from their boyfriends or girlfriends husband or wife! We need to prompt always safe sex & stop dumb discriminating stigmas. We are all humans & deserve love!
If anything, I think it's important that very attractive, normal people keep sharing their stories like this. There is a lot of misunderstandings and stigmas attached to HIV, but when people get their stories out there, it really does increase awareness. It takes bravery and it's important to brace for ridicule from the intolerant and uneducated populations.
I commend your Bravery and Valor. Your immune system is compromised but your Soul is still well intact. Stay Strong, Healthy and above all else Happy. Love and Light.

Well Ideally it should be a test test protection culture. Take whatever protective measures that you are feel necessary, whether that be condoms or PREP or both, but still get tested regularly. I looked at the website and I think it's admirable work, but you can't reduce HIV infections through positive energy alone. I didn't see any discussion of responsible sexual practices, which would do a lot more to reduce HIV infections than a judgment free attitude. Simply scaring people won't work and neither will hugging everyone and telling them they're perfect- we need a mix of education, support, and responsibility, something I don't really see here. I wish Chris all the best.
The virus is not highly infectious. It's a retrovirus that decomposes itself in a, matter of minutes after it is out of a living cell. If you check out the facts about how it is transmitted though sex in the common sexual practices you'll see that most of the probabilities are below 1% per encounter, which doesn't mean at all you'll be save in the first encounter though. You could have all the luck of the world to survive many several encounters without being infected and at the same you could be so unlucky to catch it in your first sexual experience.
